@@philouph The first thing I thought of was that someone tried to make a flying chair using the 550X xD However I was not dissappointed with how this actually turned out :)
This is really cool ! I'm wanting to have the same setup with F,P,V in flying R,C Jet's. I'm wanting to have the camera movement off of a 2 Chanell radio so that the camera moves with my head / neck movement. Although awesome to see the possibility of our future.
If he wants to be close, that’s his prerogative. If he’s at this level, he understands the risks involved. His children and wife are in a safe area. Buncha dorks
Yes that was the idea :). Yes probably it helped since I do almost only hovering with the chair. But I must say that it is more difficult in the heliChair since you cannot feel it as good as in a real helicopter
@philouph I could tell the way you rested your hand, slowly lowered your collective as rotors were slowing to a stop, and left your hands on all controls until all movement of the helicopter stopped.
Nicht schlecht würde gerne mal die Mechanik sehen wie die Steuersingnale vom Stuhl zur Fernsteurung gemacht ist. Aaaber sehr leichtsinnig sooo dicht vor der Nase zu schweben.
Too many other projects that get in the way. But, I did build a 250 quad, so I could learn to fly FPV, and purchased a tiny Inductrix with FPV to fly indoors to help with learning. Just watched this video, tonight, which looks like great fun. ruclips.net/video/LJ4tmWvzcAY/видео.html I just finished fabricating a keg lift to make work easier for the folks (including my son), that work a local brewery.
Nice thing to know how to fly FPV. I also had in mind to add FPV googles to the helichair to make it even more realistic. The video is awesome, even turbulences are greatly simulated:)
I had similar thoughts after seeing Philippe flying. I at least use a face shield to, hopefully, protect my handsome face and eyes. I plan to purchase some protective netting when I do demos for small groups. I don't think failsafe could be activated quickly enough to save face, if an electrical connection fails.
Yes I totally agree that I should also do something like Patriottoo2 did, because it can turn out bad if something fails.. I never run the heli at full RPM, only about 70% but even with this it is dangerous
If someone swings or throws a machete at you would you feel safe with a face shield? or a full body shield? Please even use builders orange plastic netting for 1m fence- it could save your life. ..on a lighter note: an old pilots helmet would look cool ;D
Thanks man! Not right know but maybe next year.. I imagine buying a scale for the heli and putting a fpv cam which can tilt/pan/rotate placed in the head of a pilot puppet, like this guy did ruclips.net/video/984tPA7k3yg/видео.html
what you need is a helmet to prevent hazard as controlling a toy with your feet is dangerous. www.9news.com.au/national/2017/12/28/14/03/it-s-not-a-toy-man-hospitalised-after-being-hit-in-face-by-his-own-remote-control-helicopter
@@philouph Nice. I have a PPL fixed wing, aiming for a heli. Where did you get plans to connect controls? Kas from Heli-chair sent me links to the diagram, but he's taken it down. I've emailed him, but he's not responding. I'm looking for plans, please can you help out?
Nice chair... but do you really take this thing out to the field for real flights? Because hovering in your backjard will be boring soon... and it is dangerous too... and your neighbours enjoy the noise for sure 😁
Excellent work. Being a disabled person i admire your creativity. I wish I had one. Your video is encouraging. Thank you
Thanks you very much:)
Flying a 700 W circular saw so close to you is very brave, to put it positively (I have a few TREX helis myself)
Nice work on the chair, and excellent work containing your excitement.
ahah I was focused :)
This is super creative! Wow....I agree with some kind of shield...Really impressed! I can tell you have some serious concentration going on.
Awesome, just too close!!
That is great, I want one, are they available online?
Absolutely awesome! And the chair is really well made. Well done!
thanks man :)
Great job! Beatiful... nice work. Await a FPV.
Simplemente un muy buen trabajo. Felicitaciones!
Thanks man, will try it with fpv in the future maybe:p
Awesome I've never seen one flown from a chair.
Great and creativee idea! When I saw the video title I expected something different though xD
Thanks man, so what did you expect?:)

@@chrisr7341 ahah ok I see :)
Awesome video man I'd like to see this in 3-D flying with that chair I bet it would be very different
ahah yes that would be indeed funny :p

yes def get it 25.... 30 feet away from you! FPV would be a must good luck
I bet using this for an aircraft sim like DCS would be awesome!
(and less dangerous)
Nice chair but way to close, this is not safe.

Nah, when I test hover my 580 I'm usually not more than a few feet away. I'm confident in my hovering abilities.
@@ascherlafayette8572 something could fail....
Cool ! But too close and wrong place for trying this
Danger Will Robinson! This seems like a Darwin Award Candidate....
Did you build this to practice for flying a real helicopter? And if so, did the Helichair help?
Yes that was the idea :). Yes probably it helped since I do almost only hovering with the chair. But I must say that it is more difficult in the heliChair since you cannot feel it as good as in a real helicopter

Das ist mal ne krasse Hausnummer perfekt 👌👍🏻😉
The latency on the FPV cameras are pretty low, now.
Why don't you build and sell them? i'll take one.
How did you do this ? I’ve always thought about doing this but I don’t know how
built according the plans from heli-chair.com with some modfications
Super Leistung.Aber Lebensgefährlich!!
That's not fair... you've been practicing. Nice!
lol thanks:) you also found time to fly some time?

I missed the link of turbulence to the simulator's seat. Well done! :-)
it shakes quite a bit in the trailer when it is driving, thats why I thought it is just like real turbulences in the sky :p
awesome... too close with heli ...too dangerous...need shield i think

interesting for fpv. I see a little risky. be in a single position, to control the helicopter at a greater distance
real nice. Now we have VR and can simulate real helicopters with realistic controls like PUMA.
This is awesome! Any plans to use fpv setup?

Yes, but I think that he was not just hovering with his helicopter..
Nowayears, gps can be installed and flying with fpv would be so amazing.
this is unbelievably cool. but very dangerous. attention please 😎👍
Sehr geil gemacht!
Cool sh#t. Great job!
thanks man
Two words,,,BAD ASS
Keep up the great work! Subscribed to you ;-)
Thanks man
As said earlier, would be great for fpv. Otherwise I think it would be harder to circuits etc then just holding the remote in hands.
Now put a camera on a gimbal and do fpv with head tracking, now there’s an idea!!!
You don't even need a gimbal, a 360 camera would do the trick and be significantly lighter.
Build a 1/2” Acrylic jet fighter Fuselage.
Thats crazy :)) i like it
Sent you a message on facebook about buying plans for this
Very cool!! I wonder if your local flying club would allow this. No!!
ahah :p
Are you still flying?
not very often since I now have my private helicopter license :)
