Actually, it's not. Media makes it seem that way, but its fine. The real issue are media outlets trying to make it sound like the most American game ever is triggered, systemic racists owned, and doesn't deserve its 200 years of slavery even though black men get paid $33M a year.
It's just the world, not baseball.

Baseball in the United States had a long history of racism at the professional level almost from its inception, excluding anyone who was non-white. As a result, the Negro Leagues formed and included many players who could've played at the big league level, or even been dominant there. Understand that this was systemic racism in which white players refused to take the field with black guys, or a skipper refused to play them, fans actively cursed and spat at them, and owners colluded to keep them excluded as long as possible. It would not begin to change until Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers of the National League in 1947, and then Larry Doby did so a few months later with the Cleveland Indians of the American League. However, it was really more of a trickle at first and the Red Sox's owner Tom Yawkey shamefully did not integrate until 1959 right after the Detroit Tigers. Many people believe it still is. Despite the fact that while there are fewer and fewer black players today and the majors becoming more and more "latinized" there are few if any Latino managers and front office decision makers.
