I've had this watch now, for 6 months (Switzerland). I can tell you it's REALLY good. Battery life is tops (3 weeks - no problem). The only thing that often doesn't work immediately is the oxymeter, but then I am tattooed where the watch is worn, so it may have to do with that. You have to place your other hand halfway over the watch face to have it measure correctly. But once you get the hang of it, it measures right away. My Withings Activité Steel is about 5 years now and it still works perfectly. The battery lasts about 6 months and I get compliments all the time about how good it looks.
Had it for a few months, as well as most of the Withings range and bar the short lived camera, never have an issue with them. I've moved from a Garmin Fenix 3hr sapphire to the Scanwatch for a daily wear.

Got the 38mm for Christmas and I have charged it 5 times since then. I wear it everywhere except the shower (though I am under the impression that I could wear it there as well). I love it. I also utilize the Body+ scale and the BPM Connect. I find the app easy to use and having all of my health metrics available as an exportable file to give to my doctor is super helpful.
I used one of the first models. I've always loved their core concept. It's a classic timeless watch also contains smart capabilities. Hybrid watch is my favorite smartwatch.
Have the 38mm one. I love it. The design is great and of course the battery. When I wake up one day to see 10% battery remaining i just think: "Well...i'll charge it in 3 days" because in 3 days it will still have 5% battery in it. One really needs to experience it to believe and understand. This also creates a problem tho... I've been wanting a more functional smartwatch for a while. Aka with contactless payments, changeable watch faces etc. And every time I see the battery life of suitable watches i go: "What do you mean the battery only lasts a week....?" So yeah. Try at your own risk.
I’ve had the Steel HR Sport for about two years and it’s great! I love the hybrid style and the functionality of it all and the blacked out details. The battery obviously will run down faster if you’re using it to record your runs, workouts, etc daily, but it still lasts a while!! Definitely recommend.
When you said these are 42 millimeter. My black instincts kicked in and I thought I heard 42 dollars. I immediately took my card out and star hopping on the bed for joy!😅😂😂
Beautiful watch. You can wear it as though it were a traditional, mechanical watch, while keeping track of all your health parameters and workouts. Worn with one of Withings interchangeable leather straps, it looks and feels like a gorgeous timepiece with all the added bonuses of an advanced and medically approved health tracker. Impressive device.
👍I bought this watch and made a detailed review if anyone is seriously interested in buying this watch. Just be careful where you buy it from because in some countries, certain features are disabled due to health regulations. I bought the UK version, which is fully unlocked. The Canadian version is crippled. Loving it so far though!
Have the Steel HR now and love the simplicity and battery life it offers and this would be a nice upgrade , but also holding out a bit of hope for a better Android smartwatch announcing this year. (ie pixel watch)
less of a review and a bit more home shopping network vibe on this one to be honest Lew. I was expecting you to give us a: Could be yours for 12 instalments of $39.95 lol
Since I like new tech I jumped into smartwatches pretty early on, but after a while I kinda got over them. And one of the reasons was battery life. Usually OK when new but after about a year it tends to get pretty bad, unless you turn off things to conserve power and what's the point of having all these options if you have to worry about conserving power. Plus honestly I just like the way traditional watches look better. So I've mostly gone back to wearing traditional watches, particularly mechanicl watches, I find to be appealing in a retro tech way. I have a Galaxy Watch 4 but it's essentially a fitness tracker (hey i got a really good deal on it thank Samsung). This is kinda intriguing because it has the look of something more traditional but does quite a bit of tracking but the best part as mentioned is that its battery life makes actually useable without battery anxiety, like most smart watches.
I bought the previous model of the Scanwatch, the Steel HR back in 2018. Started running in 2019. I use this watch for all my runs, and in everyday life, i'm flexing HARD this hybrid SmartWatch, the classic look combined with the advanced features amazes everyone !!!
I love my Huawei Band 6 which costs only 40 EUR (around 50USD). Even though it doesn’t have the french luxurious design it has all the features that this smart watch has and it has a battery that lasts for up to 14 days.
I own the 42mm version and ordered as soon as it became available in the US few months back. I wish the scanwatch horizon was available. As far as the tech goes, the SPO2 monitor and ECG does not work as smoothly. Otherwise I love it. Battery does last quite a bit.
Excellent design as always from the Withings team, clean and to the point. Crazy to think that for a time Nokia had this brand and products under their wing and decided to sell it to the founder. Retrospectively, for the better.
I picked up one of these while they were still Nokia. Its without a doubt the most overlooked smartwatch. It does everything, looks great and I still get around 21-22 days of battery time. I have no idea why these havent blown up
I have the original Withings Activité Sapphire made in Switzerland. Nice looking watch, measures sleep and steps and has vibration alarm. Lasts about half a year before battery needs to be replaced. Synchronization with phone is crazy slow and you have to open the app to sync. It doesn't sync in the background. Probably because of LE Bluetooth. I just use it as a nice regular watch and don't care about the "smart" features anymore. I have been using it for 7 years now.
What kind of activity do you record with it? I am a hard core classic watch wearer and really dislike the regular smart watches. This is the only watch I see in the market which looks like a beautiful watch. I'll probably only be wearing it to work, walking to and from the train station. Wondering if this is it for me.
These hybrid watches are really good for those who want that classic look and functionality without the worry of charging and distractions. I got my wife a Fossil Hybrid watch for Christmas as I know she is not that into too much fancy tech, and she absolutely loves it.
Didn't know how much I miss this set-up of Unbox Therapy until I watched this video. I also like the mancave set-up but this set-up where its just clean and product focused is much better in my opinion.
I also think it makes for a good smart watch having the best of both worlds, the classic analogue look and the smart digital features all in one. I particularly like the idea of the long lasting battery and not having to charge it all the time as mentioned and also the actual analogue watch supersedes the small screen which shows the secondary digital or smart functions. Didn't hear any mention about notifications or call making like other smart watches but I guess that's the trade off right there.
I think hybrid smartwatch is the way to go! The benefits of all the health trackers, the option to get smartphone notifications, but creates some frictions between being entirely connected to digital. I enjoy looking at what time it is without having to look at a screen and get distracted into a rabbit hole. I got the Garmin vivomove and super happy I got rid of my Galaxy "smarter watch".
I love hybrid smartwatches. They fix the problem with smartwatches with its ‘one day battery’ which tbh sucks. It should at the very least last for a week.
Which doesn't needed to be fixed in the first place ,the normal watch last at least 6 months per battery, for other purpose you can get a more professional tools at lower price , these health care bs on the watch is just some gimmick.
I always had a gshock or automatic watch I never wanted another phone on my wrist but I'm a dive watch nerd so I got a garmin descent mk2s, 7 days battery so not too bad
I’d have to check the website, but from memory it’s reasonably accurate - Withings are pretty picky about getting their sensors certified as medical grade before launching in countries. They delayed the Scanwatch in Australia over 6 months while they waited for the ECG to get certified, and they’re now the only smartwatch with a functioning ECG in the Australian market
I have been using withings pulse hr since last 8 months. The biggest factor which differentiates withings is accuracy and minimal design. Of course, the software is fabulous. There are some quality concerns on low end devices of theirs though. I had 2 pulse hr and both conked.
Nice One. We are family.. but I love new tech.. especially wrist tech.. so I've gotten nearly every brand of Smartwatch I can.. and then given them out as gifts. I presently use a Fit2, an Active2 AND a Watch3 (best looking formal everyday style). However, I also LOOOOVE Hybrids and currently have the Garmin Luxe in Gold and Fossil Retro Pilot HR in Silver (which I'll be upgrading to a Kronaby Apex Twin Blue Dial) for it's luxurious looks and IFTTT capabilities! WHEW!!!
I have both the Steel HR and Samsung Active Watch 2. I love the fitness aspect of both, but am finding that I don't use my samsung watch for emails or texts other than to see "who" sent something which the Withing will do (scrolls the first part of the text or email). This might be the perfect marriage of both for how I use my watches. And the price is reasonable.
I'm not a vegan of any type but does calf leather srsly mean leather from a calf? Like a baby cow? That's a little weird, why is another question. Is it better?
I own the original Withings Nokia smart watch, the steel HR sport and I hate it with a passion. The only good thing about it is the battery life which is tremendous at around 30 days. The HR monitor is so far out it's just not usable. Measured with a timer and pulse I was getting around 65 yet the watch was insisting it was 110, and that's if it can actually read it. I've been looking for a new one to replace it but won't be touching the scan watch. Your experience may be completely different, but once bitten tice shy, for me.
Normally, you use the inaccurate reading to just measure the difference of how much the HR raised. So you can confirm if you did a good workout session. Doesn't need to be accurate but just consistent.
@@Ratseeker You're entitled to your opinion, but I totally disagree. If no smartwatch was accurate I'd concede, but that's clearly not true. If I paid for a smart watch advertised as "accurate HR sensor" then that's what I expect to get, otherwise I'd just wear a mechanical watch and check my pulse manually ....... ridiculous. Wouldn't mind if it was a couple or 3 beats out, but occasionally as much as double what it actually is, even at rest?
For hybrid smartwatch, I use Fossil Hybrid HR .. classical mechanical watch, with E-ink background... I charge it once a month, reads messages and notifications, has stopwatch and some basic fitness features. You can change wallpapers, which stay always on and need no energy. Great watch overall. I find it much better than this watch.
I used the watch for a few weeks, and while it looks good I can‘t recommend it. The heart rate is almost always wrong, when my BPM goes all the way up to 150+ the watch just tracks half of my actual heartrate.
Meanwhile here I am charging my Apple Watch Series 6 every night. Although better battery performance would be nice, charging it so often doesn’t bother me that much.
I don't understand the complaint people have about charging daily. Just plop it on the magnetic charger when you go to bed. Most people take their watch off when sleeping anyway. Couldn't be easier
Most people don’t wear traditional watches, yet everyone except Apple is obsessed with trying to make smart watches look like an unpopular piece of jewellery. Weird.
I use whiting watch for such a long time. I start whit pop, move to steel and now I have hr model and its a great way to track all your activity and has classic style. Every watch lives on mi wrist minimum of 3 years. Only I distroid them by my havy use, first watch died after I jump to the what from 7 m toll tower, and the survive but has some what under glass, the steis whit what for 1 year and it's great work.
Goodbye Samsung Classic 4… I am buying the Withings with the white face. Have to charge my Classic 4 at least 2 times a day. Spend more time on the charger than on my wrist. Wonderful that is works with OS & Android…thanks…🤗
He never charged it as he said on the video and didn't remember how much battery there was left when I started using it. They never come fully charged out of the box.
I don't know if I would call this a smartwatch. More of a smart-fitness tracker designed as a normal watch. You can't launch apps on it. Can't change your song or reply to notifications. It's a lot of health features and lets you see mobile notifications. It's a health product with a normal watch face. I would more consider this a fitness tracker than a smartwatch.
As traditional watch enthusiast and collector as well as someone who has never owned a smart watch , this might be the first one I get . I love the look , the design is gorgeous .
A review about a smartwatch and you dont show how it manages notifications and stuff? What about the vibrations? Calls? Wish I knew about this watch before getting a apple watch series 7. This could have been an option.
I have a xiaomi analog "smart" watch. All it does is track steps (with an analog dial which is very nice) and vibrate with notifications, but is has a one year battery life, which is amazing compared to regular smartwatches. Wish it would have done more tracking, but at just 40 usd it's a steal
Try the GARMIN smart WATCHS , they have very nice watches like the MARQ SERIES AND VIVOMOVE LUXE the battery last up to a month and the heard rate it’s the best on the planet! Try them out do a video of them
I bought my Withings Scanwatch a year ago, and it ages really well. Before smartwatches I used to wear a traditional watch. After Apple Watch came out I had to try it, and wore my Series 1 for almost two years. But I missed the “classic” watch look, and I’ve been used to notifications on my wrist. I remember Withings Activite. Such a beautiful hybrid, it was only available in 38 m. So when the Scanwatch came out, I wasn’t in doubt - This is the watch I want to wear daily also when I’m working out.
@@TeamCostaRicaTV the Scanwatch has a timer. It is kind of limited, but it still works for my use cases. For example, on a "regular" smartwatch you can input any time you want to count down. On the Scanwatch you can set it per 10 seconds up until 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, it is per 1 minute. After 20 minutes, it is per 5 minutes. I hope it makes sense. So if you really want to be specific, the Scanwatch can't set the timer to 23 minutes. It has to be either 20 or 25 minutes. So if that is a big deal for you, you might look elsewhere :)
i cant help but noticing the typo "andriod" at 0:57. its my OCD. please asks your editor to correct it and send over an apple watch series 7 to me here in malaysia as a gift.
I've had it since it came out in Canada and I love it! I chose the 42mm black model. I charge mine roughly every three weeks, and I do record workouts five times a week. The breathing disturbances feature is what will use the battery the most as the spo2 sensor will work overnight, I keep that to "automatic". Unfortunately the Canada model doesn't have ECG yet.
It’s a good and minimalist style watch, i have a steel hr Withings watch for 5 years, the only drawbacks is that non of their watches is repairable, before buying pay attention to this factor, if you break the glass in an accident, they don’t have repair policy!
I am someone who loves traditional automatic and hand winding watches. If I needed a new smart watch I would choose this. It’s simplistic and still feels like a watch instead of a phone in the wrist

I'm sorry but i had to: oooh a piece of candy 🤣🤣🤣@3:02
I find it much better than this watch.

true, but fossil hybrid hrs have a high risk of being defective (eg. fading display, fogging screen) so its a bit risky
Got this in September and I absolutely love mine. Good Battery life, I average prob. around 23-25 Days. Looks good and has a lot of good features
I used the watch for a few weeks, and while it looks good I can‘t recommend it.
The heart rate is almost always wrong, when my BPM goes all the way up to 150+ the watch just tracks half of my actual heartrate.
@@dunamis_22 I talked about my heart rate. Of course it goes up while working out.
@@dunamis_22 dont worry haha
The notifications can also be seen on the new OS ANDRIOD. 0:55

I really like this watch it looks very minimal.. I Will definitely be getting one and will be reviewing that on my channel
@@JBuchmann Except when you want to use one of the most advertised features, sleep tracking, of course.
Most people don’t wear traditional watches, yet everyone except Apple is obsessed with trying to make smart watches look like an unpopular piece of jewellery. Weird.
This is how should a smart WATCH be.

Took FOREVER to come to the U.S. Glad I finally got mine. Upgrade from the Steel HR was worth it.

Goodbye Samsung Classic 4… I am buying the Withings with the white face. Have to charge my Classic 4 at least 2 times a day. Spend more time on the charger than on my wrist. Wonderful that is works with OS & Android…thanks…🤗

If it's 39% after 3 days of wearing, how's it going to make it another 27 days?
I have SW and it comes only partially charged in the product packaging. But the battery lasts the whole month when you fully charge SW :)
He never charged it as he said on the video and didn't remember how much battery there was left when I started using it. They never come fully charged out of the box.
Wow, thank you for the smart watch recommendation.
Was looking into purchasing an Apple watch but definitely now going to get this watch. Thanks for the review, perfect timing 👍👍

I am a big smart watch guy. I need this watch asap!!! Thank you for the review.
Love from India ❤️❤️
You guys should try the Garmin Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar and Garmin Epix. Both have impressive battery stats and abilities.

Nice watch. My daughter would have to press the button all the time. She was never taught analog in school lol.

Nice video, Withings have very nice devices. Just want to know, what is the phone used on the video ?
Sad they didn't send you the horizon, would've loved to see that

Just what I was looking for. Thanks for the video!!
Just a quick question, can you put a timer on the display ? Need it for countdowns..
@@MinikNielsen thank you so much.. just need it for simple timers ⭐️
@@MinikNielsen sorry but can you put the timer for example; 4 hours and 35 minutes ?
@@TeamCostaRicaTV it okay :D It can maximum set the timer for 120 minutes.
I feel that you’re missing out on Garmin smartwatches. I have an old Vivoactive 3 music and it’s battery life is still about 8-10 days on a charge.
i cant help but noticing the typo "andriod" at 0:57. its my OCD. please asks your editor to correct it and send over an apple watch series 7 to me here in malaysia as a gift.

Wonder if u can VPN and private browser too order a US one?
I never had or used a smartwatch I’m an old school user of classic watch
this one combines both options
May be it’s the good one for me 🤔🤔🤔🤔
It’s a good and minimalist style watch, i have a steel hr Withings watch for 5 years, the only drawbacks is that non of their watches is repairable, before buying pay attention to this factor, if you break the glass in an accident, they don’t have repair policy!
