  • I had it all: EMT, State Lifeguard Paramedic, State Park Rangers, Orange County Fire & Paramedics, Orange County Sheriff Deputies--in that order, respond to the dog attack that I received without any warning, approximately 10-minutes before we were going to depart from our very first, 4-month camp hosting assignment on Wednesday, May 29th. It was the most blessed time that we had until I went into a crosswalk, following my hubby, with another couple, each with a leashed pit bull. The man's black, cropped eared dog, without a bark or growl, circled around behind him and jumped up to a standing position on his hind legs and bit down on my right arm. I felt my skin popping from his teeth clinching down and I panicked at how to get him off of me! I met his eyes stare and noted his jowls flared out on my forearm. Once pulled off, I was a gashed, bloody mess. Thanks to my husband's first-aid planning, he grabbed the kit inside our trailer door and found a roll of gauze to wrap my arm in, once he'd washed my arm down with a bottle of water.
(I filled out a "Potentially Dangerous/Vicious Dog Declaration" for Los Angeles County since the caretaker of the described dog above is from Northern Los Angeles County.)
I am thankful that the dog didn't attack me further by thrashing his head back and forth. I know that it could have been so much worse. I am very grateful for the agencies who have followed up on this incident and led me to the right services. This has all yet to be resolved, but I will let you know in a future vlog.
Anyway...I came home to a kitchen island full of projects! June has been, enjoyably, stitching and quilting non-stop, except for the prepping and hosting the June family gatherings.
I am so grateful to Laura-Lynn Fulford and Lois Quinn for their fine expertise in long-arm quilting. They make all the difference in finishing a quilt! I am so grateful to Tracee Provis who shared the Olympic Stitch chart with me. I was originally going to have one Summer Olympic start! It obviously has captured my attention and spun my around and around in the WIP stash room. Now I've got a start, AND two weeks worth goes at WIPs!
I am sorry to say that I am unable to credit where I acquired the "Lighthouse in a Bottle" from, and "Faded Flag" is by October House Fiber Arts, which I purchased from 123Stitch.com.
The fruity stamped cross stitch quilt "Lap Quilt--Berry" is by Plaid Bucilla.
Wishing you all a wonderful July! Take care and go adventure as much as possible.

You are a busy lady, oh your pool brings back memories from our pool ownership days. Sorry about your dog incident, I have a scar from a bite as a youngster, dogs still scare me when they jump. Camping is so amazing any time of the year

I have pretty much figured out my plan for "Stitch the Summer Olympics". I'll have to find the NapTime Stitcher so that I can use the hashtag.

I heard my name being called, so I rushed over to see what trouble I was in again. I am the great enabler hehehe Love seeing you all have fun in the pool and I am so glad that your injuries are healing nicely, such a scary thing to happen! I have some of the cross stitch charts you showed on my wish list, we obviously like a lot of the same stitches (no surprise there 😂) Take care my sweet friend, love you always 🥰

Mrs J, I so enjoyed this video. I love seeing the variety of sewing and stitching projects that you are working on and those that you have completed. I am so sorry that you got bit by a vicious dog. Michael was a bit by pitbull at the park years agoand is still traumatized. I wish you all the best in completing your Olympics challenge. I look forward to seeing your updates. As always wishing you the best for you and your family. Please let me know if it would be OK to get your number from Michael to send you some pics of my recent stitching projects.
