This was extremely helpful thank you. I've been putting off doing this for months thanks to Mongodb etc. For others like myself who only have one AP it was pretty simple just to reset the AP and then set it up again - obviously not something you want to do if you have several or even dozens of APs to deal with. Anyway - thanks again!
Great video! I wish I would have found it 2 days ago when my UDM base crapped the bed. I did the same as you and tried the "official" containers and was like WTF, then stumbled on the Reborn. It really saved my ass scrambling to get everything back up. I will say this, on my Unraid box, the UI is MUCH faster than it was running on the Dream Machine. (I had the base model, egg looking thing) The one thing that saved me is that even though the UDM was dead / offline, the mobile app would still let me open the list of clients, which helped me map IP addresses to MAC addresses for reservations. (smart home, stuff has to be in a specific place for Home Assistant)
Thanks for the video, but it would have been a lot more helpful if you had actually shown how to set up the container. I'm trying to spool this up from scratch, not migrating from a previous Unifi install, and I'm kinda lost. I have a UDM Pro, but after watching a video by Lawrence Systems, I'm considering selling it and just hosting myself via this docker. You say you don't recommend that, but not why. Can you elaborate? Also, now that I have the WebUI up and running...now what? I don't know how to connect to a gateway or anything, and I can't find any docs...
Once the UI is set up, that’s it. Go to devices and then you’ll see devices that are pending adoption. If it does not show, then you will need to manually SSH to those devices and force adoption with an “inform” command but there are more guides out there than I can provide It’s a good point though, I just migrated my site. THIS container is fully “set it and forget it” because I don’t have time to build a docker from scratch.
Unraid Forums has a post for this container and what you should change and what not. Also cannot see my previous comment (probably got flagged?) Do not forget to export the site and the settings. They are different yes. General settings first Site later(if you used something else than default)! Set 8.0.24-unraid as image if you wish to import from the deprecated application.
Thanks! I tried the other apps that had a LOT more downloads and they failed. This ones logo looked funky and download count was low so I never gave it a chance, but they have a lot of activity on the forums and the install went perfect! Looking to get some Unifi WAPs but no real need for a Dream Machine just yet. My current router does the job. I'll probably get a Dream Machine if self hosted isn't that reliable for one reason or another or when a new Dream Machine comes out. Hopefully a 16 port 2.5Gb version.
Many thanks for the video and explanation. With this support, the setup was done at one evening. Would have been faster, if I did paid more attention to the „inform host IP address change, which is required. However….👍

worked like a charm !!!!!

I set the repository to "11notes/unifi:8.0.26-unraid" for the latest version. The restore still worked like a charm.
That explains why my sites were acting weird lol. But yea I’m utterly shocked nobody made a video on this. It’s impossible to follow any of the forums
Thanks!

Thanks! Could you make a video on how you did set up the Unifi-Controller-Reborn ? This will help me a lot!!!
Might do it in a couple weeks yup
showing your WAN IP isn't a great idea but good tip on the app, i'm trying to setup a mongodb now and its not easy
I’m moving anyway lol, they can try their worst
thanks man
I have followed this guide and many more, I have never been able to make device discovering work with unifi-controller-reborn
