- The HIV ancestor virus has been snipped from monkeys using “genetic scissors” in a breakthrough that could lead to a cure in humans.
Researchers managed to remove SIV (simian immunodeficiency virus) in cells and tissues in rhesus macaques using genetic editing. Scientists now hope a similar technique can be used to permanently remove HIV from humans.
Dr David Bull and Dr Renee Hoenderkamp speak with an ambassador of Saving Lives HIV charity, Peter Bates, about what this means to people currently living with HIV.

My idea in order to cure is like that:
Virus mutates a lot. We need to stop its mutation at least on its surface protein antigens. If we can force the virus to produce same antigen on its surface via a mRNA vaccine or a drug and wait till all viruses has same antigen on their surfaces and after that to the patient we can give specific antibodies in order to demolish viruses because anymore they expressed same specific antigens on its surfaces.

I got all symptoms but tests are negative with rapid kit.
My lymph high 50.6% and Gran low 40.2.
Smell cigarettes when no one smoking around. Heavy ears irritated by sharp noise. Toe and finger tingling and burning sensation. Lost hand and legs muscles but weight remain same. Hard stool. Dry itchy eyes. Sensitive gums. Numbness in hands. Discolored hand nail. Ankle joint pain.
I remember the panic back in the late 80s, when it was a guaranteed death sentence.
Amazing how quickly science has progressed since.
I remember back in nursing school in 1983, there was this strange and odd illness that was deadly. No one knew is its pathology and people were very scared. We had to ware a space suit type isolation suit and go into an isolation room to work on a patient with this odd and frightening illness. I remember the look in his eyes that still haunts me to this day. I was thinking about those days so long while listening to this video and saying a silent prayer for the victims.

I then became an HIV expert and worked in research and clinical medicine for almost 2 decades. To date, only 3 people have been medically cured (HIV removed from the body). Those were patients who had cancer, underwent radiation therapy to kill off all their white cells, and then given bone marrow grafts from HIV-free patients. There are NO OTHER documented cases of a total "cure" from HIV. By cure, that means the virus is no longer in the body. Any other definition is NOT a cure, but treatment. So these comments about folks having been cured are just BS nonsense. So far, science has not found a safe and effective cure for HIV. Those bone marrow replacements were for patients already dying of cancer which would never be used on a patient with HIV and no cancer. People you need to read up on the facts and stop being so gullible. Even people with high education (MDs, Lawyers, etc.) can be snake oil salesmen when it comes to $$$$$$$.

What there is is control via taking prescribed anti-viral medication regularly to reach the stage of non-detectable, following which to continue taking the medication regularly. If you stop you will become HIV positive again leading to full blown AIDS.
