In the U.K. there is rarely anything playful & if you stop at a small station you will probably be stuck there for more than an hour, with no food & drink & probably not even a warm waiting room, even if the weather is cold.

What a lovely trip and the beautiful seascapes and sunny weather along the way made it even more delightful 😂. By the way near the end in your very nice looking dinner box you mentioned there were some pickles, which immediately triggered late-evening hunger pangs in me, so as I don’t have any German/French sauerkraut (pickled cabbage) in the house at present, I immediately went along to my store cupboard and opened a jar of Korean kimchi (similar to sauerkraut, but with added garlic 🧄) which easily satisfied my ‘munchies’ 🤣😋.
