Although you tried to conceal it, I can heard your sadness when you keep mentioning Spudgy instead of the breed Pekingese. I hope you find happiness after the series of unfortunate event and keep creating and sharing your adventure to us :)
I’m grateful to have been chosen by Spudgy to be his mum, he was such a great dog and taught me so much about pushing through pain and remaining positive. I’m doing much better, still lingering sadness and hurt but we all have baggage like that in our lives. The key is if we can deal with it and move on in a positive way and I think I am
Check out LOU as well! The loaves are SO GOOD and it is such a crazy different atmosphere from the rest of Nakano~ snuggle your new kitten for me loveo
I was 15 years old when I first started watching Martina, I turned 21 recently and her videos are JUST as good if not better, keep up the good work!! I wonder if you've thought about collaborating with youtubers like Viktorichyan (she mainly speaks russian/ukrainian but knows English well).
Sees a Tokyo Tour dropped. Stops everything I’m doing and immediately watches. Ahhh…. These are seriously a breath of fresh air. Also you’re the only person who ever mentioned the side street to Nakano Broadway. This is the content I adore!
It’s crazy, the Nakano side streets are LOADED WITH FUN and I never saw a video about it before I moved here. Once I visited myself and started exploring I was like, “WHOA SO MUCH COOL STUFF! I must share!@
Martina, you videos are so informative and full of your sense of humour. Really love them. And I just want to say how your 'build a ladder' has helped me a lot over the years. Sending you lots of joy from Singapore. :)
I really love this series. I was enjoying a slow breakfast this morning, and this was a perfect accompaniment to start off my day. Please take care of yourself, Martina!
I really like this "tokyo tour" format you are doing recently. It's less intense and packed with stuffs compared to other similar content on youtube, but the coziness feeling of it it a real winner for me.
I absolutely loved this episode, I felt like I was running around with a friend and hanging out while checking out places I've never been! Absolutely lovely, Martina💕
This content is great for anyone really, locals, expats, tourists, enthusiasts, dreamers.. You’re nailing this solo fly m’lady ❤️ I feel you, I understand you and I salute you 🧸
Well thank you very kindly! It's been a very difficult journey but like all ships out at sea, you hit rough waters at times and nearly drown, but if you can weather the storm, you come out stronger on the other side. *salutes back*
If you are here you obviously love Martina and I could go on and on about how amazing her content, fashion, attitude are BUT I think it's time we finally talk about how great her voice is! I would love an animated series with her doing multiple voices😻how can she go from the sexy narrator right to a cute lil piggie??
I’ve also been watching Martina since 2014, my first year of college. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years now. Thank you so much Martina for putting out content that makes me feel good and inspired. I want to have your adventurous spirit and be brave like you.
I am obsessed with the overalls! and the Labyrinth references! Sorry those needed an immediate hat-tip. This trip was something special, for showing both the day and night side. You were right, it does give away this sort of magical awakening at night into a different world, and that's so cool. Not only am I storing these up for the day I (crossing fingers) get to visit Japan, but to maybe do more exploring where I live and find my own adventures. It's good to learn to look at things from new perspectives. Thanks so much for taking us on this tour with you!
Definitely saving this one as a reference for visiting Tokyo! Hoping to go for my honeymoon if Japan opens for tourists late this year. Your Tokyo Tours are getting better and better Martina (and Dan)! 💖
I absolutely adore these Tokyo Tours videos. This is exactly how I like to spend my time when I visit Japan. The dim sum at the end is making me so hungry 😩
I’m sorry but I’ve never heard a more hilarious (and accurate) summary of The Labyrinth than “it’s David Bowie and his bulge and that’s the whole movie” 😂😂 Thanks for the laughs as always Martina! Another great video
I love these tours, Martina! I can’t believe the nakano labyrinth was built in the 60s. It seems like such a cool liminal space. I’d love to visit sometime!
So lately I’ve been working on my mental health and I’ve been watching your videos for so long and seeing a spudgy made me cry. I saw his green mane and shaved belly and a glimmer of his winter coat he hated. Oh I was not prepared for this. I am pinning everything on google maps for my trip out there in 2023. Love you Martina. ❤️
Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies, so I immediately got the reference. Pants, magic pants! "You have 23 minutes in which edit all this footage before you loyal viewers move onto other video content. Such a pity." (Just a little thing for a fellow fan(s), said in my best attempt at Bowie's voice.) Umm... that's a pigeon not a barn owl, last I checked anyway. Nakano Broadway, a great place in its own right, but just like so many of the other "tourist traps" around the world, there is a whole lot more to see just beyond the well-trodden path. The back alleys way that Martina used to get to Nakano Broadway reminds me of the back alley of "Midnight Diner", one of my favorite Japanese centered series on Netflix; and that tsukemen restaurant just made me wonder if down the next alley, I might see the old master's izakaya where everyday people, yakuza, performers on the run from restrictive life, anyone can come in and we can see a dish that tells their story, if the master has the ingredients for it of course.
I follow you from waaay back. That moment with Korean food and a Spudgy was really emotional ❤️ I'm glad you are keeping consistency and quality content over time. Thanks
As I was watching this video it suddenly reminded me of an incredible documentary I saw on Kowloon Walled City. The documentary is in German language with English subs. These type of videos that explore different nooks and crannies of massive cities on the other side of the world endlessly fascinate me. I'm bogged down with work and can't travel, so it is so nice to be able to feel a sense of adventure in a video like this.
Such a great compliment, I'll pass it onto Dan! Yes living the sweaty, sweaty, dream. Next Tokyo Tours might have to be the ice cream escape from summer edition 😂
I absolutely adore the night vibe of Japan! The moment the sun goes down in any footage of a Japanese city, I hear that good ol lofi in my head! Such an aesthetic! This video was beautiful as usual! Hoping you’re doing great, Martina!
I love the way you move through a city Martina! I have started noticing stickers in Oslo where I live because of you. Finding the backstreets, and the good food!
Martina, THANK YOU for continuing giving us all this (all your) magic. you always help me through good and rough times, you give us an instant happiness shot. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your work is top knots. THANK YOU!
Always enjoyable to go on adventures with you! I love your overalls and hairstyle!!! The mall layout reminds me of the story of the Winchester House, where the widow Winchester had builders purposefully create chaotic nonsensical features (like stairways that went nowhere/to walls) to confuse the angry spirits that were killed by the Winchester rifle that her husband created/made. 😆
Always love love your Tokyo Tours. I have visited Japan in 2019 but we steered away from Tokyo because it's a "city" and went to Kyoto and Osaka instead. However, you are definitely making me reconsider giving Tokyo a shot. I really appreciate that you show us not only the popular spots but really disect the side streets and show us these hidden gems. Also, not sure if you are allowed to do this or you must have mentioned it in the past, but I think it would be really cool if you could place your own King Kogi stickers where you do your Tokyo Tours, and once Japan really opens up for tourists we could try finding them! I think that would be really fun! 💖
I’ve left only one sticker so far but I’m nervous 😬 haha yes I hope you can visit some of the lesser busy spots bc Tokyo is vast and not all of it is Shinjuku and Shibuya!
That Spudgy dog made my heart squeal and also I felt a pinch in my heart. I remember discovering your other channel back in 2015-2016 and have been watching you ever since. I'm glad to see your new channel growing and doing well.
Was already feeling emotional today, but when you mentioned spudgy, I really felt all the emotions. In a new country, new work, still so many things to arrange and still haven't found the courage to venture out to meet new people. But this video inspires me to try to take little steps at my pace. So tomorrow at lunch I will go on a walk or on my way back home I might try a new route. Luckily there is google if I get lost.
I was having a bit of a bad brain day so I was so happy to see this video pop up ♡ I visited nakano broadway when I went to japan but I feel like I coukd have spent days looking at everything and didnt see much of the surrounding area. If I ever get to go again, I'll definitely look around there more. X
Couldn't agree more! It ended up being a very long filming day but having discussed it beforehand, we both agreed that Nakano needs to be seen during day AND night to really get the proper vibe.
What a lovely journey! Thanks for bringing us along! I’m chronically I’ll myself and watching these videos help me escape my home (seriously Covid please go away) and bring me abundant joy to see you out and about enjoying life in Japan!
I'm so glad to see these videos again! You look so happy, and I just love all the info and even some history that you give. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself with us!
Great video Martina! I always loved your tours of Tokyo in the past. When I went for three weeks in 2017, the highlight of my trip was going to Harmonica Alley at night, which I added to my list based on your video. I just love that kind of feel from a city! Tight alleyways, low key lighting and sitting over a barrel eating with locals. You make me so nostalgic for Japan.
So much to explore in Harmonica Alley right? And lately they opened standing wine bars so you can have a cold glass while people watching too. And I think I know what barrel you are talking about haha
I can't express how much your videos make me so happy Martina! Your Tokyo Tours video makes me wish I did more searching around Nakano and other places when I lived there. Keep it up! I love the time, effort, and energy you bring to your videos. It truly makes me happy 🥹❤️ Edit: Also great job to Dan also who always does a fantastic shop filming 😊 You two are amazing and I can see all the hard work you put into the videos
The vibes on your videos are immaculate. I love the jazz music and the trivia too! Thank you, for all your hard work and, sharing my top bucket list destination with us!
I've been watching your videos for so many years I've lost count, and I've never once been disappointed. They just keep getting better and better, and instantly put me in a better mood. Nakano Broadway is now on my list of places I need to experience.
Love seeing the sheer bliss of tasty food enjoyment! Aaaah there are so many places I want to see in Tokyo but I'll only have a week there before visiting other major cities in Japan. So hard to curate among all the awesome experiences!
I LOVED Nakano when visiting in 2018. It was such a cool place to stay and explore, the amazing little restaurants in the back alleyway, I didn't even get to make it to the actual BROADWAY... now I understand why! **DANCE MAGIC DANCE**
Yes, a lot of people think this area is only for anime and manga, but the back alley area is SUPER COOL so I’m glad you experienced it. And now I have DANCE MAGIC DANCE ✨ wedged in my head for today 😂
Ahhh I’m loving these tour videos! I collect the Tokidoki unicornos too and the one you got was super cute. My fiancée watched with me and said your hair reminded her of Spudgy then you saw a Spudgy dog!!! 🥺💗
Love love love this video. I think these style videos are my favourite. Just you wandering around seeing cool backstreets, and explaining some awesome food menus. I'd love to buy you a beer next year when I visit Japan!
I've been following you since 2010. We were on orders to Yongsan, South Korea. Now, we are going to Camp Zama, Japan. You are a wealth of information. Thank you!!! Because of you I took my kids to the cat cafe in Seoul, Gio Cat (I now have 3 sphynx cats...first time I ever saw one). I learned how to master the subway. I hope to some day meet you, you are AWESOME!
Can't get enough of this series! I probably will never visit Japan, but I just love seeing all the different regions and their unique vibes, and seeing you have fun exploring.
Must have felt like a glimpse into the past. Both good and bad. Life keeps flowing, and so should we.
Cant be the only one who got a bit teary seeing a spudgy. Definitely gonna check out this place when we get to return to Tokyo!
i got teary too!
you're not the only one.
Def not the only one 🥹
wipes away tears. yep, caught my feels big time.
Sweet little Spudgy dog.
Awww yeah, my favourite place in Tokyo🎉 I’m long overdue for a visit there! Thanks for reminding me🙌🏻🙌🏻
Check out LOU as well! The loaves are SO GOOD and it is such a crazy different atmosphere from the rest of Nakano~ snuggle your new kitten for me loveo
So happy you and Dan get to work together again!! This was lovely, and thank you for including Google Maps links in the description!
OMG It's Dan?!!! That's so neat!
@@juukyuchan It’s in the description! ☺️
When you said, "I got my Korean food and I got my Spudgy" you sounded so happy but it made cry 😔

me too, i was 15 when i first saw Martina, i love her so much, im 21 now 😁
Same! I've been watching for over 10 years now!! Love Martina and her fun videos!
That is so cool. I started watching EYK ten years ago and Martina is still educating and entertaining me today.

That’s so wonderful to hear! I just love Singapore can’t wait to visit again some days
@@KingKogi Cool! You will enjoy the food and sights here.
I often think of build a ladder too... it's a really great concept to keep in mind, thank you Martina
I really love this series. I was enjoying a slow breakfast this morning, and this was a perfect accompaniment to start off my day. Please take care of yourself, Martina!
Hurrah! Happy Sunday morning
Not me, enjoying every minute and then just BAWLING at the mention of the Spudgy-like dog at 16:20
I really like this "tokyo tour" format you are doing recently. It's less intense and packed with stuffs compared to other similar content on youtube, but the coziness feeling of it it a real winner for me.
I feel like Martina should come up with her own imaginary sticker designs like KOGI designed in a really cool way.
I absolutely loved this episode, I felt like I was running around with a friend and hanging out while checking out places I've never been! Absolutely lovely, Martina💕
I can't explain it but something about King Kogi videos that make me feel really nostalgic and happy, thanks for doing these and spreading joy

I love the Spudgy Haku dragon in the intro. What a beautiful representation of dear Spudgy.
So glad you liked it, I drew it after Spudgy passed away, felt right 💙
Not me in tears seeing a spudgy dog. Yes that's I call them 😂
I chatted with the owners too! Her daughter lived in Canada to go to school and we chatted about Spudgy dogs and their stubborn but loyal attitudes 💕
Ok, but Martina looks so good! Quality content, hydrated and thriving.
I am obsessed with the overalls! and the Labyrinth references! Sorry those needed an immediate hat-tip.

The overalls are from an awesome aussie brand called blackmilk! I love their patterns and designs! ^_^
Was about to comment on how your hair looks like Spudgy ears and then a wild Spudgy shows up at the park. I hope that made your day xx
I felt like a puppy dog all day and then I met the Spudgy 🥺

Good morning/evening Martina. Hope you had a good Sunday :)
