SO you buy a mattress and then need a topper sometimes to make it comfortable. Doesn't that indicate a poor mattress if it needs a topper to even be usable?
As a mattress salesman- if you need a topper that nearly always indicates you chose a mattress that was either too firm or wrong for you for a variety of other reasons. Quality memory foam toppers for queen start around $400 (you can find cheaper crappy foam toppers but if you're doing that then might as well buy a crap mattress to go with it because it negates the point), and even then it's really a bandaid and far from an ideal solution. Just bloody come in to the showroom and have us reference you through- yes we make comms off the sale, yes you're paying a little extra for the overhead, but out of over 60 mattresses on (for example our) showroom you'll get the best one for you. I would rather my favourite $1500 (retail) mattress on our floor over 70% of the $6000+ mattresses that are wrong for me for various reasons... hopefully that makes sense. Come in during a public holiday week where all big companies will be having 50% off and you can get a 2.5k-3k matt for half off and I guarantee you're getting the best value at this price point if your salesman doesn't completely suck. Watching youtube videos about 5* rated mattresses that are wrong for you makes no fucking sense. Pardon the French but it's one of those things if you worked in the industry you too would find it obvious.
@@Tridentus But how, having come into a showroom, do you know which is "best for you" when all the salespeople do is have you lie on it for a minute? Is there something else a salesperson should be doing, or is it best just to pay $6k and be done with it. (or $13k ... gack!)
Thanks for putting this whole thing together. If money is not a concern for a side sleeper which one would you choose, Emma comfort, Emma Hybrid or Ecosa mattress? Most reviews online say the Emma comfort would be the best out those 3, but it is also the cheapest... which seems a bit odd.
Sorry for the late reply! Value for money it's the Emma but if money isn't a concern I'd pick the Ecosa. I think you'll find the reviews are heavily influenced by the affiliate relations from these companies as we've had many of them reach us to incentivise a better review 😉

Sleeping Duck. For the record. I definitely could feel the difference between the firm & medium layers. Both in the vertical & horizontal splits. If your partner has medium & you have firm, you will notice the change if you sleep on the crease & roll to the medium. Even if you play with the pads on your side, you need to line up the transitions so they aren't immediately under your hip or shoulder, else the pressure is not even.
I have had the Ecosa mattress for around 18mths and I find it very comfy..I have chronic back pain to.. It's very awkward to sit on the edge (to put on your socks etc...) you see it in the video how there's hardly any movement in the middle but when she sits on the edge it's really sunk in....
I'm not sure about the source, but I was told it's related to how folded mattresses were made. How it is folded into a box limits its capacity to support the edge. It's sort of a trade-off for those folded mattresses.
@@LichiaLo Yes you are correct as when I was out looking at an adjustable bed for my parents last week that's exactly what they said. 6 weeks after ordering. The ecosa pure mattress was initially "firm" during the first week despite the flipable top section being in the "medium" orientation. Great video, lots of very good info. Just wondering, why was the Eva mattress not in your list? Is the eva a bad mattress or you just didn’t get a chance to review it?
@@HGCUPCAKES Not true, I rang and asked Eva about this. Eva has a 30 day break in period on the mattress to give your body time to adjust to it. So they ask not to initiate a return until the 30 day period has ended, if after that time you want to return it, you absolutely can return it anytime in the remainder of the year. So really it’s a 335 day trial once you wait the 30 day adjustment period.
Actually have an Eva mattress I'm quite Heavy. It has a soft top and very strong springs. I find it extremely comftable and after 2 years is clearly durable. The reason for the 30 days is the body break in period. That's you adjusting to the mattress not the other way around.
Hi, how are you finding the Ecosa now after 5 months? Do you still recommend it? Interested is getting one but not a lot of reviews around. Thanks for your time and review.
The mattress is still in the same condition as when it was new. I have tried changing the firmness just to see if would be more comfortable (it was) but overall too early to tell. Check back in a year!
The bed frame I have is the Ecosa bed frame and I love it because it's so easy to put together. In saying that, you don't need the Ecosa bed frame to use the ecosa mattress! The SD frame would be perfectly fine!
Emma diamond is over priced, very firm and sleeps very hot. I don't think it's worth the asking price. The ecosa pure looks like the better mattres on paper but I've never slept on one. Should be much cooler and probably more comfortable. The emma probably provides better support as it's very firm. Order both, keep your favourite.
I tried both ecosa pure and emma diamond. The emma diamond was too hard, had to get the topper, then after not a long time already started to sag so sent it back. Using the ecosa pure and love it. It's supportive but still soft enough not to be painful

@@mattressreviewsaustraliasurely you sent most/all of the mattresses back using their free returns policy. What the heck did you do with them otherwise?
@@dazzaclark yes that would've been the financially sensible thing to do, but we didn't want to exploit that and burn relationships with these companies. We ended up keeping 4 Ecosa Pure, Koala Soul Mate, Ergoflex, Sleeping Duck to use ourselves / give away, while the rest were cleaned/packed and sold on FB Marketplace for cents on the dollar 🙃
Best one for slamming?
Great video, lots of very good info. Just wondering, why was the Eva mattress not in your list? Is the eva a bad mattress or you just didn’t get a chance to review it?
I’m glad the Eva wasn’t reviewed. Despite it saying 365 days, trial is only 30 days.
We wanted to, but Eva was sold out at the time!
my mum bought one in the mean time. so I could get a good sleep when I visit. Mum is much much lighter then I am and she loves it.
Amazing comparison
Hi, how are you finding the Ecosa now after 5 months? Do you still recommend it? Interested is getting one but not a lot of reviews around. Thanks for your time and review.
The mattress is still in the same condition as when it was new. I have tried changing the firmness just to see if would be more comfortable (it was) but overall too early to tell. Check back in a year!
How about now, I'm about to hit buy on the Ecosa :) do you give me your blessing :)@@mattressreviewsaustralia
@@mattressreviewsaustralia as requested, now checking back after a year: same feedback?
Ok great. It’s taking me ages to pick something. I see so many good reviews for mattresses under $500
How do you find the bed frame in the video? Would say you can use a sleeping duck Indestruct Bed frame with the ecosa mattress?
The bed frame I have is the Ecosa bed frame and I love it because it's so easy to put together. In saying that, you don't need the Ecosa bed frame to use the ecosa mattress! The SD frame would be perfectly fine!
Excellent
Hi just wondering if you would recommend the ecosa pure or Emma diamond to be the best mattress.
Thank you
Emma diamond is over priced, very firm and sleeps very hot.
Great video, thank you
Thanks for watching
this was fab
wheres macoda?????
We had to draw the line somewhere. Macoda wasn't as popular as the brands we reviewed. Seems like a great mattress though; we'll cover it eventually!"
Would be a bit of help to have CC. Or speak a bit slower couldn’t understand very well
Don't buy nectar mattress
I'm no brand but if i wasn't married I'd defo "pick you up".Thanks for the great reviews.
