Thank you! Good to see you again too! Say hi to your son for me. And keep up the great work on your channel, your videos are so much better than mine were when I first started! lol
Oh nice! I need to test the torpor running, because if they come back pretty quickly, it might be much more viable to tame a rex without a trap in Ark Survival Ascended. Every time I tried taming a Rex in Ark Survival Evolved without a trap, it ran off into the ocean and got itself eaten by sharks lol.
I haven't tried this on official, but has anyone else run into issues with Rexes stepping over 1-foundation-high Rex traps on official? I've done extensive testing on single-player, and as long as you get the Rex onto a foundation so uneven ground doesn't give them a boost, I've never had an issue. If you have issues with this, you can use the same trap design and just make each wall 1 more story higher. Does this trap work for you if you do that?
Thanks!! And that's a great question! The devs just announced that the Ark Survival Ascended Xbox Series X/S launch was delayed in getting verified by Xbox so it's expected the week of Thanksgiving now.
LOL, @coleparmenter, you sure called that! They just announced that Ark Survival Ascended is now expected to release in early December! Hopefully that means in about a week though!
Just as I was finishbed building this, the 150 rex I had my eye on wandered a little too close and i had to make a run for it. It followed a wild dino in the the trap from the other direction and got stuck in the bear trap, so I flew back down and closed the door. Unfortunately, as I was moving my argy out of the way so i could see to make sure I wasn't being snuck up on by something else, I realized it was not trapped properly and it walked right out and started monching me. I somehow managed to get it back in and just stayed on the side I knew it couldn't get to me from and shot it with tranqs till it zonked out. Perfect tame. I'm guessing the doors have to be on either side of the rex for the trap to work properly, so if it comes in from the other direction, it won't be trapped from both sides.
OMG that sounds scary! Well done still getting the perfect tame though! The rex does need to be right in the middle of the trap when it hits the bear trap, which is why we put it on the back. But I'm glad you still pulled off the tame even though the Rex went in backwards! I'm working on a new mobile Rex trap design that will be even easier to aim the Rex into. Keep an eye out for that.
Great idea - I’m certainly gonna give it a go. Keep up with the good content 😊
this trap is awesome, great thinking using the gate like that, super big brain move
Thanks so much! It took a while to figure it out but I hope it helps a lot of people trap rexes of their own!
Nice trap idea. Thx for the vid ASG :)
I'm happy to help! Has this Rex trap been working for you?
ASG!! Good to see you again!! 😊

@@ArkSurvivalGuide I've had some great mentors like you to learn from! Alex is stoked to hear from you btw and says hello back!
My mom and I still think you're the king of tutorials and have the perfect voice for what you do :)
I've seen decent amount of vids and I think I'm gonna build myself in a trap cause it seems like even when they torp run they come back 1:29

How do you guys manage this? The rexes on ASA Official always step over anything that is only one wall high, same for allos.

easiest way to tame them is jsut to kite them and shoot them with arrows, I gave up on traps. building some cover for yourself is a good idea however.
Vou usar esse tutorial para domar Rex ,vai me ajudar muito ❤
Great video! Do you know the latest on an xbox release date?

2042 🤷🏻
So probably December for Playstation lol
Hi, @emmyfischer307, it looks like Ark Survival Ascended has released on Xbox. Have you gotten to play it yet?

Can’t wait to try this! I need to find a female for my male Rex lol
Nice! How did this new Rex trap work for you?
