I learned something, leaving that overhanging top fiberglass made a nice little wall to keep the resin in place when you did the bottom. NIce job.

Hi there, at what point do you trim the taped off area? I guess when it’s semi-dry? But how to judge when it’s the good time to do so?

Can you make a list of materials that one would need for said repair?

      Sandpaper - 60, 120, 320, finer if you want
      Fiberglass - he uses 4oz over 6oz here...4 over 4 or 6 over 6 is also fine
Resin - he's using sanding resin here...it contains surfacing agent. For small jobs, that's fine. For bigger laminations you may want to do laminating resin first, then surfacing where you'll need to do your sanding work
Filler - I think he said he was using cabasil. There's q-cell, cabasil, aerosil, and possibly some others. Aerosil and (I think) cabasil are good because you can mix 'em a little thicker and they won't run before curing if gravity pulls on them.
Other stuff: racks, power sander, paint brush for lamination, small Dixie cup for resin.

Good job. That's pretty much how we do it here in the shop in OZ, we use Solar Cure it make the nose fast to fix. I dont understand what the benefit of the masking tape is at the start? Seems to me to add an extra step for no reason.

How do you remove the skin cancer from your fingers after touching the resin without gloves?? just sand off the tumor?

You cut off the tip, sand it back until it's clean, build up a new tip with some resin and qcell and go from there. I like to give a clear coat over the top of where the nail would be just to make it look more realistic.

Hey, I just fixed a buckle pretty close to the nose of a board, for some reason the resin dried with almost a greenish tint to it, any ideas what might have caused this, I used Ding All poly resin

Shitty resin. Probably isn't design for surfboard repair. Or maybe you left it in the sun whilst it set.
