The concept for the show was thought up in The Netherlands, but has actually slowly but surely been spreading to many other countries :D In Denmark where I live, our version has been on the air since 2011 and is still very popular - I think its because it fits in very well with our love of communal singing and the Danish concept of “hygge” :) Actually, whopping 11 countries are already airing their own versions, and it’s now also spread outside Europe - to China of all places (on CCTV ofc). Additionally, the concept has recently been purchased by- and is scheduled to air in a number of new countries in the near future -on of which iiiss... ...*drumroll*... The US! So you’ll actually be getting your wish soon! :D Tbh, I’m pretty surprised that its coming to the US, because your media really loves competitiveness, when it comes to TV shows, no offence. I’m kinda curious as to see how it will play out, heh. Some of the other countries where it’s also set to air in the near future are: The UK, Brazil, Russia and Australia. I think its fair to say that it's on track to “infecting” the whole world now, lol :P
Floor is an empath and high sensitive. When she reads the lyrics she lets the story speak to her. She needs to understand and feel its meaning in order to be able to tell the story. Those parts of the story that are most important to get its message across she will emphasize with her voice as well as with gestures and facial expressions. Even if you can't see her, you can hear her facial expressions in her voice. That's how Floor connects with her audience.
It is because she is able to convey empathetic feelings through body language and voice and that is felt directly by every living being (human and animal). She dares to be vulnerable, she is really compassionate and every human can feel that immediately. It disarms you and it penetrates into your soul. She gets under your skin and gives you goosebumps.
I sent the original video to a friend of mine who’s son is wheelchair bound due to spinal issue and he and wife both in tears like the others due to Floor’s voice with those powerful lyrics. I read somewhere that Marcel Fissler (director of there band that accompanies them, great band too btw) said there were many people asking him like (Dutchies) "who is that metal chick there" while foreigners asking "who are those people around Floor there" :-)

This is a masterful performance! Floor uses her tools so eloquently. Notice her head moves and how at the end she drops the bomb. Like a human missile cruiser. Raise your hands, she's the Goddess! 😅👍
Floor isn't just a singer, she paints a landscape of emotions. The way she bends and accents certain notes, is like using whatever color of the palette is needed to express whatever needs to be expressed. She is like the Vincent van Gogh of singers.

The funny stock music at the end of each BZ clip is a throwback to the show's opening title song, which each singer has a few lines in. It's quite sweet. Well worth watching one of the subtitled full shows when you've got a quiet moment - you get a lot more from it. Though your Twitch devotees always seem to add the pertinent details at the right moments!

If it was just a few songs that she did so very well I would not think her voice is so special, however it's all the songs she sings are of such a high quality. Quality being emotions, intensity, tone and an ability to pick just the right way to sing the song. She is a genus singer just as much as Thuomas is a master of composing. Nightwish has in my not so humble opinion, the greatest entertainer in the history of music for their singer. Pretty much most reactors will tell you the same thing. Most people realize it about 3 songs after hearing Ghost Love score.

Symphonic metal is miles away from mainstream, "normal" people don't know it. Needless to say by the way that her popularity in The Netherlands exploded during this TV show. Her following solotour was sold out in 3 seconds and Nightwish had to plan extra concerts in Amsterdam.
