Earthbound Easy first attack on Starmen

- In Earthbound for Super Nintendo if you know how to sneak up on a Starman enemy, it's easy to jump them every time. Oddly enough if you approach them from the front you always have the advantage. This is especially important if you're grinding for the elusive Sword of Kings!

Did exactly that on last nights stream. It was a crazy journey getting the Sword of Kings!
Also, I like how in Mother 2 Deluxe you can distinguish Super Starmen from other ones, making the grind a little easier, since if you fight groups of enemies only one of their items is potentially up for grabs. The Sword of Kings grind is an arduous one, but congrats on getting it!
@@MegaHarv Oh yeah! That's the best part about enemies having unique overworld sprites.
I remember discovering a similar strategy: turn around before the starman&supers teleport behind you.
Also another few tips : neutralizer is useful as Starman supers always have a shield up, get Poo to use mirror when a nuclear reactor enters the scene as you can heal the whole party then fight or run to ovoid the explosion attack,and call Mach pizza before entering.

I've had the 2 Sword of Kings drop happen to me before. It's a bit of a WTF moment since it's not like you can even sell it. It's a memento for storage. Mirror on the Reactor Robots is the best use I found for for Mirror, and I never think to use Neutralizer on Starman Super. Good tips!
Don't forget to bring the homerun (I think) bat so you can cheese the game and insta-win the battles. You'll get the sword really damn quick that way.
Oh wait, do you mean the Casey Bat? You know it never occurred to me to use the Casey Bat for the express purpose of getting instant wins in battles as it has an extremely high Offensive Stat. That's a great idea!

I grinded this place for about 10 hours... ended up at level 89... but finally got the sword of kings.
Congrats on getting it! Never in a game has a missable item ever agitated me so much, Poo not having a weapon is like a popcorn kernel stuck in my brain. I don't typically go out of my way for it anymore, I'm as over it as I'll ever get

Yeah, first time i played earthbound i was like... "Why poo doesn't have a weapon" because i didn't knew about rare drops.
when i discovered about it was 🗿 Waoh cool his ONLY weapon is behind a narrow chance.
Just last year i decided to grind for all rate stuff in the game, at the end of all i had 3 level 99 characters in the "go back to onet and get the meteorite" part, what a ride!
@@theimperfectgod7140 I really wish that Final Starman also dropped Sword of Kings, or some other weapon for Poo. Seems like a wasted opportunity to me. Good work though!

If you equip Ness with the Casey bat, have a high enough level (but not crazy high), and get that green swirl, you'll instakill them. Fastest method to get the Sword of Kings 🗡️
Agreed, Casey Bat is great for only this purpose
At that point, you can glitch a magic truffle on Poo and get a weapon with 80 offense.
And automatically killing before battle. Icing on the cake :3
And I love cake!

That's how I got the sword of Kings I just literally keep attacking Starman super by the way they are gold and you can actually get their best weapon even if the screen does turn green

Here is a better tip, You actually wanna encounter them from the side! It guarantees a back attack
I tried to get the sword of kings for two hours straight, still didn't get it
I've been there, just keep at it!
It's a 1/128 chance, so keep at it!
