Overlord I like rattlesnakes more than other snakes because they really do do a lot of warning with their rattles for you to stay away before they attack. They are still quite afraid of you. They’ll only attack if they absolutely must.

Hunter Allen I don't know what kinda rattle snakes these were but if they are like the diamondback rattle snakes and others around me... they have a single mate for the female but 2+ males for one female leads to fights. You would have seen them rising to to size the other, a kinda dancing motion, then headbutts (since the snakes know if they bite they would kill each other with venom). But other snakes mate in masses like this but you would see 30+ snakes kinda staking on the females.

Rattlesnakes only strike when they absolutely need to. If they aren't hunting, then it's to protect themselves. But even then, biting is their last resort; That venom can't just be wasted, that's their survival tool. Likely, those three that struck saw the drone as a threat, and when their rattling didn't scare it off, they switched to their last resort.
Might have been a dry bite too, since as you said their venom is valuable I kinda think this shows just how far a rattler will go to avoid biting. From what I've heard people who get bit by them either catch them completely off guard or are being stupid and antagonizing them.

Nothing in this world makes my skin crawl and fill me with a sense of dread more than hearing a rattlesnake in person. Hearing it on camera doesn't do it justice.
Overlord I like rattlesnakes more than other snakes because they really do do a lot of warning with their rattles for you to stay away before they attack. They are still quite afraid of you. They’ll only attack if they absolutely must.

Hunter Allen I don't know what kinda rattle snakes these were but if they are like the diamondback rattle snakes and others around me... they have a single mate for the female but 2+ males for one female leads to fights. You would have seen them rising to to size the other, a kinda dancing motion, then headbutts (since the snakes know if they bite they would kill each other with venom). But other snakes mate in masses like this but you would see 30+ snakes kinda staking on the females.

Rattlesnakes only strike when they absolutely need to. If they aren't hunting, then it's to protect themselves. But even then, biting is their last resort; That venom can't just be wasted, that's their survival tool. Likely, those three that struck saw the drone as a threat, and when their rattling didn't scare it off, they switched to their last resort.
Might have been a dry bite too, since as you said their venom is valuable I kinda think this shows just how far a rattler will go to avoid biting. From what I've heard people who get bit by them either catch them completely off guard or are being stupid and antagonizing them.

I'm surprised none of them even tried to strike until 2 minutes in. It just goes to show that these creatures are peaceful and will try to flee from danger if they can. They only strike as a last resort.
