I just downloaded this as part of Pinball Arcade on XBox One. The real table scared me too much when I was a kid to actually play it! I'm so glad I get the chance to appreciate it now.
Such thing can happen in plenty of Bally multiball games, where the trough is using the kicker to load the balls into the trough. Williams games have slightly different outhole layout, which prevents such thing from happening, all though the ball can bounce back in similar way, if it just so happens to be in the right spot as other ball is kicked into the trough.
One of the most unforgiving pinball games when you approach for the first time. But, if you figure out the rules and manage to keep pace with it, this table is incredible.
We have one on location here, but the multiball's all janky - sometimes it works (but only ever two balls), sometimes it doesn't. Possibly because of that, they have the game set to carry over your bonus between balls. It really changes the whole dynamic of the game - suddenly, the aim of the game shifts from trying to start multiball to racking up a high bonus and bonus X as soon as possible. It ends up playing a lot like a more difficult version of Frontier in that regard.
Could play this pinball for at least 45 minutes at a time on the pinball arcade for ps4. Even though it is a simple table with as not as many targets/ramps etc as modern tables it is very engrossing. It just sucks you right in. Great classic table.
No delay speech? Can be this effect turned off? Centaur is the first game to have delaying speech ... And as we see, if you "must" to lose two balls, lose them at same time ... one ball will be saved by other kicking out ... the other jumps back onto flippers ;)
Regarding lack of echo, it seems that the special board which creates this audio effect is either disabled or broken. For the ball suddenly coming back into play, this is due to outhole design. One ball rests on the ball, which is about to get kicked in the trough. As that happens, the other ball bounces back from between the flippers. On Williams multiball games the outhole is slightly different, all though such thing can still happen. There was a clip of such thing happening on Fish Tales, which I can't find.
This is my best table on the Pinball Arcade for Xbox One. Sixth place on the all-time leaderboards! It's a fairly simple table, the one thing you have to do most of the time is hit the O-R-B-S targets to score the highest!

The art style reminds me of the Sin City comics, in terms of having a black and white appearance with just a hint of colour,
