    Remember that when you are in the EU you have 2 years of warranty, which includes replacing an old battery for free, make use of that before you try this yourself.

    • @peppershade1
      @peppershade1 2 года назад +2

      @@idontwanttochooseausername it really depends, I've worked for Samsung in The Netherlands. If your phone is still in one piece it should be under warranty

    • @tcntad87
      @tcntad87 2 года назад +1

      The warranty isnt mandatory and amount of years is up to retailer. In Sweden its 1 year and batteries arent included

      @@tcntad87 in the EU a phone manufacturer must give you 2 years of warranty. They cannot exclude specific parts. If the phone is not working as intended they must repair it. Battery's are always a bit of a grey zone where they have to decide if a battery is good enough or not. Samsung has specific software to read out your device, which will then generate a report and gives you a graph with the battery lifespan and charge cycle count which gives the repair shop a result they have to follow. But from my experience in the Samsung Service Center, they'll replace your battery even when it's still above of the failure threshold. I can't guarantee they'll replace it for you but the chances are high after a year of usage

    Samsung have one of the strongest adhesive under the battery in the phone market. I usually do not have a luck with IPA and suction cup , and I use a heat gun to soften the adhesive and them the pry tool to remove the battery. In many cases old adhesive still strong enough for a new battery as well.
    So cool that all screws are same size and type.

    Thank you, sealed batteries are ridiculous. The same corporations who accuse us of not being "sustainable" try to make us buy a new phone every 2 years instead of re-using the same phone with a new battery..

    I just did this on my S10e. Not that satisfied. Getting the old adhesive off took forever. The adhesive thing they give you is thick so the case doesn't lay down flush like the original. I thought I was being careful but still managed to crack the cover. It's better than shelling out for a new phone, but don't expect miracles.

    This is extremely involved for a battery swap, and it's a greatest problem with smartphones for all consumers. I saw that you've offered advice to joystick manufacturers how to get rid of drift. Do you have a similar video where you've solved this battery problem?

      they coudl jsut keep the old designs in wich you coudl just open the back and replace the battery straight up. there is literally no benefit in this new design for consumers. they just do it like this to push you to buy a new phone or pay them to change the battery for you

    Got the battery out with IPA ... although, after putting the phone back together and turning it on the screen went black ... and stayed black. I mean the phone still vibrates when I turn it on and plug it into the charger, but the screen stays black. I believe some IPA might have leaked into the fingerprint sensor area, shorted something ... and essentially broke my phone.
