So i had too watch skateboarding movies on VHS then i remember a friend of my brothers much older had Ban This a video that basically changed my life ! Lord behold Paulo Diaz was the star of Ban This part ! I really fell in love with skateboarding then . Eventually when i was 18 i moved too L.A. California in 1992. Anyway i really started skateboarding in 2001 , Lord behold i meant Paulo Diaz he lived near me we started skateboarding together and are still great friends for Life he's like a brother too me , I learned so much from you Paulo . One of the most humble human beings I've ever met. That's why you r a master at what you do . i am forever grateful too know you !!! Much Love and Respect Paulo ." Eugene ".
You’re absolutely right man. I can attest to your statement. He is tenacious when he has to be but the most humble dude I know. God be with you Paulo where ever life’s taken you.
Dude,,our era was epic cause we were middle school skaters. I’m probably 6 months younger then you and I also started skating in 6th grade. -stale I’m 1987 -Ollie’s and almos5 landing kick flips in 1988 -1989 kick flips and backside kick flips over manholes, Nose and tail slides,,,finally finished the year w/ impossible and learning tre flips And 50/50 on benches.. 1990&1991 were my last two years skating before I quit for 15 years But man we were good. In our primes. My favs were catching backside kickflips high. Nose blunts slides and gnarly curb skating. 180 fakie Nose grinds and 25 tre flips everyday. And this was on 10” boards too.. I had a Alva JustinLynvh(bigBird) And Gonz 1st bLind deck. I loved those bLind shaped decks for sure... You have a cool Paulo story.. that Video were he talks about Stacy Is what me and homies called the Paulo Nollie video. Dudes hollies were absolute perfection. Kinda like JasonLee/Jovante tre flips Or dannySargent curb slappys. Awesome!
That Blunt slide famine out was gnarly And soo brand new.. We GenX did skate like this in late 80’s. It was all good cause we were bout to evolve in. 1-2 years into someth8ng special.. I liked this era a lot.. I still at 50 years old use these older vids for ore session psyche. Thank you paulo for being so dope.
This was such a trippy, experimental period in skating. Just pure gold.
