i have the d1 pro, and with a little shopping on amazon was able to make a stand and also steering wheel hangers for easy use both in and out of the cars
100 agree i also think they could have included the topology map, especially concidering the amature market they are looking to sell to who would greatly benifit and learn from such a feature..jmho @@shoestringmotoring
I just got a D1 Pro. I like it. One thing: I’m diagnosing a P0455 Evap Leak and it does an evap system check, but I can’t find a way to individually control the purge valve or canister vent valve so I can do a smoke test. The capability might be hidden there, but I haven’t found it yet. One good thing: it DOES have a transmission temp PID for draining/filling transmission fluid in Lexus/Toyota “lifetime fluid” transmissions. That was a must-have capability for me.
I just bought this planning to use it to diagnose hvac issues on my 06 Odyssey. The bi-directional capabilities for this are staggeringly disappointing. I can't even see the blend door positions, much less manipulate them. I can't even see the cabin temp sensor output. It's getting returned.
Sorry to hear that. I don’t work for them though. In my case, I was quite impressed. I suppose it depends on what you need. I didn’t need to look at blend door issues, but it did help me with roof issues, so it did help me confirm the issues I had.
Thanks for this comment I'll be saving that bit more getting the autel ultra hopefully Was looking at cheaper alternatives I have several but always disappointed
I’ve had to think about this as they are both very good, however I think the TOPDON takes the prize as it comes with many other connection leads to use it on vehicles that don’t use the ‘standard’ OB2 plug, such as Mercedes for instance. For this reason, it’s more versatile.
There are many diagnostic tools available. Which one is right for you really depends on what you need it for. The more features they have, the more expensive they will be.

That’s great. I’ve made something myself too, but it should have been part of the design in my opinion. Thanks for the comment, it’s much appreciated

I like it too. Can’t help you with your smoke test though.
It has been a really useful tool for me in what I’ve needed.
I have an older version and I agree about the need for some kind of handle.
Yes it annoyed me several times not having one.
i made one for hanging on the steering wheel and one that acts as a kind of tablet stand, looks pretty cool ,well i think it does..jmho
Pretty good review mate.
Thank you for saying so. It took me a couple of weeks to do though 👍
Great video!
I’m torn between a otofix d1 max or a kingbolen K10.?????
thank you. I think I prefer the otofix out of those
So launch 919 vs d1? D1 win?
Just got one. Just for personal use. Seems ok.
I use mine for personal use too. Compared to many I’ve used, I think it’s pretty good. Thanks for the comment. It’s much appreciated

I looked at your link, but I found it cheaper on eBay!
If you can find it cheaper and you want one, then that’s good. My link was provided to me. I am not connected to OTOFIX.
Do you like it more than your TOPDON tool?
I do, except for the lack of handle. The TOPDON doesn’t quite have the same features and it’s much bigger, not that I mind.
You can update the dongle without it being in the car , just plug onto charger and will update
Thank you, that’s good information.
@@shoestringmotoring your welcome mate
How does it compare to the topdon phoenix like 👍

How much are the yearly update fees on this?
I’m not sure. I got two years free with mine though.
km to miles, changed in settings from metric to imperial
That’s cool. Thanks for the comment
Looks good but too expensive in my opinion.

D1 lite is same. 250 $ from Ali
I paid £249 on ebay for D1 lite and well worth it could only imagine how good the D1 Pro would be but unfortunately didn't have £550 to spare
