Hope they bounce back as both clubs are miles apart currently and that means the chances of a second city Derby are slim. I love to hate you blue noses but my thoughts are with you
Last season I went through this experience for the first time with my club, Santos FC. A club that once had Pelé, who died the same year the club was relegated, Neymar, Rodrygo and many other players are now in the Brazilian second division. When we lost the game in the last round and our fate was confirmed, I confess I wasn't very sad. But a few months later, when the Brazilian championship started and I saw that Santos wouldn't be there, I discovered that our disaster was really real. I feel sorry for Birmingham, such a traditional club like others in English football that cannot stay in the top division. We will all come back stronger one day. I remember being in England in 2008 visiting friends, and we were all at a pub watching the playoff final between Hull and Bristol City, with friends from both places there (a mate owned the pub so he had a bit of a watch party). When Hull won and went up, and Bristol were denied promotion - I witnessed a taste of both joy and despair that you don't see in American sports. I can see just why football fans are some of the most passionate fans on earth.
As a Villa supporter, i'm a bit conflicted about the blues struggles. A part of me would love to see them in the national league, but a part of me would also like to see them in the prem losing at villa park 🤣.
I can absolutely promise you that if my club, Everton, eventually go down, we'll not see the top flight again for a long long time, nor will it take us thirteen years to drop down to League One. We'd do that in a season. Hope to see Birmingham back up soon.
NUFC fan here, great videos… I understand a relegation in all seriousness. It’s very painful as you naturally expect your team to do a little better than they have. Chin up, enjoy what you have and look forward to promotion. 👌🏼
Great video. Feel for Birmingham fans this season for them was a perfect storm. I think given their ambitions of their owners and what will likely be a weaker L1 next season, I think theyll be back very quickly.
Here's an incredible milestone for you. When I began following football around the end of the 70s/beginning of the 80s, Birmingham City were a top flight club with Archie Gemmill, Mark Dennis, Frank Worthington, Dave Langan, Jeff Wealands & Alan Curbishley on their books & the late, great "Bald Eagle" Jim Smith in charge. The West Midlands had more top tier clubs than London at that time (Villa,B'ham,Coventry,WBA & Wolves, whereas London only had Arsenal, Palace & Spurs). Doesn't seem possible, knowing that a rathole like London never has less than 6 clubs in the PL at any one time now (currently with 7 clubs). Jim Smith did a marvellous job at Newcastle with literally no money available & I still rate the Eagle as an underrated legend...
As a Pompey fan I really hope Birmingham City go up at the first time of asking because League One is a hard league to get out of. Just ask the likes of Ipswich Town, Coventry City,Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County,Bolton Wanderers and a few other 'upper tier' teams. Once you miss out on the first season,it becomes a nightmare.
As a Pompey fan, League One is a tough place to be and a tough league to get out of. We found that out. But I wish you the best of luck next season and hope you can find your way back to the Championship

The rooney experiment was a major cause for the blues going down. He was struggling at dc United, and because the american owners wanted to boost their online socials its cost them. Eustace saved them from relegation previous season then this season got the blues in a play off spot 4pts clear of 7th place. Real bad decisions the board made i hope for the loyal fans they come straight bk up

Knowing how big your channel is you should of asked from a media presentation to the blues at there reception, i truly believed they would of let you in the ground as blues owners and staff want to premote perspective on out side views. In the coming seasons, if you want to do a blog at the ground, you're always welcome to come to the game and the lads from block 39 / 40 with other youtubers / blogers will sort you out with a seat and make you welcome. You know, it's kinda funny you happened to go to St Andrews when we got sent down. Even my dad and I (Birmingham City family) had to laugh, only we could do our job on the final day, have three unlikely results not go our way, and really we'd have been safe if we could just beat the bottom two in the run-in...

Cov fan here, couldn't believe it when they sacked Eustace to be replaced with Rooney. Under Rooney they were one of the worst teams I'd seen at the CBS this season (though it was brilliant hearing all the fans, Birmingham included singing there's only one John Eustace together), but it seemed they really got the players playing towards the end of the season, just a little bit too late (thumped us 3-0 when our mind was on the cup). I've got no Beef with Birmingham and appreciate what they did for my team, hope they come back up, but as any team that goes down from the Champ soon can find out, it's easier to sldie into L2 sometimes than come back up and it's one of those divisions you can easily get stuck in.
Everton fan here. What on earth is going on at Birmingham? You should be mid table Premier with such a large fan base. Always had 'interesting' banter with the Tilton End. I thought we were badly run. New board in, get a grip.
Hi Leicester City fan here I know how you feel because 12 months ago I felt the same way. We were relegated from the premier League and I was devastated like you.I hope you can come straight back up to the championship.👍
Without the bitter the sweet ain't so sweet. I remember when we (Leicester) got relegated to League One, it was the first time it had happened in our history. Our best claim to fame was 6 FA cup finals runners up, and never being outside the top 2 flights. Turns out out relegation to league one was the beginning of the best time of our existence. We came back first time, had a few goes at the Championship and the rest everybody knows. But my point is, keep supporting your home team, they need you and you're already screwed because you invested far too much. Who knows where you will bounce back to. This is the bitter, the sweet will be there down the line. Edit: Also, it was definitely the Rooney appointment that completely screwed you over!
Great Upload 👍🏻Fair play to that lad as well because its not easy to talk about your team after being relegated on the last day..But surely every Birmingham City will be hoping that they will come straight back up because they are definitely to big a club to be in that 1st Division
The appointment of Rooney sent them down, it sent them into a tailspin they never recovered from. They can take inspiration from Ipswich. I hope they get back to the Prem.
yes relegation is gutting as I been there with my team and this is where a team that goes down has to show resilience in the next season in adapting to the new conditions but with clubs like Birmingham should bounce back. I mean my team is Ipswich and we spent 4 years in league one and until circumstances changed like new owners which was the one thing we needed as Evens was running the club into the ground but with the perseverance and building back the fans faith in the club and being wise with what we spent the money on makes all the difference and our fortunes have turned. Remember we were out the premiership 22 years ago. I will say that Birmingham did the same thing as Ipswich with having a manager who name is more famous than their coaching qualities. We had Roy Keane and look at what he did and I will say that in the same comparison to Birmingham. Birmingham is a club that should have never gone down, but it bad choice in choosing Rooney was the start of a spiral and having too many changes in management does not help the players either as they have to keep adapting to each manager styles from scratch and leaves them unsettled.
They have a decent sized supporter base and carry the name of England's second largest city. They should be a giant. It could be a smart investment for the new owners providing they have the smarts for how run a football club etc.
No there not, true Brummies support the team that bears the name of the city,-- ii,e Jasper Carrott,Stephen- Knight, and your Brummies are-Prince William and Tom Hanks,--typical KRO@@purplecrayon7281
This is disappointing. For years, I've been hoping that Birmingham City would find their way back to the top (partly because the Birmingham derby is amazing), but now that's a whole step farther away.
Yes but they'll bounce straight back,, we'd have done it first attempt as well if it wasn't for a ridiculous top 3 last season and that's after the mess we were in,, we literally had 5 players during that summer and had to throw a side together under restrictions and still finished 7th which was after another one of our collapses from Feb,, we were 4th and within spitting distance of 2nd, wed caught Ipswich just after the new year. Birmingham do not have all those problems,, theyll have a very weak L1 as well, Bolton go up tomorrow there's no challenger to them the rest are quite average.
it might turn out to be a blessing to have been relegated so the new ownership team can get their bearings and figure things out and then make your way back to the EPL and be a constant. it is a punch to the gut when your team is horrible but sometimes the ability to regroup and come back stronger and more consistent is what is needed.
As a Birmingham resident it's a shame to see Birmingham City to down they carry the name of the great city and I know/hope they will bounce back. As a Villa fan HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
My childhood was on the Terraces of St Andrews, around where you filmed most of this. It looks nothing like it did in my day. The Blues will rise again. 'Rise' being a relative term, obviously.
Partially relieved it wasn't us at Blackburn but I do feel for Birmingham where it feels like one decision sent them from a likely mid table finish to relegation
surprised you came to small heath, im glad you have though, im only 16 and cant remeber the prem at all, over the last years we have not finished above 17th , Matt touched on our owners, but they were bad as you know with your past owners. If we went down last yea i would not have a team to support, so to be honest im glad its happend now, Blues ground had been in disrepair, and im sure you know all about it and the fact the owners have already put millions into the club, unlike the proven criminals before who didnt do anything to the club. I thinking next season we wont get promoted unfortunatly but thats typical blues, ill still be there, home and even more away as ill be in college KRO i hope you get promoted as of this message it has literally kicked of . Up the blues and i cant believe Villa are champions league
As a Villa supporter I don't know what to think of this. Yes, the Bluenoses are going in the direction they deserve but it means Villa will have to wait many many years to play them again in a derby. When will we beat them again?
Always thought that limp performance would come back to bite Norwich. And yep, giving up that 5th place lined them up for a predictable hammering from 3rd place Leeds. And let’s face it, Birmingham have been circling the relegation plug hole for years. It’s finally happened now. Derby days with Shrewsbury, dear oh dear.
So, I'm an American and not a football fan [soccer, that is]. I have friends who are, one an Arsenal Gooner and one who loves Leeds. I pick up some of the EPL system from them, and yeah, Welcome to Wrexham as well. My Leeds friend hit me with an interesting turn of phrase I thought some of you might appreciate. "The hardest individual skill in sports is hitting an MLB fastball but the single hardest thing for a team and organization to do is come back from Premier League relegation and stay there." Props to my buddy Andy for that one.
Soccer is another British word but real fans dislike this so is what it is called Football from the very first game to present unlike American so called football which 99% of the time is thrown and ran with.
@@richardbarton2709 Well, as I say I'm an American, and it makes sense to differentiate the two. By the way, have I shared with you the Gospel According the Seattle Seahawks 🤣
Normally, 50pts will guarantee you Championship safety so Birmingham were unlucky to go down despite hitting the 50pt target. I imagine it will be a one season blip in League 1 like when Hull City got relegated in 2020. I'm confident Birmingham City will make an immediate return.

How’s Anne-Marie?
That music brought me back to clubs back in the day.
I’m a villa fan and don’t want to see blues go down. Met Will in a pub in Birmingham and was so friendly
Respect to Birmingham from a Cardiff fan, also remember when the Zulus were on top of their game 😉 #IfyouKnowyouKnow
Wow what a fantastic interview. Great video as always.
Great video thankyou UTV
As a Pompey fan, League One is a tough place to be and a tough league to get out of. We found that out. But I wish you the best of luck next season and hope you can find your way back to the Championship
Another great video. Great to hear these stories. Great work.
Luton were relegated, but with 12 key player injuries and a squad worth 25 million, I thought Luton battled hard. On to the Championship we sail.
Not really if forest loose 13-0 and you win your safe
@MCFCReacts play Scott Carson next match Ortega is ill
@@declangaming24I think Pep would rather play True than put Carson in goal.
@@darthpishkot Carson isn't that bad you gotta give him a chance last match he played he kept a clean sheet he's a veteran keeper and deserves another match. He's only made 2 appearances for them in his carrer.
Hopefully u do a Charlton by bouncing back as champions and staying in the PL for the foreseeable future
Always liked Birmingham as a club. Went to see them as an Away fan with Luton when I was in uni. I have a few friends there and I know how this has affected them. I know relegation feeling (well, we will know tomorrow but its guaranteed now). Hopefully, they come back up next season.
The rooney experiment was a major cause for the blues going down.
He was struggling at dc United, and because the american owners wanted to boost their online socials its cost them.
Eustace saved them from relegation previous season then this season got the blues in a play off spot 4pts clear of 7th place.
Real bad decisions the board made i hope for the loyal fans they come straight bk up
Bounce back not inevitable. Ask Sheff Wed, Portsmouth, Bolton
Wolves did it. But yeah, most big clubs that find themselves down there take a couple of seasons or more.
Or Blackpool 😖
condolences to birmingham fans. look at the bright side of "at least you get to watch new teams and go new places next season"
My mate is a Birmingham City fan and I’m an Oxford Utd fan, and since we won the playoff final yesterday, his club is in League 1 whilst mine is in the Championship now 😂
I discovered just recently your video channel. We need more voices like yours in the football world. Great work!
I would, anyway. Thank you for the video.
Kro 🇬🇧🏴💙🤍
You know, it's kinda funny you happened to go to St Andrews when we got sent down.
Even my dad and I (Birmingham City family) had to laugh, only we could do our job on the final day, have three unlikely results not go our way, and really we'd have been safe if we could just beat the bottom two in the run-in...
We’re all laughing as well lad 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mucha fuerza Birmingham is blue 💙
I heard from one of my Bluenose mates that you were seen around St Andrews on the last day of the season in the Championship. I’ve been looking forward to this video. UTV
As a trance head, adore that you’re used Born Slippy as the backing music..
Another fantastic video. This encapsulates almost every emotion true fans of English football can perfectly relate to in barely 10 minutes. Genius.

Most fans in the city are Villa fans, unfortunately.

This is disappointing. For years, I've been hoping that Birmingham City would find their way back to the top (partly because the Birmingham derby is amazing), but now that's a whole step farther away.
Compliments from Derby. Karma is lovely.
You love to see it
Yes but they'll bounce straight back,, we'd have done it first attempt as well if it wasn't for a ridiculous top 3 last season and that's after the mess we were in,, we literally had 5 players during that summer and had to throw a side together under restrictions and still finished 7th which was after another one of our collapses from Feb,, we were 4th and within spitting distance of 2nd, wed caught Ipswich just after the new year. Birmingham do not have all those problems,, theyll have a very weak L1 as well, Bolton go up tomorrow there's no challenger to them the rest are quite average.
Mind the gap Direby.

I’m a Fulham since 1966 , rough and smooth go together in football ,
it might turn out to be a blessing to have been relegated so the new ownership team can get their bearings and figure things out and then make your way back to the EPL and be a constant. it is a punch to the gut when your team is horrible but sometimes the ability to regroup and come back stronger and more consistent is what is needed.
As a Birmingham resident it's a shame to see Birmingham City to down they carry the name of the great city and I know/hope they will bounce back.

Thank you for reminding me of Trainspotting.
My childhood was on the Terraces of St Andrews, around where you filmed most of this. It looks nothing like it did in my day. The Blues will rise again. 'Rise' being a relative term, obviously.
Havent heard Born Slippy for such a long time. Great choice for the soundtrack
Sad being relegated I’m a Sunderland fan so I am used to it!

Fair dues girl, you are doing a tremendous job with all this archive on the league, I love it.
I love your humour. Please keep doing your brilliant work
Great video!! Thank you for creating these videos. I love seeing these different perspectives.
Partially relieved it wasn't us at Blackburn but I do feel for Birmingham where it feels like one decision sent them from a likely mid table finish to relegation
love your videos, so refreshing

Top, top video and insights as always!
surprised you came to small heath, im glad you have though, im only 16 and cant remeber the prem at all, over the last years we have not finished above 17th , Matt touched on our owners, but they were bad as you know with your past owners.
Thank you.
I have not been to Birmingham City FC since 1967, nice looking stadium, I wish them well.
She is literary the most beautiful women in the world.
Oh please do away with the violin shrill suspense music. I stopped watching TV because of it.
Great duo, big fan of both of you. If only they didnt sack Wazza.

Normally, 50pts will guarantee you Championship safety so Birmingham were unlucky to go down despite hitting the 50pt target. I imagine it will be a one season blip in League 1 like when Hull City got relegated in 2020. I'm confident Birmingham City will make an immediate return.
The use of born slippy, absolutely splendid Nieve.
