This comment section is very strange
    Number one:
Half the people here are claiming that Voddie believes you have to be Reformed to be saved
No, he’s addressing how someone worships God
And he’s saying people who don’t follow the Regulative Principle of Worship cannot call themselves Reformed
    Reformed does not = saved
Reformed also does not = damned
Voddie at no point here was talking about Salvation
    Number two:
Many people here seem to believe that Reformed folk hold to works salvation
Reformed theology doesn’t teach you’re saved by works, rather it teaches the opposite, that nothing you do can save you, and that your works are like dirty rags to God
Reformed Theology does teach however, that works are the offspring of salvation. IE, if you believe in Christ, you will do good works, because you love Christ
“If you love me, keep my commandments”
Someone not following Gods commands and actively rejecting Him is good proof that they don’t actually believe
    As Jesus said
“You will know them by their fruits”
The whole idea of works salvation is ridiculous in Reformed theology, because it literally teaches that you cannot even choose God on your own
Rather Jesus chooses you (John 15:16)
The whole point of unconditional election is that God doesn’t choose you based off anything to do with you
Rather that Gods Grace is completely unmerited

Bottom line: Works do not save. God's grace by faith in Christ saves. Good works are a result of salvation, not a way of salvation. Christ died for us. If you believe, you will be saved. Although, saying I believe and living that way can be two completely different things. Thus, you will know them by their fruit.

I’ve been compared to a monk and have been called a “fun killer” I can’t tell you how much I have turned my life around in the name of Jesus, all Glory to Jesus and I feel confident . I know Voodie means well and I myself a “baby Christian” can see he is a true man of God, I can’t help but doubt myself each time I watch him. He is so far up there in his faith that for those of us who are young genuine Christian’s who are trying our best it can be scary to listen to. I still can’t help myself but to listen and learn from him. God bless him and all glory to Jesus for every thing he has done in my life. Amen! I totally get what you're saying. There's a story in the Bible about the widow's mite. She had very little to give. She gave nothing compared to others, but what she gave was all she had. Therefore, her gift was far more of a sacrifice and of value. The Lord said she would be remembered. Read the story. I'm messing the story. But anyway my point is, God meets everyone of us where we are. When we look horizontally we feel less than others. However, when we measure ourselves vertically, we are all equal. You don't worry about Voodie. He's made differently than you and you are made differently than me. One body, many parts. Just keep on keeping your eyes fixed on your Savior and purpose to fall deeper in love with Him. The more in love you become for the Triune God (father son holy spirit), the more obedient you'll naturally become.
And in saying that, today is Valentined day. He is the pure and total essence of LOVE. That's how we are to know love. Receive His love, be blessed and be a blessing. ❤

Therefore, without doctrine you will have a blurry view of God, unless you immerse yourself deeply in the word of God, which our forefathers in faith did already and found a systematical way to know God. So if you choose to take the route to know God depending solely in your own study and without the work of the reformers and the confessions, it will require an intensive labour way more than you could ever imagine. He is an unashamed all-in Calvinist. Preaching Calvinism: Only a random pre-chosen some will irresistibly turn to Christ, consequently all others have been arbitrarily preordained to destruction by God's divine decree... that's another gospel!!!

    • @graftme3168
      @graftme3168 7 месяцев назад

Maybe he is not looking for the approval of men, but that doesn't mean he isn't a religious zealot. The apostle Paul was a religious zealot before he was converted to Christianity. The Bible speaks of others who were religious zealots who didn't have proper knowledge of the truth. Calvinism definitely diminishes the power of the Gospel, which in turn diminishes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I guarantee that God is an equal opportunity Savior, and anyone who teaches otherwise is teaching another gospel. And, we know what the Bible says about that. It is way more serious than most people are willing to acknowledge. There is only one Gospel that saves. Calvinism is NOT that gospel. It is the power of the Gospel that leads to salvation by faith in that Gospel. It is NOT the power of predestination. Predestination, if understood properly, means that God predestined His plan that those who believe will be saved, and He predestined all who believe to receive certain promises, etc. There is nothing biblical about God predestinating people according to His choice, but rather He chose to predestine those who choose to believe. That is what the Bible teaches. We have the exact same example with Israel. God chose Israel, but only those who chose to believe God's promises were truly of God. Obviously, "chosen" doesn't equal salvation. Since Christ's death and resurrection, He has sent the Holy Spirit to convict the WORLD of sin, righteousness, and judgement, so nobody has an excuse. As the first chapter of Romans tells us, God has given EVERYONE sufficient evidence of truth, but some CHOOSE to suppress the truth. It all boils down to the fact that God desires ALL men to be saved and gives ALL men the opportunity to choose to acknowledge the way that HE has planned for salvation. Proper understanding of this is a matter of life and death. Wrong Gospel=wrong plan=no salvation.

Corinthians 2:14 “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.”
Corinthians 4:4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Ephesians 2:1-3 “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. 3 Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.”
Romans 7:18 “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.”
Ephesians 2:15 “By abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace.”
Romans 5:12,19 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned… or as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.”
Psalm 143:2 “And do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no man living is righteous.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
2 Chronicles 6:36 “When they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin) and You are angry with them and deliver them to an enemy, so that they take them away captive to a land far off or near.”
Isaiah 53:6 “All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.”
Mark 7:21-23 “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, 22 deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. 23 All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.”
Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”
Romans 8:7 “Because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so.”

@@graftme3168 Calvinism doesn't diminish the power of the gospel. It's the only way the gospel, if it is true, can save anyone. Pelagianists argue that Calvinism "limits the atonement", but that's disingenuous to argue, because unless you're a universalist, you believe in sine kind of limited atonement. Pelagianists and Calvinists both believe in a limited atonement. Pelagianists believe that everyone has the potential to be saved, and Calvisnists believe some are guaranteed to be saved. Potential salvation for all, and guaranteed salvation for some. Those are the two arguments at war here, and to pretend otherwise is dishonest. The problem is, potential salvation is no salvation at all. I'm not able to achieve potential salvation because I have a sin nature. The Bible makes it clear that having a genuine change of heart and mind, loving the things God loves, and hating the things God hates, is evident of salvation. There is no way I can do that on my own. According to the Bible, I'm intrinsically predisposed to love sin and hate the things of God, and it also says that denying this to be self-deceived and not practicing the truth. Potential salvation for all is a really weak gospel, because it means I have to do things that I really can't do on my own. This also isn't another gospel, contrary to what anyone says. Calvisnists still believe that salvation will come to anyone that repents and believes. It's just, who will repent and believe? The elect will. If this isn't the case, then God is not sovereign over all things, but only some things. So does that mean that God makes us sin? By no means. Since we have sin natures, we do that perfectly fine on our own. Rather, when people don't sin, it is because God restrains us. Every person who has ever lived is capable of committing any sin imaginable if they are left to their own devices. God didn't make Joseph's brothers sell him into slavery. He simply let them, of their own volition. to do the evil they wanted to do in their heart. But at the same time, Joseph could say that God "sent" him to Egypt. That means, ar the same time, God was sovereign even with them making their own choices. A few things I also want to say. Calvinism has no way of deducting if someone is not one of the elect. That's not for us to say or to know. We can know who is a Christian based on the tests the Bible gives us, but it can't tell us what inevitably will or won't happen in the remainder of an individual person's life.
Furthermore, another argument I see is that that a loving God could not possibly predestined people to hell. Well, that's what God essentially did even in the Pelagianist's logic, when God allowed sin to enter the world. Even Pelagianists agree that at least, God KNOWS who will reoent and believe in the gospel, which, by extension, He would know who wouldn't, and know that some people would go to hell as a result of allowing Adam and Eve to eat the fruit in the first place. Knowingly allowing an action to happen that will result in people going to hell for eternity is essentially what God did according even to Pelagianist logic. If God didn't know some people wouldn't be saved, that would be pretty pathetic and unwise god. It's only when you understand it from a Calvinist perspective that it makes sense. All things are made for God's glory, and sometimes, God is most glorified in punishing people who do evil. So He allows people to do the evil that they want their whole lives, and brings others to repentance. You may ask why doesn't he save everyone? That is asking the question wrong. A better question would be, since we all are deserving of hell, why does anyone get saved? If you ask the question that way, then we can talk. But Pelagianists never ask the question that way. Why is that? Pelagianists, in effect, really just are universalists at heart. Lastly, they get this idea that Calvinism is dangerous because people can leave the faith because they don't "feel" like they're one of the elect. In fact, a lot of Pelagianists claim that was their story. They started out Calvinist, they didn't feel a certain way, had doubts, thought they weren't one of the elect, and thus accumulated teaching they liked more. The problem here is that such a person abandoning this doctrine was a result in them not understanding it. By that logic, we should never teach people about Jesus, because people might misunderstand that and leave the faith. All Christians have doubts. But those who abandon the faith because of their doubts make it apparent they were never of God in the first place. God doesn't let His people go. So many Pelagianists try to convince me that I am a master of my own destiny. Well, I have a challenge. I dare you to go up to Jesus on judgment day and tell Him that. But not really. I wouldn't want to be within 100 feet of you if you did. You Pelagianists can keep your idea of "potential salvation for all" that isn't able to save anyone, not me least of all. Your god is pretty pathetic, losing people left and right and not able to do anything about it. I'll stick with the God of the Bible, who has guaranteed my salvation. I will mecer apologize for having a high view of the Holy Spirit, and if I'm somehow wrong and going to hell for that, then I'll spend eternity wpmdering why a Pelangianist neger tried to reason with me in an intellectually honest manner and give me the true gospel they allegedly claimed to know. All you Pelagianists do is strawman what Calvisnists believe and viciously mocking them, some even making and watching these disturbing videos implying Calvinists have... homosexual desires for each other? First off, what kind of Christian does that? Secondly, why would you do any of that when you could have shared the gospel with them? Never once have I encountered a single Pelagianist who has actually spoken to me in good faith. I have seen thousands by now. Why did one of them not lead me in what they consider to be the right direction? Why were they satisfied at just insiltonf and laughing at me? Doesn't sound very Christian. There are only two possibilities. They believe what they are saying but don't want to save my soul, or two, they don't believe what they are saying at all and are lying. Either way, Pelangianists don't care about the well being of other's souls at all. If they did, they would want to bring people to the supposed true saving gospel, which they don't. They are satisfied with just mocking Calvinists, because Pelagianists never thought any of this through. They're just pretending to be Christian so that they can live a life of sin with a clean conscience. That is evident in their fruit. Am I wrong about any of this? I don't think I am, but I'm hoping that if I am, you would talk some sense into me. But I know you won't even try. Just bad faith strawmen and mockery like all the other Pelagianists.

Here a question regarding II Peter 3:9 is offered to the Calvinist. A common response is raised and examined.
If Calvinism be true, then God alone wills and brings about His will. If it is His will that all men may be saved, then who hinders Him?
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." II Peter 3:9
If Calvinism be true, then according to this verse, then all men should be saved, since God desires all men to be saved. Obviously, this is contrary to other plain passages (Luke 13:23-24; Matthew 7:13-14). Even Calvin recognized that this was contrary to his doctrines and explained it as follows:
"For His will that they should come to repentance cannot be used in any other sense than that which is uniformly employed. Conversion is undoubtedly in the hand of God, whether He designs to convert all can be learned from Himself, when He promises that He will give some a heart of flesh, and leave to others a heart of stone (Ezek. 36:26)."
    and,
"But I hold that no man approaches God unless previously influenced from above. And if repentance were placed at the will of man, Paul would not say, 'If God peradventure will give them repentance' (2 Tim. 2:25)." Institutes, vol. 2, p. 255-256

@@barefootkid592.0 Either way it’s not biblical. You won’t find the idea of any man being marked for hell. Scripture say that God does not want anyone to perish. Not a single person. Scripture clearly says they Christ died for all and not just the ones he wanted. Calvinist’s have taken the scripture of predestination and added to it to fit their doctrine. Their not the only ones that do that either, evangelicals claim to be saved just say a prayer and your saved. That’s not biblical either and can’t be found in scripture. We are saved by grace and repentance. If we do not repent we are not saved. we can tell if we are saved by our heart. Do we have a changed heart? All denominations have some kind of man made doctrine and the Bible clearly speaks against that type of behavior. “‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. The 1689 Second London Baptist Confession isn’t even reformed because they don’t adhere to the reformed view of the sacraments, among others. They are much closer to true reformed theology than folks like MacArthur who just simply adhere to the five points. If you want a truly reformed confession read the Scots Confession and if you want theologians read Calvin (of course) and John Knox. Then keep reading those who follow the same lines. Voddie Baucham, however, can be considered almost truly reformed, mainly because of the issues he mentions in this video as well as some other doctrines.

      An “interpretation of you will”
You don’t have to be Reformed to be saved
Rather Baucham is calling out people who claim to hold to Reformed theology but only hold to a small part of it
      That being Calvinism
This has nothing to do with salvation, but rather how people worship
Reformed theology follows the Regulative Principle of Worship
Meaning you should only worship how Scripture tells you to worship

The reformation was a spiritual repackaging of that age it came out of. That’s what they don’t tell you.

I'm sorry but I don't think I've seen the word "reformed" anywhere in scripture... Our goal shouldn't be to try and be "reformed" but Biblical. The reformation was great I admire many of the reformers but sadly it didn't go far enough scripture alone is our standard for how we shoud conduct ourselves.

Reality sets in. 92% of the church body is not even saved. Most are weeds, not even tares, and yet they are continually allowed to stay. What's up with that?

A father said to his son, go and do. He said he would not and later went. He told his second son to go and do. He said he would and didn't. Sorry off the top of my head... not trying to add or take away... but a story and question Jesus asked about obedience.

Discussing the Reformation like we should all have at least one foot on board is justifying the creation of a new religion from Catholicism. John Calvin was a heretic, not a reformer and Luther died a Catholic. Both wanted 5 books removed from the Bible Canon including James. We should not be discussing reforming, we should be teaching the literal spoken words of Jesus as He commanded. John 12:47,48 and mt28:18-

  • @alexanderh2345

Why are we concerned with being called reformed? In the Bible there was just one type of Christian. One who was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

Speaking of the 5 points...predestination when applied person by person...versus speaking of the (future-accomplished, total, finished Ecclesia IN CHRIST, IN GOD) ...that "person by person" thing just seems to make life, and history, and the Death, Burial, Ressurection...almost a Drama!! Why!!! If predetermined you are saved...unnecessary! If predetermined you go to hell, useless!! You people make ZERO SENSE with individual predestination!😢

    Jesus is enough.
Who do you say Jesus is?
Who do you say you are?
    What is Jesus to you?
Jesus is the Christ. The Savior of all man kind. Jesus is the Creator, who is God. The 2nd of the Trinity -Father Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus was; born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was beaten for our transgression, nailed on a cross for all our sins and died on that cross as the ultimate sacrifice for all who would believe in and on Him.
He went to the depths of hell and preached the gospel to both sides. The side where Abraham was on, and the side where the self righteous king was.
He prepared Abraham’s side for the journey, Jesus took the keys of death and hell.
Jesus was raised from the dead. He showed him self and interacted with His disciples. He was raised or taken up to Heaven as people watched, while leading the souls that were in Abraham’s group up to Heaven, all the while “Open up ye gates” was shouted.
Jesus now sits at the right hand of the Father and ever interceding on our behalf. - Praise Him. Thank Him.
I am a sinner. Who has been born again. Who does works to strengthen my faith. Works show what I believe. Private and public works only show the Father my obedience. He, the Father, weighs the thoughts and intentions of my heart. He knows if I’m genuine or not.
Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I need Him for everything. A part from Him, I can do nothing.
    Jesus is King
Come taste His goodness. Come drink of the living water. He is the bread of life. He has the living water, of which we will never thirst again.
