    The cruelty of the US health system. Here in Australia we have a Universal Healthcare system and Pharmaceutical Benefits scheme. You can still have Private Health Insurance if you want, though it's not needed. General Practitioners and Specialist services are paid for by our Universal Healthcare and ALL Hospital costs (including surgery) are similarly covered. All of our prescriptions costs us $30, if retired or unemployed its $6.30. Indeed, in my state of Victoria, ALl of my HIV medications are completely free. It's so unfair that the US, a first world nation, does not have a Universal Healthcare system like all other first world nations.
    Raif you're working your arse off - we don't mind if one of your reports is a few days late - your wellbeing is more important and your curated news is invaluable!
    Thanks mate!

      Thank you my friend. I’m truly delirious this morning lol. And yes, I have to agree, the healthcare system in this country is archaic and dominated by political and financial interests that have no business deciding the healthcare rate of millions of American people. I’m cynical/realist? in that I presume a catastrophe will be what is needed to shake the nation out of its ambivalence to the current system.

      @@andrewgurney03031976 I think N.T. offers free HIV meds too, the rest of the country has to pay the PBS rate, be it full or concessional. Are you other meds covered by the PBS ? From your writing Andrew, it sounds like you have a few challenges running concurrently! I hope all is going well with you!

    my dear
    You say that if the virus is dormant, despite that, some parts of the virus cause serious infections. Is this true or I did not understand well?

    • @RaifDerrazi
      @RaifDerrazi  8 месяцев назад +5

      The ‘dormant’ or latent virus releases proteins that are otherwise harmless. However, our immune system sees these proteins and attacks them, this process puts a mild but constant stress on the immune system. Because of this, over time, we are at increased risk of developing possible health consequences. It is by NO means, guaranteed, it’s just an increased likelihood. It’s our job to adapt our lives to gives us the best chances of health. Whether that means, diet, exercise, physical activity, supplementation, sleep, hydration, mental stimulation, spiritual well-being etc. these things have a much bigger impact on our overall-health over time

    Raif, greeting, I have been watching your video and I need your advice comment, I am dating a 30-year-old beautiful lady. We have dated for 4 months and in the 3rd month. We started having unprotected sex. She didn't tell me, she's Hiv positive. I found out cause I went to take something from her car and noticed a supplement drug I used to take and as I opened to take the drug. I noticed it was a different drug and I searched the drug name on Google and found it's a Hiv drug. I lost my mind and also want to beat her but I didn't. She said, she's undetected 20cps. And she checked her viral load on results on the same month we started having unprotected sex. Please I love her but advice me, cause I have stop picking her calls and I hate to see her in this pain

      @RaifDerrazi  8 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks Saad. Truly, you should be having this conversation with her, not me. And it's too bad you felt the need to go through her belongings. As Saad said, if she's undetectable, she is of 0 risk to you or your health. At this point, you have done more damage to your relationship than she has.

    • @LaraKatarina
      @LaraKatarina 8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Raif, I find your answer very ignorant. Maybe this men is hurt by that that someone who he has been dating and that person didn’t share this information with him. He did’t have a chance to hear it from her and to make his own decision. Why is she hiding then if it is not so big deal and she is undetectable? Why is the medicine in the different box? Why hiding? And then you accuse him that he has done more damage. This is so ignorant from you.

    • @RaifDerrazi
      @RaifDerrazi  8 месяцев назад +2

      @@LaraKatarina local law where I live defends her right to medical privacy. Especially in the case where her living with HIV is undetectable and it is no longer transmissible it has no bearing on his health. Whether she decides to disclose and how he feels about that is a personal matter. And ur question of ‘why is she hiding’? Well, he might have that answer if he talked to her about it. I’ve said nothing ignorant. He says he loves her but he’s ignoring her and not talking to her and asked for my advice. I gave it.

      @@LaraKatarinaYou are just to much.
      U=U, in that case it's up to her disclose to him something or not. It's their relationship not ours
      My girlfriend in first few months of dating didn't told me she is a celiac and lactose intolerant, ofcourse I wasn't angry after she told me few months later
      Same approach goes for people who are undetectable and on medication .
