I used it for a bit when it first came out. It was great then, and it's even better now! Kind of refreshing to use it again. I still don't feel like posting anything anywhere though. Like you say, if it doesn't make you money, don't waste your time if that's your goal. I have some good repeat clients and more than enough side work to keep me up late at night as it is.

I love the movement to VERO that’s happening.
I just recently made the jump over to Vero (last week). I like Vero's clean look, the fact that my images aren't compressed to a square format, that I can see other people's work in a good resolution, and that I can post images from my laptop. For sure, Vero does NOT have all of the noise that I see on IG (ads, mindless videos, etc.). While I don't plan to eliminate my IG account, I think I'll spend more time posting images of Vero and try to build up that account. Thanks for your thoughts on the two, you made a very good point about a fundamental question--how will that platform benefit me (you) as a creator? Nice discussion.

This is the 1st time I've heard about Vero, I am a Hobbyist, with 2 of the latest Nikon Cameras (Z9, Z7 II) and a lot of the Z Lenses, Photography is a hobby for me, in conjunction with Drone Video and Photography, Vero sounds like the place I'd fit very well in, as I dive deeper into capturing and improving Photos and Videos, thanks for the information :)

To the small content creators, Instagram destroyed us, taking away our visibility. Regardless of whether or not you want to make money by the platform, that people can't see your work that you did with so much pride and commitment, is frustrating. Giving Vero a chance!
Pixelfed, is what Instagram used to be. Very community driven and decentralized. Being decentralized you actually have a variety of communities to join, yet still free to explore the others. No big tech, no ads. You can even create your own server if you wanted. It Maybe worth a look.......
I'm hearing pretty good things about Vero, but not a single thing that can't be found on the VERY well established FLICKR. And Flickr was actually created by and for photographers. There's no danger that it will eventually morph into something that better suits videographers or musicians (Vero is maybe too broad as it's trying to be all things to everyone).

There is a never comeback point: Vero is for photographers, but Instagram is for everyone. And if you are an influencer, camera reviewer, journalist or workshop creator... thats great. But if you are a photographer, your clients are not in Vero, they will be on Instagram.
Yea I agree with that. But as a RUclipsr for photographers…. Vero is a buffet!!! That’s mainly what I use Vero for. To reach photographers. It’s so handy and why I won’t give it up.
Super happy you are enjoying your new adventure in Australia and it was a STUNNING photo of yellow dress in sunset. I also recently created a Vero account there because of all the talks photographers have been sharing lately. So far I've been really enjoying the ads free, endless video reels free opportunity on it. I'm also curious where this is going to go 😁
Yes! We can really make it what we want it to be in the end... Just have to keep everyone on there haha!

Agree with another comment about Flickr…why not keep using Flickr?? And, non-members can see your work without being a member…I like that feature.

I think the issue is the same with every platform sooner or later it becomes all about money. I find it crazy how many of the photographers mention friends on the platforms but yet some of you have 20k followers and you only follow 110 people. Wish people would follow you back when you are followed. But hey it’s not about being social anymore, it’s about building a business with numbers. Attracting rich whales to pay $5k plus for a workshop. It’s really sad.

i switched over to Vero when insta kept making me change my password, each time they would send a code to my phone, this happend twice a week, baring in mind they text a code last but one time they blocked my account again but this time they wanted to confirm it was my phone number after the 6th time i didn't bother i was already on Vero but haden't posted anything on there it was a couple of moths before i looked at insta again reset my password and touch wood (touches my head) its been ok, i love the quality on Vero you can zoom in without losing quality, i have followed you over there take care x

I think people are expecting Vero to be the next instagram ( which it won't ) . I'll give it another 6 years before another app becomes the next instagram.
The premise of this video is ridiculous. She’s on Vero in the hopes it takes off, but admits she’s still on Instapage. Um, if you don’t vote with your feet and leave Instagram (and assuming the market behaves as you do), why would Vero take off?! One can’t eat their cake and keep it too.
First of all I've only just come across your channel, 2nd you are the first person in over 20yr that has made my heart skip a beat and get butterflys in my stomarch 😍..anyway that aside .I've heard a lot about this vero.. erm i think what puts a lot of people off is when you read the actual reviews and it has a lot of complaints! only 3-5* rating too... and if that isn't putting people off..the fact it's still a beta is doing 😏. I know instagram is far from perfect..in fact it's getting more annoying by the day for me and I've only recently in last few month joined it! I can't go into search bar without seeing videos, or pictures of women that i have no interest in seeing..what's with that? How do you get rid of seeing stuff like that? 🤷♂. Plus how do i get more people to see my work on instagram? (If you'd like to view it and criticise or compliment it, just say and I'll give it you). I feel like the tie in middle of a tug o war rope against two evenly matched sides getting pulled left to right with no clear winner
Yep! I hear yah!!! Completely agree that all these platforms have pros and cons. The one thing with Vero is I see an opportunity for again establishing ones self early on! Thank you for the compliments... I really appreciate it. Cheers!

That's because Vero is trying to be all things to all people. So, of course it will be just like Instagram.
Flickr on the other hand was made by photographers for photographers and remains an excellent tool, environment and platform for photogs!
I'm tired of all of it. I'm going back to black and white film, making contact sheets and making hardbound books. Social media is for lonely or desperate people.

I never heard of Vero, it seems every few years a new app comes and tries to get photographers to join and stay but they never get the attention Instagram has, I never liked Instagram and I don't use it as I got tired of changing apps and reuploading material and trying to get an audience, I started with Flickr which was great and became horrible and also went through apps like 500px which seemed promising and were later abandoned

Vero was new to me when I saw that Peter McKinnon video (other than as a word because vero in Finnish means tax).
I joined Vero after watching his video and have been posting some pictures. I am @gosro there. And I will be posting
a lot of more although photography is just a hobby for me. But it’s serious hobby that takes almost all my time
when I’m not working or sleeping. I take over 100 000 pictures a year.
