Manga collecting can become a really expensive hobby really fast, so I'm very glad to see someone taking steps towards taking a healthier approach to the hobby. It's important to recognize that just buying to keep up with a bunch of different series or whatever is hot right now isn't always viable, but it's a very easy hole to fall in to. @@tudormiller887 Sometimes it's nice to have some stuffin a buffer to read later, I know I have a few series on my shelves that I plan to get to eventually, and it's nice to have them there so I don't forget about them, or don't have to contend with aftermarket prices in case something goes out of print. Ultimately, how other people approach having unread manga is their own business, I don't know how many people there are that really do buy a ton just for the sake of having it, but they'll probably do that with or without anyone else's input 🤷♀
A very respectable decision. When I found your channel recently I was already pleasantly surprised to finally find a channel that was not only about 50+ volume monthly hauls or something. Manga hauls can be addicting to watch (and probably to do) and in some cases they are a nice way to find new series but in the end it is much more enjoyable to watch content about really reading manga rather than buying it. Good luck with this route! As someone who has read almost every single volume in my manga shelf I can say that it is also really nice feeling to not have your room full of unread volumes that you don't really have a connection to yet ^^
I also don't really like it when I see a channel that is mostly hauls. I don't do them too often normally, but hopefully I can find some fun ways to talk about the manga I have read!
Best of luck on your manga ban! I put strict limitations on my manga buying in order to keep it all under control. Mostly for finance reasons but also because I'm limited for space. I have a rule of always unhauling series I either didn't like, thought was ok or perhaps enjoyed but have no attachment to the series or desire to keep or re-read it. To do that I have to make sure I'm actively keeping on top of reading the manga I own and not buying too much so I can keep up. My main issue is ending up with stacks of manga I need to unhaul (because I'm lazy) so I'm currently on a ban until I sell my current unhaul stack lol. Resisting the temptation of shiny new manga sure isn't easy though lol!
I'm pretty good about picking up stuff that I know I'm going to like but I do have some stuff that I need to unhaul. Hopefully I can have a close to clean slate soon!

It's such an amazing manga ❤
I have a hard time getting rid of things even if I don't like them, in general, so getting rid of manga is super hard! There are a few series that I might get rid of or stop collecting because I"m not happy with their directions, but who knows. I haven't read Nausicaa, but I've seen the movie!
@@ChristyLou I always recommend this manga because Nausicaä is my favorite female character of all time (second is Yona btw) and the movie doesn't even cover 1/3 and changed a lot, so it's definitely worth reading if you liked the movie and want to get more into the amazing world building and characters :)
I feel that it's a great decision! I find myself too putting myself on a manga and figure ban. I already feel like I have so much in my collection and don't really feel as excited ,when I get something since so much is coming in all the time if that makes sense. I, too, have preorders for the several series I am following but once I receive them, that will be it for me. I hope I have the willpower to see this ban through. Awesome video, as always! It would be nice to see more videos where you review series or talk about them more. Haul videos are nice, but I like to hear peoples thoughts on series even more. I'm also trying not to buy more manga until I catch up on alot of my series. Its good to have a specific goal (like reading 100) before buying more. That way you have a concrete goal to work for. I'll join you on your manga buying ban, lol. I have so much to catch up on, such as Vampire Knight, Monkey High, Haikyuu, Fruits Basket, and many smaller series. My goal is to see how much I can read before the Right Stuf birthday sale in the end of June, and even then I have a budget to how much I can spend. By the way, I've been loving My Special One as well. I wish more people get into this series! Well anyway, good luck! ^-^
It's a big wake up call when you realize you have to pay other bills and run out of space lol. I knew I was going to like My Special One because I like stories about idols, but volume 2 especially was really heartfelt! I found myself tearing up reading it!
