He was projected to go 18th in ESPN mock draft. And he's effective offensively without the ball like he said.

Not as athletic but hopefully a little better of a 3 point shooter (we will see).

@@johnjacobs5766 Johnny Furphy is definitely as athletic as Gordon Hayward.... but I actually think Hayward is a decent NBA comp for Furphy, and not just because he's also a white dude.
Like a young Gordon Hayward, Furphy is a really solid all-round player. Being Australian, Furphy has great fundamentals.... because that's how we are taught to play here in Australia. Australian basketball is about good fundamentals, trying hard on defense, hustle, and most importantly.... playing unselfish TEAM basketball, with lots of passing, cutting, and making the "right play" versus isolation heavy hero-ball that a lot of American players slip into from playing AAU.
I think Joe Ingles is another good NBA comp for Furphy. Unfortunately most NBA fans never got to see young Joe Ingles, because he only came into the NBA as a 27-year-old rookie.... but Ingles was actually really athletic when he was younger playing in the Australian NBL.
Just like Furphy, young Joe Ingles would surprise people with his athleticism, and he would dunk on everyone who wasn't paying attention. Furphy is lanky and has long arms like Ingles, and like Ingles he has a smooth shooting stroke, reads the game well, makes great passes, reads passing lanes well defensively, gets deflections, gets blocks, makes the right reads in transition, runs the floor well, and is an unselfish player who makes winning, unselfish plays.

He could be a viable scorer if he runs the floor well. Will take a couple years of weight training and work on his defensive skills to be a more complete player.

You'll like him. He works hard. Floor burn effort guy. Will get better each and every opportunity. Ultra quick release and great size. For his age he is already pretty strong. But he'll need to fill out for sure!
