I've managed to tag on public Notion pages to my main site using this, and while I was worried that using my root domain name would cause a conflict with my main site, because of the pretty URL addition it works perfectly. I can even integrate it into the menu system on my main site for a smooth user experience. Thanks a million!
Hey Alastair - how were you able to do this? I also want to integrate it on the menu system on my main site, but it only seems to work by replacing my main site with the Notion page. Did you use subdomains to get around this? Or what did you enter into the code generator?
@@shamayagaron5680 Ah, I seem to have cracked the subdomain option. When I add a subdomain in Fruition, it won't give me the code. The Copy the Code button stays greyed out. So I generated the code with the root address, then in the code, added the subdomain to the root address. Then I added a worker and route with the subdomain address in Cloudflare using this code, as in the instructions, and bingo. Just be careful when you're editing the code: I introduced a typo without realising and went round in circles a while wondering why it wasn't working 🤣🤷🏼♂️
Hey Dimitris! Cloudflare no longer shows Manage Workers as an option (they changed their interface). Now it asks if you want to Create a Service. Where do I paste the script?

Verify the IP address of your origin server is correct, is not a Cloudflare IP and has not recently been changed by your hosting provider Remove any blank spaces before and after the IP address Wait a few minutes and try again

Hey Mack! If you're looking for ways to use Notion to make an entire website, there's another way you can try too - by using notion as a CMS. @@Wildenfree That should be possible if you create a CNAME record with you subdomain in your Cloudflare DNS to point to the route of your worker. I'm actually trying to figure out how to do this myself at the moment.

@@pathfinder112 You're very welcome! From what I understand for 'blocks' you are referring to different pages in Notion? If that's the case, every new page you create will need to have its own subpage link in the script otherwise some pages will end up having the original Notion URL.

If I build a website in Notion and try to optimize it for SEO will the search engines treat it the same way as a website that is done in Workdpress, Wix or other "normal" website builders? Hi Dimitris - I currently have my business website hosted on DreamHost and managed with WordPress. I have been dying to rebrand and restructure my website for some time now so discovering Fruition seems to come at an opportune time. I am concerned that external websites that have linked to specific articles on my page will have broken links. Is there a way to manage this, or should I keep to WordPress?
For established business websites I would suggest staying with your Wordpress solution especially if you have blog posts that are ranking on search engines. Notion is not really a website builder so it's not ideal for Search Engine Optimisation. Now, if your business website is very simple and purely for informational purposes then switching to Notion might be a good option. Regarding broken links, Fruition offers a 'pretty links' feature (I demonstrate this on my other video which is linked in the description above) and allows you to create links for subpages, articles etc. It is a manual process though so if you have many articles it will take quite some time. If you need any further help, I offer both development and consultation services so feel free to reach out at any time.

Once you registered your notion page to a domain can you change the notion page you added? I mean, keep the domain and change the page it would be redirecting you to? At first it worked for me but now I want my domain to point to another notion page and I can't change it...
I haven't personally tried it but it should work (I've seen someone else do it). You will just have to configure your subdomain in the cloudflare DNS settings. There are many tutorials on how to do it if you search on youtube for 'Cloudflare Subdomain'. All the other steps should be the same.
Notion is not really made for building websites so it doesn't have all the features you need (e.g Meta data fields etc) in order to rank on search engines. I would recommend using the custom domain solution for informational websites, support/documentation websites, database style websites, portals and any type of static site that you don't really care about ranking on Google.

Great video however in 2022, most of these steps are outdated. Cloudfare has changed SIGNIFICANTLY and following the video as is or using the Fruitionsite instructions will no longer yield a cleaner URL unfortunately! These steps or tutorial needs major updating unfortunately!

Yes, it should be 1.1.1.1 but you have to create a new site on Cloudflare. Sometimes it might not work from the first time.

If privacy is a concern then maybe a new account will work best. Unfortunately, I'm not sure about the second question.

Yes, you should be able to do that by re-generating the Fruition script with your new Notion page details.

I haven't personally tried it but it should work (I've seen someone else do it). You will just have to configure your subdomain in the cloudflare DNS settings. There are many tutorials on how to do it if you search on youtube for 'Cloudflare Subdomain'. All the other steps should be the same.

Hello Dimitris, my website doesn't appear on google search, is it due to the Notion?
Notion is not really made for building websites so it doesn't have all the features you need (e.g Meta data fields etc) in order to rank on search engines. I would recommend using the custom domain solution for informational websites, support/documentation websites, database style websites, portals and any type of static site that you don't really care about ranking on Google.

Great video however in 2022, most of these steps are outdated. Cloudfare has changed SIGNIFICANTLY and following the video as is or using the Fruitionsite instructions will no longer yield a cleaner URL unfortunately! These steps or tutorial needs major updating unfortunately!

Hello Dimiris, I did all the steps right with you but when I go to my domain name it doesn't show the linked web notion page, it only works when I go to cloudflare>>worker>>Blue Box With Arrow to the right.. I would appreciate your help..Thanks
