I was wondering if you'd ever come back to RUclips! Your channel has been the most important factor in determining my sense of fashion in my adult life
Hey you were my guide to selvedge denim. I watched a lot of your old videos to learn about it and was really disappointed to see you havent posted in months. I own 3 pairs of selvedge jeans now. Nice to see you back. Love from 🇮🇳India
1. You look great bro! 2. Hope you and the fam are doing well! 3. My denim collection has come a long way since your previous uploads and I have you (and a few other RUclipsrs) to thank for that. Great to see you making content!
@@CeeAreDee 7 pairs, gave one to my brother and current rotation is two or three right now. My Left field NYC Atlas pair are coming in nicely at about 15 months of wear. It’s a long game and I don’t want to have a closet full of denim I don’t wear (but I respect the folks who gotta catch ‘em all!)
Thanks for the demonstration Matt, and thank you for demonstrating it in a relatively safe manner. Something else worth mentioning is the safety risks in the water to the person when performing this technique while wearing denim. I say this because I was deliberately thrown out of a boat by an older cousin when I was 11 years old. I was wearing full length denim overalls... yes, OVERALLS. My cousin thought it would be "funny" to see if I could swim back to shore. For anyone who has never been in a body of water while wearing denim- it's extremely HEAVY and difficult to maneuver in, let alone SWIM. To clarify, this was in a lake as opposed to an ocean or sea. The boat took off without me and I had no choice but to swim back on my own- in large wet HEAVY overalls as an 11 year old GIRL. Needless to say, completing this resulted in absolute exhaustion. I couldn't imagine a person doing this in a larger body of water, potentially with waves, tides, or currents. And for adults, if they had been consuming beverages etc prior to this activity, their safety could have been at an even higher risk. In my opinion, this method is not worth the risk of a person's life!
the whole hypothesis is that the ocean soak is meant to turbo charge fades. it is pointless to do jeans that already worn, because it is the wearing that does the fading.
Hmm, man, I think that would be so incredibly uncomfortable... can't image anyone doing it and I would bet the results wouldn't be that spectacular, and so you are 100% right... don't do it!
I think the interesting fades only happen if you wear them full of salt. You have to let it dry naturally then wear them without washing. Uncomfortable, but the salt crystals would wear the fabric possibly making interesting patterns.
He’s back ladies and gentlemen!!!! Cheers brother good to see you
Thank you mate. It’s good to be back.

good to see you back Matt.
Yes! For the ocean soak to work, you have to wear them wet with the sand until totally dry. Then you get sweet, bloody fades everywhere it rubs.

Welcome back!
Thank you Matthew. 😊😊
Wasn´t it pointless to do this to jeans with no wear? You can´t get fades if you haven´t worn them much right?
the whole hypothesis is that the ocean soak is meant to turbo charge fades. it is pointless to do jeans that already worn, because it is the wearing that does the fading.
Bro, in like 2yr, you gonna have some sick sea fadez 😂
welcome back!
Welcome back!
HES BACK!!!!
He is!
I always thought it was meant to be in warm weather and you can let them dry while you aggetate with the sand. Either way im not doing it!
Hmm, man, I think that would be so incredibly uncomfortable... can't image anyone doing it and I would bet the results wouldn't be that spectacular, and so you are 100% right... don't do it!
