    Great vid. I agree with your top 5 and would add wraparound hand guards to the list. Unless you want to look pro, then get the perch mounted ones, which break every time you look at them. But hey, you'll look pro. I have one difference of opinion though. I run a plastic (Hyde) front disk guard for two reasons. Its not your usual flimsy plastic guard and is actually very stiff. But the advantage over steel is it tends to glance and slide rather than hook on rocks. Secondly, it wraps around and covers the caliper. I've see a lot of mates have their rides ended because the caliper took a big rock slap and then said no more for me today!

      I’ve got to look into the Hyde front guard you mentioned. I agree completely with the reason why you would run a tough polymer up front over aluminum or another metal! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing your thoughts!!!

    I've been very impressed with the stock radiator setup for the newer KTM/Husky/GasGas bikes (compared to previous years). However, solid billet style ones are definitely a must for the rocks. Curious about the absence of bark busters - less for trees, but for for handlebar/lever protection in falls. But all the listed items were a must, as well! 🤘 Good video, as always

    • @SeatTime

      The way we have seen bark busters, wrap arounds or flags evolve has been interesting. I don't think they're necessary to 'keep the bike running', but they are needed for safety and potential breakage. I have thoughts and they are making heir way into a video soon.

      yeah my main issue with my TM is the radiator mounting, they are built to be floating away from the frame by about 3/4 an inch stock, even with bullet proof guards it took one good drop to get rid of the gap and destroy one of the mounts on the guard and radiator, still works though so I let it be (might end up getting rid of the dame because my fairing is unsupported a good amount so its a little floppy, if I do I will just put aluminum welded to the guard between it and the frame with some rubber)

    • @SeatTime
      @SeatTime  2 года назад

      Did you contact Bullet Proof about that? Maybe there’s a chance for your feedback to help them make a better product. As well, maybe there’s a need for more bracing for those TM radiators specifically.

      @@SeatTime they stopped making them so they wouldn't do the warranty, and yeah if I do fix it i'll put more bracing

    Fork guards over hand guards? Levers are way more vulnerable.

    • @SeatTime
      @SeatTime  3 года назад

      Let's say you brake a lever, a few zip ties (or a hose clamp) and a wrench you can ride out "fairly easy". Some of the dents pooping up on fork legs these days are keeping the bike in a compressed state. That will keep the bike much harder to ride out.
      Just wait till the "Nice to have" video if no hand guards was an issue ;)

      AGREE. Wrap Arounds over fork guards.
      My hands are way more valuable than the forks or the levers. If I break a hand I won't ride out or for weeks maybe forever depending on how bad.
      They are like a helmet but mounts on the bike. Like boots or helmet, I won't ride w/o them.
      Esp hard enduro single track in the woods.
      BUT Great Video BTW.

    Great video! I'm stuck between the Bullet proof design radiator gaurds and the p-tech. Any thoughts? I like the BPD but I've has people say they don't protect the sides?

    • @SeatTime
      @SeatTime  2 года назад +1

      If price makes a difference, go with works for your wallet. If price doesn't matter, the P-Tech looks to have a bit more side protection, but less material. It's a tough call, and I know I have some dings and dents in my radiators. Those might be there regardless of the protection I ran. Hope that helps you make a decision. Enjoy #GettingSeattime!!!!
