- So, I headed into some random woods in the middle of the city and decided to camp for survival...for a day. The goal is to build my shelter aka hammock, catch food aka fish, and build a fire to catch said food...or boil and try my first MRE.

Trying a place less like this one.. where you can actually cook with out the forest fire. Corpus Christ would be nice with a catch clean and cook epi. Would be epic and that way you can't for get anything in the truck because it will be with you.
Facts, I plan on doing a camp and cook in Port A this year.

I only started Hammock camping and overnight camping/stealth 2yrs ago. i saw a lot of myself in your video and can really relate to the joy of experiencing this part of the outdoor experience, If you liked the beef stew your going to love the chicken and dumplings - It's by far the best MountainHouse meal!!! 😎What it DO?! You should ALWAYS check your equipment BEFORE you go into the field. Also, make a checklist of all the equipment and supplies when packing. Always have more water than needed. Like Daviddura said double the amount needed. Yes, there is a feature on your phone to identify plants. That was Onion Grass that is definitely edible. Overall, I give you a 6 out of 10. Not too bad, just need to prep better. Might want to re think the fishing pole and just get a better 2pc set-up. Definitely enjoyed the effort. Need to get out more. PEEEEAAACCEEE!!!💯🤙🏾
Great tips. I really like the rod and reel. Anything I can stuff in my bag to keep me hands free is a go. I'll get better and plan on a 2 night camp next week

It is an onion, called onion grass, and can be eaten. Sometimes if I get around a bunch of them, I can smell them.

That is a dehydrated meal. They work and last long.
I'm too scary and can't pack enough ammo to go camping in Texas. That spider would have been capped 5 times just for moving. I enjoy watching others do what I won't, though. I would set a trap for a very small animal, just to prove that I could live off the land, release it, pack up, and then go to BK and get that #2 Combo...KING SIZED.

Went camping one weekend a month for 3 years no matter the weather in Boy Scouts. Was not always fun but wouldn't trade it. Course now wouldn't without a pea shooter.
