Hi, Can you clarify what I need to do to use my HP 63 cartridges in any HP5258 printer, I have 2 HP5258 printers, when do I need to reset the printer? the printer Cartridge Protection is Off on the printer now. I refilled the black cartridge and it does not print and it is NOT clogged, Thanks. Is it true that if the printer Cartridge Protection is On when using the cartridge for the 1st time that cartridge can only be refilled and reused on the one printer and will not work on any others? When do you reset the printer to factory settings?
Thank you! What would be the signs if i pierced the filter at the bottom. I think that is what happened because whenever i fill it with ink even a little it blends out and drips out of the print head :(
Kevin's Ink & More yup, I think I punctured it then. Basically I fill it, it prints a few and then the print head is filled with so much ink but is spotty on the page and can’t even print a full barcode out. I also think I overfilled it because when I shook it I could hear sloshing of liquid around. I looked at some videos and realized that I probably injected 8ml into a sponge that wasn’t in need of ink and was just clogged. Now my biggest worry is that the ink is going to fill up the waste too quickly and I’ll lose the printer
HELP!!! I re-filled my cartridges as per your video. They leaked a lot. I left overnight, but my printer display is showing that the colour cartridge is empty and the black is 1/4 full. It is printing, but terrible quality and colours are all mixed up. HELP!!!!!
Hp guys make it really hard to open the top lid of the cartridge than the canon cartridges. It took a small saw and much effort to open the lid and inside are very small sponges. In one tutorial u made sponge less cartridges. Will not the ink leak without the sponge to hold the ink?
You can still cut it with a utility knife. Just to be sure to push very hard. It's about 3 times harder than cutting a Canon cartridge. For the spongeless cartridge, there is a small pressure regulator on the new cover, so it will adjust the ink pressure like the sponge.
You need something to control the pressure. Otherwise, it will leak. You can either use a specially-made cover equipped with a pressure regulator or put the sponge back.
It will leak by itself from the printhead. You will need one of these: www.bchtechnologies.com/mod-kits/for-hp/modification-kit-for-making-spongeless-cartridge-with-canon-pg-240-pg-245.html
Yes, search for one-way flow damper. You need to make a one-way damper. However, you need to make it small enough to fit in the cartridge. Also, most flow dampers are designed for fluid. You need to make everything very precise to work with air. Good luck. It you can't make it that small, you can extend it to a tube and supply regulated air through a tube.
I LOVE YOU MAN! I just did this to my tri color hp63 cartridge. It worked beautifully! Wow just wow! This video saved me 80% of cost.

How do you reset ink level indication ?
You don’t need to.

The filter won’t affect the ink flow. If you puncture the filter, the cartridge will clog after a few pages.

I wasted 19 dollars tax not included on this product, and my envy 100 still couldn't print...... its frustrating
