  • I tried the Double Bunker Roomette on the Sunrise Seto Express from Takamatsu to Tokyo. This roomette is perfect for those traveling in pairs or as a solo!

    I think bunk bed is the most common room in sleeper trains in Europe. You usually have the choice of sleeping in either a 4, 3, 2 or 1 person cabin if you take the sleeper train but I think most people take the 4 person room or just a seat because its the cheapest.

      I am learning Japanese and Korean (I am struggling severely with Korean). I have mild brain damage so use little differences in each Japanese word to help me remember. My brain damage is such that languages like Japanese look like art to me, so Japanese is a beautiful language to even see, let alone speak. These videos are so good and that Solo Solo has so many subtitles for their fans is amazing!

    That gyudon was half the price of a Big Mac in the US and probably way more delicious. I envy Japan for its sheer variety of reasonably priced and tasty fast food options.

    That is one of the best sleeper setups I've seen, if we had that in Australia on the Sydney Melbourne route I'd use it all the time. Australian trains are so primitive compared to Japan.

      @@CombustionofDoom on the single level trains, some of them do. On the other Amtrak trains, the roomettes don't. The Bedrooms do. Those are larger cabins.

    Cultural Question:
    When using amenities, like the bottom bed into seats, is it more polite to try your best to put things back how they were, or is it more polite to leave them to let the employees know "This was used" and then they would have an easier time putting things back in order as they know how to do it properly? As a bumbling American, I'd probably try to put everything back to not be rude...but what is usually preferred?

    I rode the Sunrise Seto once, The bunks were a bit cramped for me. (198cm) But still a wonderful trip. I didn't discover the table and seat arrangement, unfortunately.

    This train has a very nice set up. My favorite part was seeing the self cleaning shower. I wish I had one at home! The accommodations were good. Every time I watch your videos, I try to guess your age …lol
    So, my assessment is late 20’s early to mid 30’s. Based on youthful hands and your savvy knowledge of social media. You don’t have to tell, however, I always like to guess. Haha.

    This double is the same basic concept as an Amtrak roomette, except the Amtrak version is filthy dirty.

    Can you start again the shower after you stop it if you still haven't finish the 6 minutes time?

      If you don’t unlock the shower compartment (leave the shower compartment) you can stop it as many time as you like in that 6 min span
