step 1: Watch this step 2: Get motivated and Use Morphling step 3: Have a three minute chase with five heroes step 4: Get caught and die step 5: Cry in a corner
the only problem with this guide is that what's happening on screen doesn't go with what you're saying - therefore its hard to pay attention. other than that - great guide!
A really great item for morphling is Drum of Endurance. It might sound support-ish item, but the stat gain(and stat gain is the most important for morphling) is one of the most cost-effective things in the game for morphling. In general, all items that give +stats to strength and agility are good, thats why ghost scepter is great for example.
Satanic is a thousand times better. Gives great strength, amazing Life-steal, and a free Brood-Ult. In any game you see where pros get Morphling really farmed, they will always build a satanic over a heart. Not to mention the fact that the regen from the heart is useless, since you can just life steal health back to full, or just tp back to base then morph back to lane.
LordScrambles Just what I was thinking. Thank God. I was almost scared as to why Satanic is not built on him. Nobody even mentions it. Getting linkens and eblade is great but if you are losing most if the lanes you need to switch the build and go something like Dragon Lance and SnY to come online earlier and help in team fights. Just my 2 cents though.
Regarding the skill set progression, if Morphling is on the easy lane, you can just place your first point into Morph Str/Agi. Morph your Str into Agi a lil bit to increase your base damage and thus have a far better chance of last-hitting creeps during the first wave. Again, I only suggest this if you're in an easy lane, or if your team is running an offensive trilane to help you farm.
Don't forget AA's ulti. Wrecks morphling up completely because morphling relies on his strength gain and he doesnt gain any health if he gets ice shattered.
This is one hero you probably should have mentioned lion as a specific counter. With two abilities that instantly kill illusions (hex and mana drain), he can insure that morphling never gets to make use of his ultimate. At the same time, he has the burst damage capabilities to kill him through strength morph in most parts of the game.
That one escape sequence is ridicolous, it's like no one knew Disruptor was blinking Morphling every now and then, allowing him to escape, they could've killed him easily.
It gives a solid amount of mana regeneration especially with heroes with low int start and gain. Morph gets 0.65 mana regen which is actually very high for its cost as the regen doesn't base off % like a linkens which gives you a lot but is very expensive. Which is great for earlier game. Hence solid mana regen, A Roa/Rob gives you more mana regen than a void stone until level 5. Much more efficient
the early game build from what ive seen during the international 2 is different. the starting items are wraith band (complete), a tango or salve, and first skill point into morph after that, items are pretty much the same. the skill build involves maxing morph first then waveform
Even though she falls under the 'hero with silence' part, I found drow is also a pretty decent counter to morphling, since in addition to the silence, the range difference between the two and her great kite-ability in combination with it is awesome against him.
Picking up Morph at level 1 provides lot of stats. Maxing it out at level 7 makes you very taugh to kill. Getting a bottle with power tread is damn powerful. As well as a Perseverance, you can really feel and tell the difference : Keep about 900HP, press F if you are ganked, switch power tread to agility when idling and farming to get the best of your mana/hp regen. Seriously this carry is so great to play during the early and mid game.
Currently in closed beta needing a key, but when released it'll be completely free to play. The only things you can buy are cosmetic items for heroes. If you want to get a beta invite now, you can usually find some people willing to trade for 2 treasure keys (£1.59 each).
If u rly think so, you dont get how important his morph ability is... If u are in a clash and get focus or try to escape you can always morph to strength, what makes you survive much longer. The most special thing about the spell is, that you can even morph, while you are stunned. So if u manage to morph at the right times on whatever you need in ur current situation Morphling becomes much more useful
I'm starting to play morphling just from 6.82 patch after like 3,4 game I'm finally having some improvement im trying to do the best farming safelane morph and well mostly im matching up against those who never let me farm but well I can usually end up building linken+skadi or linken+ethereal at 35 minute, and yes after watching this guide only thing i had to change was my starting item and I got so good one thing I've been missing was a just a slippers this few agility gave me reason why I was sucking at farming early game I'm now wrecking shit up making plays with replicates and shotguning bitches thanks for the guide
'Never' isn't really a word you want to use when you're talking about Dota. You could see a trilane like Venge/Lesh/Sand King and get chain-stunned right off the bat. If you had Morph in that situation, you wouldn't gain enough HP from it to survive. With Waveform, you can spot the initial stun coming and dodge it. Not to mention Waveform does a pretty respectable amount of damage.
That's understandable, just reading his abilities may cause confusion. They look more like a nukers arsenal, which he sort of is. You don't read the stat gain that much and if you do, you can see that it's really good.
0.65 early on in the game is extremely good and is very very solid mana regen especially for an agi hero like a morphling. Roa is generally there for the stats and regen as Morph is an agi that constantly uses mana and that 0.65 regen is vital, without it. You are going to have trouble morphing.
DotaCinema, Can you please do a guide on how to control multi-units? I don't see a great guide out there yet for people wanting to learn chen, meepo, syllabear, etc. Thanks in advance.
Well, it can depend on the game. If you have free farm/chances to get kills, go max waveform. If you're trying to stay alive or help push in a lane in about a minute and just hit level 6, that early ulti can help just that. This guide is a starting point really, hence why they give several options for most heroes to go and such.
hard lane farm build: Get 1 lvl Waveform at normal level 1 for escape Proceed to max Morph to get bonus agi and str and faster stat change Get 1 lvl adaptive strike if enemy got channeling spell Ultimate's at 6, 11 and 16 Reason for lvl 1 Waveform is as each skill level it increases mana cost, so you keep it lvl 1 to keep mana cost low while still having same "blink" range, only damage increases while maxing it (alongside mana cost)
New heroes are certainly coming soon (5 of them are expected in one update, too!) but nobody knows when. And the update added Skeleton King bot, a few bug fixes New Enchatress appearance (which was tweaked due to poor opinions of it) and Meepo voicelines + portrait in the game files. Also a few other changes but too many to list. Most of them minor, though.
I have a question that I've been wondering, and maybe someone could answer. Generally speaking, I enjoy picking who I play according to what my enemy team has. So pretty much counterpicking. But in what scenario would picking a morphling be the best option? I mean, I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but it just seems like generally there's other carries that would work better.
It's always 20 mana per second, leveling it increases the agility/strength gain per second from 1 point to 4. Thus allowing you to gain insane amounts of damage/health in a matter of 4-5 seconds, rather than waiting to get 1 point per second, costing you 20 mana each.
I haven't played dota 2 in a while so I don't know if they've changed this yet, but last time I checked the replicant displays the copied hero's name as well as colour on the minimap, unlike dota 1 which has the replicant use both the morphling's name and colour.
Please release a guide for Legion Commander too. She's a great hero for jungling and is awesome for ganking, specially if they have low HP, either they're support or carry. I would love to know you're opinion on her. Also awesome job on the guides. They're quite helpful.
just wanna say this (or share), i'm not trying to say something at all but all you need to do is remember all his skills and their effects, damage, etc. you could just read a guide from the forums, a guide from dota 1 will do. you just have to know exactly his 'purpose'. playing him in lobby matches a.k.a. practice match will do. happy gaming XD
What's the reasoning behind skilling E furthermore then past 1, over for example stats? I've had quite alot of good progress with Q, E + (Max Q) and stats build, since E is greatly benefitted by the stat transfer (and gain) from the passive +2 stats gain etc:
I don't agree with the suggested skill build Wave Form at lvl 1 is no must since u can get morph on lvl 1 for more ago thus easier last hits early on and secondly i'd rather skip ur ulti till you have maxed out wave form and morph since u won't have the mana to support switching to your illusion
I still remember old morph build for which life steal was primary focus, HoD was enough to no one could kill you but old naix. Now nuker is more popular build thx to EB . One important thing that this guide didn't tell, be careful with EB, if enemy has Lina or Lion you may regret buying it.
I personally play morphling maxing the wave first with one level of morph, and then stats.. I keep my life at around 900 adding agility as many times as i can and buy helm of the dominator as a core-early item.. Then depending on the situation i go for s&y, linkens or manta style and later satanic for tankiness.. Give this a go with bots or something to see if it does you any good.. :)
In the friends and foes section I think Witch Doctor should be given a special mention as a friend. Paralyzing cask, Waveform and Maledict is usually a certain kill.
I wouldn't recommend buying force staff, because it's delayes Linklens and Etheral Blade. It's an interesting idea, but a forcestaff is not an item for an hard carry, i think. I would like tosee the build.
But you do end up gaining +2 intellect and indirectly gives you more staying power overall from the stat bonuses, no? I might be off-the track, but skilling E furthermore past level 1 reduces the mana cost I guess? I can't remember from top of my head.
In a scenario where there is 2-3 thick DDs in enemy team (such as riki, mort etc) and shotgunning them. At the end you will still be able to outdamage most of them without your shotgun.
Isn't it true that Silencer should of been in the foe list that's good against Morph? because of all of silencers skills which is good against Morph's combos and he cant use his skills to heal or run away?
You need to realize that pure agi gets nuked down really quickly. In Dota, its not only about hitting hard, but also about not dieing, and thats what str morph is for.
that red thing .. is his ability .. morph .. whenever he turns agi. to str. a red aura surrounds him .. thus in vice versa instead of red, a green aura will surround him .. he came back to the lane because of disruptor's spell , glimpse ..
Because it's a more technical build -- there's an influx of newer players and Morphling isn't easy to pick up and be awesome with -- you have to wrap your head around his style. You'll see me using him at least
so... if i get an item which gives me a bunch of strength and then morph all my "original" strength into agi, i will still have the str (the hp gain) from the item?!
step 1: Watch this
step 2: Get motivated and Use Morphling
step 3: Have a three minute chase with five heroes
step 4: Get caught and die
step 5: Cry in a corner
+Sagar Rawat exactly so :v !!
**cries in 1k MMR**
1:27
pudge: you are in so much shit morph
7 seconds later
pudge: HELP
lol, good one
Hah
Once i replicated a low health void. He chronoed me but he got killed by his own replica XD
That's the 3 minute chase that got on hall of fame!
Insane escaping in the background
IM SHIVERRING WATCHING THAT MORPHLING...
that shit was fucking mental as fuck
I just came! :O
the only problem with this guide is that what's happening on screen doesn't go with what you're saying - therefore its hard to pay attention.
other than that - great guide!
+The Weather: Underground gonna have to watch it again, cause i wasn't listening just watching, so much fun hero
I've played Morphling a couple of times (since 6.82) and it looks like he got seriously nerfed. Waveform has a lot less range, for example.
morphing is really hard to play but is really fun to play as
I'm the most badass hero!
Indeed
Of course you would think you are badass
***** Do you even realize how much of a failure your trolling attempts are, you fucking mong?
***** If I wanted to hear from an asshole, I would have farted.
Really?
You missed pugna from the list of foes because of the nether ward :D it deals to hím 30dps if he is morphing, it's terrible for morphling :(
Not for a skilled morphling, just destroy the ward
eblade that bitch and 1 waveform to kill
A really great item for morphling is Drum of Endurance.

morph is okay against void because you can morph during chronosphere, and after that you can just morph back, and shotgun him.
That escapist Morph made me quiver!
freaking doom he's in almost every guide in the foe section looking scary

I'm pretty sure if you've played morphling enough you can make yourself immune from the ice blast during waveform
Damn that morphling escape was epic
Yeah .. I gotta say it again ..
It was Epic like I almost felt like my jaw was dropping hahaha

watch first guide videos of this chanell, when he's saying in whispers "skill build" "item build" "gameplay" etc.

so true! i always need to watch these guides twice because i always watch the scenes first :D
hard lane farm build:
Get 1 lvl Waveform at normal level 1 for escape
Proceed to max Morph to get bonus agi and str and faster stat change
Get 1 lvl adaptive strike if enemy got channeling spell

Usally I get:
Aquila->Boots->Ethereal->BKB/Linken(depending on what enemies I'm up against)->Skadis->Manta Style->Butterfly
Not quite.
Depends on the team and item build.
When there is evasion foes around you can always make an mkb

In general, you prioritize escape/stuns over everything else at level 1 in order to get or deny first blood.
I have a question that I've been wondering, and maybe someone could answer.

I mean, I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but it just seems like generally there's other carries that would work better.
At the beginning at the top of the picture frame after it says "Approved" it changes to Enigma Introduction instead of morphling...
if you didnt notice, the introduction window is titeled "enigma introduction".
hope this helps :P

what is that glowing red thing around morph near end of video? why did he tp and then suddenly came back to the lane?
4:30 still remember that clip from top 10
In the first part where it has the morphling hero spotlight is says enigma introduction
Please release a guide for Legion Commander too. She's a great hero for jungling and is awesome for ganking, specially if they have low HP, either they're support or carry. I would love to know you're opinion on her. Also awesome job on the guides. They're quite helpful.
yeah i'm not surely why legion ain't listed as a jungler, im pretty sure she's got better jungling capability than ursa
have seen blink by 6-8 mins with lc jungling. definitely viable
So i'll finally play morph properly... Ty guys keep doing this!! Now i'll watch the guide...
just wanna say this (or share), i'm not trying to say something at all but all you need to do is remember all his skills and their effects, damage, etc.
you could just read a guide from the forums, a guide from dota 1 will do. you just have to know exactly his 'purpose'. playing him in lobby matches a.k.a. practice match will do.
happy gaming XD
can't wait for that naga siren guide next, always wanted to learn how not to fail with her.
at last!! been waiting for this for a long time!!! :)
Okay thanks man! Really nice to know what the update did since there is no log at the DotA2 page :)
Yes, because DotaCinema makes heroes.
yey. more guides. I hope people that plays dota should watch this guide. because I keep on losing to allies that doesn't know how to play. lol
Should add Night Stalker to foes, always a good counterpick to morph. Really nice guide :)
What's the reasoning behind skilling E furthermore then past 1, over for example stats? I've had quite alot of good progress with Q, E + (Max Q) and stats build, since E is greatly benefitted by the stat transfer (and gain) from the passive +2 stats gain etc:
So who else had to rewatch a few clips of this morphling play? Sick ass clips.
how to team fight with this hero? just spells and get back? its pretty difficult to attack and change from agility to strength
I don't agree with the suggested skill build
Wave Form at lvl 1 is no must since u can get morph on lvl 1 for more ago thus easier last hits early on
and secondly i'd rather skip ur ulti till you have maxed out wave form and morph since u won't have the mana to support switching to your illusion
I still remember old morph build for which life steal was primary focus, HoD was enough to no one could kill you but old naix.
Now nuker is more popular build thx to EB .
One important thing that this guide didn't tell, be careful with EB, if enemy has Lina or Lion you may regret buying it.
how can u send wave and u stay on ur position? or is it because it is old version of dota? i mean action at 4.01
I personally play morphling maxing the wave first with one level of morph, and then stats.. I keep my life at around 900 adding agility as many times as i can and buy helm of the dominator as a core-early item.. Then depending on the situation i go for s&y, linkens or manta style and later satanic for tankiness.. Give this a go with bots or something to see if it does you any good.. :)
I didn't hear anything from 3:55 to 5:55
Such good plays by that morpling, can't believe he survived all that!
That red glow is the morph ability, red being morphling is morphing agility to strength, lowering his dps but gaining hp...
In the friends and foes section I think Witch Doctor should be given a special mention as a friend. Paralyzing cask, Waveform and Maledict is usually a certain kill.
if you aren't doing fine geting a sangue and yasha at mid game could help you to stand more at solokills and/or team fights.
I wouldn't recommend buying force staff, because it's delayes Linklens and Etheral Blade. It's an interesting idea, but a forcestaff is not an item for an hard carry, i think. I would like tosee the build.
so I heard that morphling got majorly nerfed? is this true? also if he did, is he still good and worth playing?
We only get wave and bonus at the early game and then get adaptative whenever ganking is a must
But you do end up gaining +2 intellect and indirectly gives you more staying power overall from the stat bonuses, no? I might be off-the track, but skilling E furthermore past level 1 reduces the mana cost I guess? I can't remember from top of my head.
just a little tip: e-blade doesnt cancel linkins sphere so you can still tp
yessss, luminous approval back
there's a link to naga siren guide at the end, but it says the video is private.
What the hell was morphs teammates doing that entire time?
It is dude... I can't remember which episode
23 or 24...
I wonder if there are elemental combi.....water/lightning or earth/fire.....to mix it up a bit...as well as elemental weaknesses....
Should I add the sange and Yasha to morphling?
!keyofa! I don't think it's bad, but Manta's just so good that I don't know why you'd ever go S&Y.
how long have this morphling been running away from the other team ?
In a scenario where there is 2-3 thick DDs in enemy team (such as riki, mort etc) and shotgunning them. At the end you will still be able to outdamage most of them without your shotgun.
no mention of morph first build? if you are confident enough
As we can see, the Invoker in the intro must be Quas, which would give some reason to the fact that blue was the most prominent colour.
This guide is brilliant thanks a great amount.
Isn't it true that Silencer should of been in the foe list that's good against Morph? because of all of silencers skills which is good against Morph's combos and he cant use his skills to heal or run away?
Clicked Video. Liked. Added to Favs. Watched.
ABOUT TIME!
What morphling can morph even if was ullted by a chronosphere or if was stunned
Question: why not getting morph lvl 1 for the 3 extra str and agi for better lasthit??
You need to realize that pure agi gets nuked down really quickly. In Dota, its not only about hitting hard, but also about not dieing, and thats what str morph is for.
that red thing .. is his ability .. morph .. whenever he turns agi. to str. a red aura surrounds him .. thus in vice versa instead of red, a green aura will surround him .. he came back to the lane because of disruptor's spell , glimpse ..
More or less, it's a closed beta what means that onle some people get to play, but to get the key it's free just go to dota 2 oficial site
Who is that hero Jiyeon
Why dragon knight in particular? I think you can morph even when you are stunned
you should have mentioned lion as morphling's foe, whose spells have an uncanny way of countering almost all of morphling's usual advantages.
What is the item that regens morph but doesnt grt dispelled?
