I think since Kodansha took over the license for the CLAMP titles published by Kodansha Japan, it's harder to get the other non Kodansha titles. The Angelic Layer ones are definitely OOP now!
Lovely video! Always great to see more love of CLAMP! Here's a great tip to get stickers off, which I learned when I worked in a comicbook shop... lighterfluid, the kind used to fill a zippo lighter. Carefully pour it over the sticker, slowly peel the edges and add another drop of fluid to the underside to help nullify the glue. Be patient when applying and peeling, and have a tissue (or old dried out make-up wipe) to catch any excess fluid & wipe away the glue residue. Good luck!!
Thank you for the tip! Most of the stickers came off fine but there is one that is stuck down with like packing tape so I don’t think that’s coming off at all
@@ChristyLou I can't recommend it enough. Try a little puddle of lighter fluid. I've managed to get ThriftBooks stickers off the spines of old manga. The most amazing success was a plastic & metal-strip security stricker that was inexplicably stuck on the inside page of a RG Veda (TokyoPop); I applied the fluid to a tissue and dabbed it on the reverse of the page... now I can't remember which page it was, because its as if it was never there. If you do give it a try, just go slowly x
You should look out for the Dark Horse omnibus editions of Cardcaptor Sakura that were released in between the Tokyopop and Kodansha collectors editions. They have a ton of colour pages matching the Dark Horse releases you own. Kodansha said the collector's editions would have a new translation, but it's just the Dark Horse translation, which is really just a re-edited Tokyopop translation. I've got the Chuang Yi (Singapore English) release of Tsubasa, which has a different translation.
I think Clampcaptor would be a good title for this series! And I love Clamp as well! So far I've collected all of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronical, Tsubasa World Chronical, xxxholic, xxxholic rei, chobits, angelic layer, kobato, wish, magic knight rayearth, suki, clover, legal drug shirahime- syo, legend of Chun hang, the one I love, Okimono Kimono and Cardcaptor Sakura. I've recently started collecting drug and drop and rg veda and looking forward to purchasing the rest of their manga soon!
love this! i just recently been on a hunt for clamp manga. i haven’t read any of their works yet so i’m excited to watch your videos as i go along in my journey :)
I suggest if you haven't yet read Clover by CLAMP as well, some like it and some don't. I loved it i thought it was so poetic and different compared to other manga. I do wish it was just longer!
@@ChristyLou thats what I have and its so worth it! It comes with tons of beautiful color pages, love the art in this so much. I hope you'll enjoy it too!
I love this idea! Clamp was one of my first forays into manga as well :) Cardcaptor Sakura and Rayearth hold special places in my heart. That sucks about the Sakura special editions being a bit lower quality...I’ve been eyeing them for a while 👀 I haven’t read much from Clamp in recent years though so I’m excited to see your reviews!
I think I remember them saying that the Special editions of CCS had a new translation but I can’t find any info on that anymore. I’m eventually going to compare them to my old Tokyopop ones to see if there is any difference.
This sounds really cool. 💜 The darkhorse omnibus' for cardcaptor sakura were so good. The paper quality was great and it had multiple color pages. Sadly they decided to discontinue it for this newer version.
this video was SO informative and cool! i love hearing about what people are passionate about in their manga reading. 😊 just such a good video! i hope you have fun (i know you will lol) on this journey! looking forward to the vlogs!
I really should read more of CLAMPs popular works. Really excited for all your videos (not just about clamp) My personal fav of theirs' is Clover, but mostly for the art
wish and those angelic layer omnibuses are so hard to find!

I’m so excited to hear your thoughts on Tokyo Babylon!! That’s one I haven’t read.
Spoiler alert: it’s really good lol

Clover is on the list! I really want to get the really nice hardcover collector's version!

Tsubasa is CLAMP’s best-selling manga but Cardcaptor Sakura is definitely their most popular series in the United States
