Hello, is a bit of case scoring like yours okay to run? My oil pump seems just a little bit stiff not too much can't feel any real binding but my finger slips off it when I try rotating by hand but when I use the pin and get grip its okay Let me know please! Thank you
I mean as long as there's no grooves you're fine. Typically you might see a little bit of metal to metal wear. But that's always its a good idea to use an oil with a good zinc content. Mobil One T4 10/40 and V-Twin 20/50 both have it. I use motul 5100.15/50 these days though. You might want to check for something binding. How does it feel if you out the gear on it and spin it? It should move fairly freely.
@Fixin2Ride-Official- it moves okay with the gear on it, it feels kind of like when you turn the output shaft if that makes sense I'm a bit worried to run it like this, it's the higher rpms I'm worried about can I sand the oil pump slot out bit by but till it feels better or shall I leave it? Because more space = less pressure it only needs about 0.3 mill at the very least the bottom end is partially together held together with a few bolts thought I'd do some research prior to a full completion thank you bro
@Fixin2Ride-Official- I have assembly lube on it. it's more sticky than oil, but it doesn't hold this amount of friction I'm going to keep spinning it by hand and I'll take it apart if I see the slightest of metal shaving I may sand it down with 320 and work my way up to 1400 to smoothen it
Oh no. Its 100%.the assy lube. That stuff is like motor honey! Lol. If you took it apart and cleaned all that off and just used engine oil it would spin normal.

@boostedadrenaline2884 are you putting it together with the case gasket on and torturing it down and have oil in it?
