Yeah, but it would be helpful for you to tell us how or what to do with the end of the drainage pipe. All the experts say how important it is for drainage but where does to water go????
!00% Wrong.....Never use landscaping cloth between dirt and the gravel, The cloth will load up and stop the water from going though the cloth and the hydraulics will push the wall out. Total failure.
This is just a example when installing a drainage system for a retaining wall. I don't agree with using a non geo fabric. It will cause water to build up behind the wall causing a total failure and collapse of the wall.
All these years later and this video keeps on giving. Thank you for confirming my point about drainage to my wife. Nice touch with the fabric.
Excellent video. Straight to the point. No fancy graphics. I gave it a like
Never thought about running the fabric all the way up the back of the wall, keeps the dirt from leaking through cracks of the bricks. Great idea.
The best video that explains the drainage system; thank you very much.
Where does the other end of the pipe go?
after watching this series, I feel good about helping my husband build our new retaining wall !! Thanks for the series, it was very helpful !!

You can direct out with solid pipe all the way out to the street or you can have corrugated pipe soak an open field.

you are correct I was waiting for someone to point that out
What should you do instead?
what do you recommend?
you have a concrete wall at the back? you are not retaining anything nor weight... you don't need the drainage and gravel....It's ridiculous..
