great video i loved the scenery it looked a lovely hike i like to mix mine up with more sedate hikes as well as the bigger ones just to give myself a rest lol. i find the more sedate ones i get to see more of the surrounding nature and wildlife. & as regards to the o/s maps their amazing how detailed they are and can be your best friend when visiting unknow areas, there are so many people out there who venture out and get lost even on smaller areas or plateau's and if you have your map you can usually get yourself out of a sticky situation just from the features around you

@@JIMcLauchlan thanks Jim , yeah you’re right I never go without one , has definitely bailed me out several times!
I’m trying to complete every hill and mountain in the Brecon Beacons National park , there are literally hundreds looking at the OS maps I’m only about half way through going to take years! But in doing so having to do lots of smaller ones which actually have been really enjoyable, as you say quieter and more relaxing to enjoy the scenery and nature! All the best mate

That went quick - watched all of that Adam. Such a beautiful walk - I sense the remoteness of the area. It's my kind of place for sure - deep Cwms, water falls, forest and views. And that's not to mention idyllic South wales lanes. You wouldn't know the outside world exists. I wouldn't mind living there. Well, good going. A great one with no rain. All the best. Mark

@@WyeExplorer Hi Mark thanks a lot for the comment , yeah what a place that would be to live , I would love it too. It was a lovely walk with really diverse views and nice to finish in the forest at the end. It’s definitely a place you would enjoy! Morning Adam, not very far from me - I would popped along and said hello if I had known. I am not surprised you didn't say anyone on the plataeu below Mynydd Llangyndir . In all my years I have only been in that area about half a dozen times , but I know it to be so quiet. Seeing those ferns on the descent I managed a few hours out locally on Saturday and was met with 6ft ferns - it was a tick check for sure when I got back. The lane you walked up we call 7 miles lane - I think thats the distance from the start at the top down to the end of the road. At 9:52 you are pointing towards Darren Fawr - its a wonderful spot if you have not been there. I have done a few Summer Solstice walks to there and camped there last year. atb Alan

There are some seriously high ferns atm, like a jungle in some parts. That’s interesting about Darren Fawr, I haven’t been onto it but I should do. I can imagine the sunset views from three looking west are excellent and what a place to camp! Best wishes

@@adamradford2285 Hi Adam.... we must have a catch up on the hill sometime - that would be good. Cefn Ystrad, make sure you tackle it frompossibly the quarry as if you get up on the hill south of the Trig on the Trefil side you will be be knee deep in wimberry bushes with lots of uneven ground underneath - there are no definite paths from that side... alternatively the track from the bottom end of pontsic res is longer but more accessible. Meant to ask have you been on Llangyndir and done chartist caves?
