They lasted about 1 month on our tropical farm in Costa Rica. I would guess actual thousand cuts were made on hibiscus and other such plants. Seems like the head is becoming unseated in the plastic frame, I'll have to take them apart see if there's anything I can do. Not tropical friendly, might be okay for backyard use in the suburbs.
Try the Kebtek cordless pruners. Way nicer form factor and they're built to last. There's two version - smaller 25mm and larger commercial 45mm. I have the 25mm and love the thing.
Not being brushless isn't as big of a deal as the duty cycle is VERY low for this type of motor so economically it kind of makes sense. But I do still wish it had brushless, and I have used the hedge trimmer on the Bush as well and it works wonders, I use the pruners for bigger branches up until I get my Chainsaw out. It's now become one of my most used dewalt tools outside of the leaf blower
@@ianmburke Some time back I bought a 4" Chinese chainsaw with two batteries, an extra chain and a hard case on Amazon for $35, it works well for the branches that are too big for my pruner and I don't need to break out my larger chainsaw.
Ridiculously bulky. Total fail. I have a ton of Dewalt cordless tools but I'd never buy that monstrosity. I have a Kebtek cordless pruner and the thing works great - has 25mm/1" capacity, but will cut thru 2" branches if you do a few cuts. There's a larger 45mm commercial version that also has a 6' extension option - both will make over a thousands per battery (think the larger one will do many thousands per charge) .
I am not sure brushless would make it that much better as the motion of the motor is pretty limited especially compared to something like a drill where brushless makes a lot of sense.
Home Depot in the lawn and garden area. It comes out seasonally so if you are in Northern US states it might be another couple of weeks before it is released
They should have one of those and it is just a 100 acre plot of different work environments where they have every single Dewalt tool and you can go play and demo them.. @dewalt where are you on this??

I think Guido would love this to cut fingers off for not paying your gambling debts.
It would work really well for that although bulky compared to a nice little pocket sized cigar cutter
I'm really surprised that it's not brushless, all of the Chinese ones are.
A hedge trimmer would make quick work of that butterfly bush.

Can you replace the blades on it? Or do u just have to keep sharpening it?
Since you can remove them I assume they will make replacements as well
A replacement blade is available and a tool is provided to change it.
@@rongollonik7754 awesome thanks 👍 im buying one!
Cool basenji
'S you have there
Thanks!! I have a whole pack of them!
I’m curious as to whether it would cut a #6 copper wire or say a 1/0 aluminum wire.
Wire would dull it very quickly, dewalt also makes a wire cutting tool in the 20v series
@@ianmburke You are probably correct. But for $120 each I could buy seven or eight for the price of the Dewalt cable cutter. Just curious.

nice dewalt collection !!
Thanks I love the 20v series it has been one of my best adoptions of tools. It makes working on so many different projects so easy
Wet wood then can cut off, thick wood few time press then cut off,,, dry wood and dead tree but hard to press then cut off,
Very cool idea for a tool! Too bad it's not brushless though.

Where can i find this

Amazon has it now also
One on man, it’s not made to cut pvc so don’t even entertain the suggestion in a video. 🙄That equivalent to trying to use it to cut your fingernails!
I recommend that you NOT use it on PVC because of the obvious danger of splintering the PVC.
Agreed! Maybe someone will make a different set of cutting ends for it to take that task on, in lieu of buying a separate tool. 🤞
Looks an awful like the Milwaukee Brushless Power lopper I'm waiting on .
I haven't seen it but that's not unlikely since all the major tool companies just copy one another! Just watch your fingers 😳
