Before Covid, I was looking into where to go for quick weekend getaway (I live in Tokyo) and saw the beautiful island of Sado. As soon as I mentioned Sado, my husband stopped me mid-sentence, explaining how it’s notoriously infamous for NKorean spies to kidnap Japanese and foreigners. It’s where most people have disappeared.

What I find heartbreaking💔 is that the majority of the people haven't and concept of what they're missing. That's how closed that country is. Many don't know that their bellies deserve to be full, their clothing to reflect their personality, even personal creativity in its basic forms are denied and are instead, dictated😒😔

it's crazy that that one hotel could put on such a light show but electricity is scarce and only available for a few hours a day in majority of the country. I'm forever grateful I wasn't born in NK.

After watching this go and watch Yeomni Park. I love her so much she is a North Korean defector who talks about all the heartbreaking and inspirational stories of her life and she deserves all the views
What a coincidence. I'm watching a South Korean drama on Netflix called "Crash Landing on You" about a rich businesswoman who accidentally ends up in North Korea and she falls in love with a soldier there and he and his friends try to return her home without being caught. It's actually really good.

There was a joke about how Japan can afford everything, North Koreans nothing and how rude South Koreans are. One of each country is at a restaurant. The waiter says excuse me, we ran out of sushi. The Japanese guy asks how can you run out? The North Korean asks what's sushi? The South Korean asks what does excuse me mean?
