Would be helpful to hear from sons of trans identified parents, and siblings as well. Thank you for including the families perspectives.

I am amazed to listen. My mother had died 3 years before, and I had many younger siblings, so I HAd to talk with my Father as the father, not the replacement of my mother, which I think he thought he had ti be. I could never let him speak falsetto. I would say this to him.

It is safe to say, agp was at the root, considering that agp make up the majority of trans globally.

This is interesting to here from the daughters point of view. I as a trans woman, transitioning in my 60’s, I often wonder what I have put my son through that is more than what he tells me. He has been very accepting of me during the whole thing but I can tell thing’s aren’t as they were. My granddaughter accepts me totally and we get along better and do more things together than before I transitioned. My parents is a whole different story. They have never accepted me and even disowned me from the family. Dad has passed now and mom is in a care home put we talk most every day on the phone. I can’t go to see her fiscally though because she gets all upset and starts preaching and crying when she sees me. So we talk and I try my best to steer the conversation’s away from anything to do with me living as a woman now. I’m so much happier now, attend an all women’s Sunday school class and other women’s groups. Even my best friend is female and we have wonderful times shopping, traveling and just enjoying life. So YES it is a hard time for everyone involved but I’m just thankful I avoided all my thoughts and attempts of taking my life until I got here for what ever life I have left. End of life worries me if it comes to the point where I no longer can take care of myself. My only regrets are, not doing it sooner and all the turmoil I have put my family through. But I had only two choices…. I’m living the one I chose. Great pod cast and very informative ❣️

You say you find the different perspective interesting, yet you use the opportunity talk about yourself.

Your mother knew that you aren't a woman. It's offensive to claim that you belong to her sex. She bore, birthed and fed a son. Losing that son must have been so painful.

Men get no say on womanhood. Men do not get to claim the words "woman" or "female".
      Just staaaaaahp.

At the end of the day you were selfish and prioritized yourself regardless of age, and you woefully *wondering* about how it affected your child does not make you exempt.

It is sad to hear that you did not see the third option which would not have required you to deceive yourself or self annilate and see those as the only options. The 56:20 point in this podcast asks this important question.
Thank you for sharing your comment and experience. It is valuable to understanding one another and this phenomenon.
