Legal advice has been got, so praying it resolves some time soon for everyone involved. We were so excited for dog cuddles lol. Going to go get lost in nature in Romania to soothe our souls we think ❤️
We are currently in Romania and you'll definitely find a home and room in your heart for a dog. We haven't found a park up yet that doesn't have at least one stray dog. We're getting through twice as much dog food as normal. We'll done for trying and doing your best. Maybe we'll see you on the road and definitely check out Turda Gorge.
My husband and I are Americans who lived in Sombor for 4 1/2 years and we love it there! Now we live in Kruševac. We are happy to hear how much you love Serbia because we do too☺️. More people should visit.

Wow, that sounds like one dodgy shelter. It’s such a shame there are innocent animals stuck in the middle of it. You did your best for her. I’m just sorry there isn’t a better ending. Hopefully someone in Serbia will see this video and adopt her. It’s not the outcome you wanted but at least Rosie will have a home and family in her native country. Thankyou ❤️❤️❤️ from all the stories people are now sharing with us it seems very very difficult to export a dog legally from Serbia, but Chesca is still fighting and we are all hoping for a positive outcome. I've kind of admitted defeat with DJI, it was causing me too much stress to keep arguing with them and UPS. We are looking into an alternative drone for our trip now. If I knew it would have been such a shit show I could have just took it to an unofficial repair shop, it wouldn't have even been a hard fix! But now it's lost in Serbian postal system somewhere nd DJi were being liars about replacement, so I just couldn't be bothered anymore. Onwards and upwards eh 😂

Oh my. What a roller-coaster 😪 having worked in rescue for 5 yrs in Cyprus till last year. I know how dire those places are. This guy sounds a right A hole, probably looking for a bribe to speed things along. Most deffinately not got the dogs welfare as a priority, or making room in his no doubt over run pound, for another stray to come in off the streets. So sorry for Rosie and for your stressful times. My son had a terrible time getting a stray dog out of China, it took months, tons of paperwork, cost 2K and no shelter was even involved. The govt didn't want to lose that stray dog, lol. He's sleeping here right now though and it was worth all the trouble. Thanks so much for trying. I'm not a fan of the humans but you guys are good ones. 😘

@@phillyandkeely yeah, the USA only cared about the rabies proof, all the resistance was from the Chinese side, multiple vet visits, ID implant, hours spent in govt offices, they ended up having to fly out in separate planes for some crazy reason! Most helpful was having a friend who spoke Chinese, without that probably wouldn't have been successful.

I'm really sorry to hear that this happened to you. Were you able to see if the dog is at the shelter at all? This sounds like a scam to me. Maybe it's a case for the police.
He lets us see her once, so we know she is still alive, but she is not in very good condition, I don't think she copes well with all the other packs etc. She was clearly an abandoned pet and has so much love for people, so don't think she enjoys shelter life. Our friends are continuing to work on getting her released and have got legal advice on how to get her out, so we are all still hoping for a happy ending.
I'd of run a mile as soon as he said meet in a shop for coffee and then didn't turn up for ages. It sounded like a massive scam. All my alarm bells were ringing as you were telling this story.
Our alarm bells were ringing loudly too lol, but we just kept giving benefit of the doubt for our friends and for the dog, but ultimately we all had to listen and now legal advice has been given and I think the fight is far from over with the Shelter, but for us it's time to get back into nature and ground ourselves again. If the papers ever exist we will come back for her I'm sure.

So sorry for you not getting the outcome we all hoped for. My gut feeling is the guy at the rescue centre that offered to put Rosie up for Chesca and Ben in his own home while the paperwork got sorted has got too attached to her to give her up and is just giving you guys the run around knowing you’re a long way from home and will have to move on some day but why doesn’t he just say that instead of treating you like this? We house sit and farm sit on a website called Mind my House while vanlifing. It gives you a break from living in the van, gets all your washing done for free, local knowledge and you look after all types of animals from dogs and cats to sheep and geese etc. There’s sits from 2 days to 2 years all around the world. They give feedback on you and the other way round. Then you move on without the ties and find memories. Give it a look up. If you want to know any more let us know. Maybe you won’t have to eat all that dog food after all! 😂

That is truly heartbreaking. 💔💔 I remember that episode from Overlanding Sophia, the shelter seemed ... rustic, but also noble at the same time. Very disheartening that they are giving the runaround now. Just to try to lift a burden, every one of your videos doesn't have to be happy, it's enough they are always honest. Your hearts are obviously very heavy thru this trial, I hope you are getting enough virtual hugs in the comments. Nevertheless, Fruska Gora beautiful nationa park, 2hrs from Sombor🏞 , bear season 😂. Sremska Mitrovica has a wealth of ancient history, very easy on the eye, it's the wine district, and Novi Sad on the Danube is very pretty, huge Petrovaradin Fort. They're all easily reachable couple of hours. If you go Subotica, careful where you park, (lots of transient migration through this area in particular(, want you to leave with good memories. This is awful for all concerned. There's a British org that rehouses strays from Serbia, liaise with them and ask, have they any previous dialogue/liaisons etc with said, shelter. They'll put you straight, as they're a dog charity specialising in Serb dogs but UK based, they may liaise on your behalf. We look after street cats. Sorry for your experience. Just found your channel and I am so disappointed with your experience with a dog rescue in Serbia (my country of origin). The only advice I can give to your friends about Rosy is to get media involved if they can. Somehow everything gets resolved in Serbia once the public learns about it through media. On the other hand, you are heading next to Romania (my adoptive country)! My god you are in for a treat, especially if you are going to Transylvania. Don't forget to visit fortified monasteries there, its like they popped out of the fairy tales! and the nature is otherworldly! Lots of people skip Apuseni mountains and go straight to staple places like Balea Lac, Brasov, Sigisoara (ofc all beautiful places)... but if you want true Romanian wilderness, Apuseni is a must. You are good guys the same as others who donate to charities. Unfortunately there is lots of people that play on the goodness of people. I have to be there in person to give charity to another otherwise you don’t know what it’s being used for.

I was very saddened to see this video after watching how much fun you had last time in Serbia. I was happy to see that in the end they’ve managed to adopt her, but I don’t like the insinuation that the dog would have been ki!!ed in the shelter. It’s illegal to torture and kill dogs here and it’s not only in theory, but you will go to jail if you do that. I have no experience with shelters, I’ve taken my sweet lil girl as a puppy off of the street, but I have multiple friends who adopted from shelters and had no problems. I guess it was because you’re foreigners and you’ve dealt with a shi!!y shelter, even thou most shelters are run by lovely animal loving individuals, some unfortunately aren’t so good. Well, the important thing is that she’s out of the shelter now and has a forever home! 🥰
Yeah so glad that she got home safely. She is living a very happy life now which we are so pleased about. It was a long and difficult process, but I know she was worth it ❤️
Well that sure is an unhappy ending. Crazy how it’s been made impossible to give a stray dog a home. So is the drone a lost cause? You’ll have to just buy a new one?
We think we may have to buy a new one yes, or else fly back to the UK to collect our replacement one lol. We will just be droneless for a few weeks while we figure it out. Very difficult getting stuff imported out here.

We are currently in Romania and you'll definitely find a home and room in your heart for a dog. We haven't found a park up yet that doesn't have at least one stray dog. We're getting through twice as much dog food as normal. We'll done for trying and doing your best. Maybe we'll see you on the road and definitely check out Turda Gorge.

I've kind of admitted defeat with DJI, it was causing me too much stress to keep arguing with them and UPS. We are looking into an alternative drone for our trip now. If I knew it would have been such a shit show I could have just took it to an unofficial repair shop, it wouldn't have even been a hard fix! But now it's lost in Serbian postal system somewhere nd DJi were being liars about replacement, so I just couldn't be bothered anymore. Onwards and upwards eh 😂

So sorry for Rosie and for your stressful times. My son had a terrible time getting a stray dog out of China, it took months, tons of paperwork, cost 2K and no shelter was even involved. The govt didn't want to lose that stray dog, lol. He's sleeping here right now though and it was worth all the trouble. Thanks so much for trying. I'm not a fan of the humans but you guys are good ones. 😘

@@phillyandkeely yeah, the USA only cared about the rabies proof, all the resistance was from the Chinese side, multiple vet visits, ID implant, hours spent in govt offices, they ended up having to fly out in separate planes for some crazy reason! Most helpful was having a friend who spoke Chinese, without that probably wouldn't have been successful.
Yeah so weird, you would think the best option as a country is to make it super easy but super expensive lol, so you get rid of your strays and make loads of money from foreigners lol

Wow! What an eventful couple of weeks you've both had.
I know it's not turned out as everyone who watched the vlog wanted it to, which is extremely sad but please take comfort with everything you tried to do to make it happen for your friends and the dog. The main thing is you had each other for support which there is no substitute.

I'm really sorry to hear that this happened to you. Were you able to see if the dog is at the shelter at all? This sounds like a scam to me. Maybe it's a case for the police.

He lets us see her once, so we know she is still alive, but she is not in very good condition, I don't think she copes well with all the other packs etc. She was clearly an abandoned pet and has so much love for people, so don't think she enjoys shelter life. Our friends are continuing to work on getting her released and have got legal advice on how to get her out, so we are all still hoping for a happy ending.
Yeah for a while we wondered if he even had her, so he did let us see her that night, so she is definitely still there.

I'd of run a mile as soon as he said meet in a shop for coffee and then didn't turn up for ages. It sounded like a massive scam. All my alarm bells were ringing as you were telling this story.
Our alarm bells were ringing loudly too lol, but we just kept giving benefit of the doubt for our friends and for the dog, but ultimately we all had to listen and now legal advice has been given and I think the fight is far from over with the Shelter, but for us it's time to get back into nature and ground ourselves again. If the papers ever exist we will come back for her I'm sure.

So sorry for you not getting the outcome we all hoped for. My gut feeling is the guy at the rescue centre that offered to put Rosie up for Chesca and Ben in his own home while the paperwork got sorted has got too attached to her to give her up and is just giving you guys the run around knowing you’re a long way from home and will have to move on some day but why doesn’t he just say that instead of treating you like this? We house sit and farm sit on a website called Mind my House while vanlifing. It gives you a break from living in the van, gets all your washing done for free, local knowledge and you look after all types of animals from dogs and cats to sheep and geese etc. There’s sits from 2 days to 2 years all around the world. They give feedback on you and the other way round. Then you move on without the ties and find memories. Give it a look up. If you want to know any more let us know. Maybe you won’t have to eat all that dog food after all! 😂

That is truly heartbreaking. 💔💔 I remember that episode from Overlanding Sophia, the shelter seemed ... rustic, but also noble at the same time. Very disheartening that they are giving the runaround now.
Just to try to lift a burden, every one of your videos doesn't have to be happy, it's enough they are always honest. Your hearts are obviously very heavy thru this trial, I hope you are getting enough virtual hugs in the comments.

Nevertheless, Fruska Gora beautiful nationa park, 2hrs from Sombor🏞 , bear season 😂. Sremska Mitrovica has a wealth of ancient history, very easy on the eye, it's the wine district, and Novi Sad on the Danube is very pretty, huge Petrovaradin Fort. They're all easily reachable couple of hours. If you go Subotica, careful where you park, (lots of transient migration through this area in particular(, want you to leave with good memories. If I had rembered you were based in Belgrade we probably would have been hitting you up while we just spent days hanging around the area lol. This is awful for all concerned. There's a British org that rehouses strays from Serbia, liaise with them and ask, have they any previous dialogue/liaisons etc with said, shelter. They'll put you straight, as they're a dog charity specialising in Serb dogs but UK based, they may liaise on your behalf. We look after street cats. Sorry for your experience. Just found your channel and I am so disappointed with your experience with a dog rescue in Serbia (my country of origin). The only advice I can give to your friends about Rosy is to get media involved if they can. Somehow everything gets resolved in Serbia once the public learns about it through media.
On the other hand, you are heading next to Romania (my adoptive country)! My god you are in for a treat, especially if you are going to Transylvania. Don't forget to visit fortified monasteries there, its like they popped out of the fairy tales! and the nature is otherworldly! Lots of people skip Apuseni mountains and go straight to staple places like Balea Lac, Brasov, Sigisoara (ofc all beautiful places)... but if you want true Romanian wilderness, Apuseni is a must. But please be aware of shepherd dogs in the mountains. They are mostly docile and calm, but some can be easily provoked and they are huge!
Wish I was still there to host you, but I moved on to my third adoptive country, so if you are ever in Northern Sweden, you are welcome :)

Dog has got a passport with my wife name in it. Owner doesn’t have to be a Serbian citizen. Could you tell me what is a shelter name so I can give them a call?

I was very saddened to see this video after watching how much fun you had last time in Serbia. I was happy to see that in the end they’ve managed to adopt her, but I don’t like the insinuation that the dog would have been ki!!ed in the shelter. It’s illegal to torture and kill dogs here and it’s not only in theory, but you will go to jail if you do that.
I have no experience with shelters, I’ve taken my sweet lil girl as a puppy off of the street, but I have multiple friends who adopted from shelters and had no problems. I guess it was because you’re foreigners and you’ve dealt with a shi!!y shelter, even thou most shelters are run by lovely animal loving individuals, some unfortunately aren’t so good. Well, the important thing is that she’s out of the shelter now and has a forever home! 🥰
Yeah so glad that she got home safely. She is living a very happy life now which we are so pleased about. It was a long and difficult process, but I know she was worth it ❤️

Well that sure is an unhappy ending. Crazy how it’s been made impossible to give a stray dog a home. So is the drone a lost cause? You’ll have to just buy a new one?
We think we may have to buy a new one yes, or else fly back to the UK to collect our replacement one lol. We will just be droneless for a few weeks while we figure it out. Very difficult getting stuff imported out here.

Was just thinking about what a great life Scout has now with Chesca and Ben, such a shame for Rosie, although there are literally millions of stray dogs in Greece, Turkey and all the countries around there so impossible to save them all.
