  • Installing and testing BRP's tunnel ice scratchers with replaceable tips SKU# 860202388.
was looking for a way to cool my machine on warm days and packed trails. so I put these to the test and they worked great. Have also read from people online that they do not work in reverse but these models do.
    Thanks for watching

Hope it helps. I believe the 345 mm will work you but it would sit better if you tilt when installing it

Thank you. They definitely helped me this weekend when the trail was icy I could smell my track heating up

I have the same scratchers on my 2021 Expedition. Was not aware that you could backup with them deployed. I thought for sure you were going to snap them off. I made the mistake of backing up once with them down and thought for sure I had ruined them but to my surprise, they were fine. Thought I just got lucky and never did it again.

the reason he had to move them back and angle them to suit scratcher angle is because they are mounted on the wrong sides. They need to be switched side to side(the hangers)

I think these are to far back, I mean the Skandic has a fan as well so overheating the engine probably isn't much of an issue, the scratchers are more for the slides in my opinion. I think the drop you see from 90 degree is the fan turning on more than the scratchers. I put different scratchers further up front, does a much better job throwing snow into the undercarriage, from what I can see in your action shot, doesn't most of the snow come out behind the snowmobile?

The fan does not come on till 99c. And yes there is a lot of snow that comes out the back of the sled but they do work. Was running on some hard pack this weekend and needed them for the track more then the engine temp, even though it helped because I was carrying a heavy load. And I just put them where Brp wanted them on the instructions

Hey nice vid! Does the sled have a front mounted rad?

They do I am not sure what temp the fan comes on but have had them fail in other machines. Still good to have riding packed trails and on ice for the track
