- I am back. 🙌 My new Live set is magical & cool techno for the dancefloor. Have a nice time :-)

I use the following hardware for my mix: Digitone, Digitakt, Analog Keys, A4 MK2, AR, DT, Analog Four, Roland TB-03, Virus TI2, Mackie 1202 VLZ4 and Sound card Ultralite mk4 from Motu.

Having that much Elektron gear and it's redundancy gives way to incredible control of sound. Seeing how Elektron gear has a lot of similarity in execution... well that leads to mastery of gear... which leads to mastery of musical instrumentation.
We need more hardware Jammers and less disc jockeys in this world. Nothing better then jamming out on synths for us in the field, I need to get my mixer and can’t wait for my new drum machine and the new devil fish TD-3

i'd love to see your routing, i have mre or less the same gears, but going crazy with the best setup.
There is no perfect setup. Something is always changing in my live setup and that's what makes it so appealing. With Elektron devices I always work with the additional inputs in order to be able to use the effects for the TB-3, for example. All paths lead to the destination. Have fun trying it out. Seeing this as I'm exploring workflow options in an Elektron world. What an awesome set. Is there any chance you'd give a high level overview of what your setup and workflow looks like (what controls what, what's prepared and what's played live, etc). Would love paying for such content on Patreon :)
If I find the time, maybe I'll make a video about it. As info in advance: All Elektron devices always have a sequencer and that is an advantage for the way I work. So I can create all sounds directly with the machine. All sounds and tracks for the individual techno pieces are already ready. The live aspect is the arrangement of the individual tracks, filter movements, etc.

Great stuff dude!! The big question for me here is why you need so many Elektrons. I'm trying to reduce my set to the absolute minimum because it allow me to keep overview. Currently I have an Octatrack, A4mk2 and Digitone. And I'm even considering ditching the A4mk2 (which I might regret). I use a recorder loop on the Octatrack to prepare a transition to the next track (part) in the live set. Love your sound by the way, very well balanced. Nice!!
Hi Buddy ✌ The recorder loop from the OT is cool. I also used it earlier. With less equipment that makes a lot of sense. The problem with that was just that the track remained very static for a very long time. That was also the reason for more hardware. The magic of the mix are usually the transitions you can not plan. Why Elektron? That's the best way to work. I have not seen anything comparable.

Love the hypnotic bit part around 18:00. Are all patterns preprepared and it's just a matter of mixing/blending and modifying the FX? How much time spent preparing? Do you play out in clubs?
hi Tom...thanks for your feedback & questions. The tracks are prepared as patterns. The mix and the variation of the individual tracks are created spontaneously. I do not prepare anything for my mixes....i set the track order only in advance. I also play live in clubs. Have a nice evening and greetings from Berlin

Wenn man die Arbeitsweise von Elektron versteht und lieben lernt, kommt man viel schneller an sein Ziel. Deshalb hab ich fast nur Elektron. :-) Die Synths sind unglaublich flexibel und der A4 wird dich begeistern. Gerade für Live ist der Performance-Mode genial. Also lass dich überraschen. mfg

I started in 2013 with the Octatrack. I worked with the OT for 9 months to understand how it works. Then I bought the Analog Four....and so on ;-) For the whole setup so about 4 years.
It took more than two years for the first short mix.
Tracks alone are possible with little equipment, but a cool mix is more difficult. Best regards

I was just wondering could you do this with just one half of equipment?
He has two independent sets of machines. For playing one track one set is needed. By doing it this way he is able to mix two tracks together like a dj wich creates nice and unexpected layers.
Then it would be much harder for me to put into practice. Many machines mean a lot of flexibility.
I also started with less equipment. The music is constantly evolving...for more complex music, you need more machines ;-)

Hi and greeting from Berlin. The Analog Rytm & Digitakt go into the separate inputs from the Octatrack. This allows me to use the internal effects (reverb, delay, filter, etc.) for both rhythm machines. A nice week.

It's more like 7K :D, but I think if you want to start the Octatrack can do a lot of things well: Sampling, Effects, Mixing later gear, Sequenzing later gear. Or you go for an Analog Rytm, very good for percussion and you can also load in samples or sample( MKII)

Because i hesitate to take the octatrack mk2 for my first elektron machine is it a good choice ? Durable ? (You are king of elektron i see)

The OT is great, but also very complex. The Elektron mode of operation differs from the conventional one. It also took me about 3 months to understand the workflow of Elektron. I find the Digitakt more sensible at the beginning. You also work sample-based and have a very good compressor + effects with you. And the Digi only costs half.
