Excellent video. Mr. Spanner, you are a good teacher. I have also used a chain grinder for many years and I appreciate the attention to detail you put into your presentation. Cheers from Wisconsin!
Mr. Spanner---Your videos are simply terrific! I've been running chainsaws for forty years and I still learn something from your videos every time I watch. I prefer not to use the grinder because it eats up saw chain, but when you hit rocks or need to take all the cutters down after a period of some irregular filing, then they are the best.
Hi Spanner man thank you very much for this video , i really appreciate it , i have learnt a lot from your videos being a newbie to chainsaws, and your videos have taught me heaps, cheers David
How do you dress the wheels that come with the Stihl USG grinder? These are meant to be asymmetrical but I found it really hard to work out which side should face the motor, even using the supplied profile guide. I don’t know whether they come symmetrical and you are supposed to profile them yourself?

solid info.
The Husqvarna progressive depth gage is good too.
I have those as well but they are less aggressive than the stihl gauge. Also the Stihl is much harder 62 HRC Rockwell.
I wish the sthil progressive depth gauges were available in the US
You can get progressive gauge from West Coast Saws in America

I dress them asymmetrical and always just a nice U shape
You can dress they with the normal U shape works 100%
