It's a basic and almost universal rule among almost all food reviewers not to accept free items, and certainly never to receive free entire meals and then review them. It's done to avoid any suggestion of bias in their reviews. Now I'm certainly not suggesting that Danny has the same level of professional standards as a much more professional, reputable food reviewer writing for a national newspaper would, for example. But it's still a basic principle followed by most food reviewers at almost every level of the profession. Had Danny tasted and reviewed the pizza on video, there would be a bunch of outraged commenters here suggesting that his review was biased because he accepted it for free. Had Danny tasted the free pizza on video but not reviewed it, this would have been of zero benefit to either the business who provided it nor to his viewers who are here for reviews. Had Danny tried to act impartially by tasting and reviewing the pizza on video, and then paid for it afterwards to avoid any suggestion of bias, there would have been a bunch of outraged commenters here suggesting the review was inaccurate because the shop had received advance notice that the order was for a reviewer (that is, even more advanced notice than they already received when Danny walked in and ordered his main meal), and would have prepared a much better quality pizza than that which normal customers would receive. There is literally no winning with the people here who seem determined to ascribe the worst possible motives to every single thing that Danny does. He's not being rude here, and nor has his behaviour changed since he started making the big bucks as a number of people have suggested. In the event that he is now more likely to refuse to rate freebies compared to when he first started his channel, it's solely because he has now gained a greater level of professionalism and impartiality. Not because money has somehow corrupted him. I do realise the trolls will also suggest that Danny's near-universal awarding of 10s to most takeaways, and his rarely rating beneath say a 7 even for those that look pretty bad, suggests he is already biased anyway. But there's an important difference between having a systematic and universal tendency to always find the positives in almost every takeaway and rate them highly, and rating a specific business more highly than it warranted due to the influence of receiving a freebie (which is essentially a financial incentive) from them. EDIT: Wording updated to reflect that the pizza actually came from the same business as the paid meal, which I had not realised initially. Note that this in no way affects the validity of any of my comment around bias and impartiality, however.
This guy would love my area of south Florida. We got many foods and it's all good. Southern BBQ, many different island food like Jamaican and cubian, South and central America and Mexican. Plus seafood and a variety of of the Asian and other places represented. Some ox tail. Cuban sandwich. Ceveche, chicken and rice. Conch. BBQ ribs.
I really don't know why Danny seems so reluctant to try 'freebies' on cam. Sure it may seem like a ploy to get a better rating, but ultimately these people are super passionate about the food they make and want to expose more people to the options on their menu. Danny, I'm betting most of us want to see the extra content, let us know what you think of the extra food! You can still rate them honestly! Keep up the great work!

That chilli sauce is kind of like a chutney, deffo a unique sauce compared to most places. My favourite thing from Smashed and Pulled is the Pizza for sure, and the jokes they write on the packaging can be funny too 😁

Great video again Danny, but whenever you’re in Sheffield you MUST go to Engins grill in handsworth, the best food about. If you do go, would definitely recommend the mixed grill. Keep up the great videos 👍🏻💪🏻
There's a place just along the road called Cole's Corner (the green sign on the walls about 10 doors up) - they do lush Italian food, coffee, tea, sarnies, cakes and have pop up nights where they do Jamaican food, Sri Lankan food, Vietnamese food, etc. Lovely place with lovely staff. You can even buy vinyl records there if you have a turntable.
You’re 18 & cruising down London Road after fitting a new top of the range exhaust to your mean machine and drive past Smashed and Pulled. Later, your watching t’old Danny, who says you need to get your exhaust looked at! 😂
That looked like a good choice. I thought the price was a little excessive for that amount of food, but if it tastes good and they are quality ingredients maybe that's the justification.
Might have to stop here tomorrow as I'm in Sheffield tomorrow afternoon not far from London road .. it's so true the amount of food stops along there truly does remind me of London my former home 🥳

I thought Shababs was the best but now i’ve found this hidden gem and it’s blown me away! You won’t be disappointed with Birmingham curry ever again. Try the Lassawalla Gost it’s their grandmothers recipe.
