I was inspired to try cruising solo by a woman from the UK who used to be a RUclipsr. Her favorite cruise line is Princess.
I have done 2 solo cruises. I would choose Princess, Celebrity and two classes on Royal (Oasis & Quantum) in the future.
But I prefer to keep to myself and not meet others when solo. While the former RUclipsr I mentioned loves meeting people and has friends worldwide.

Have to go on a solo cruise. My wife passed away. Went on one solo cruise less than a year after my wife passed away. She was looking forward so much to going on that cruise. It was somewhat lonely although I brought several pictures of my wife with me. Did meet a few people while I was in the casino. Usually miss part of the show as I bring my wife's picture back up to the stateroom. Nothing on a cruise is "free." It is either included or not. One thing I don't like about cruising on Princess is that things that used to be included, casual restaurants, are now no longer included. Subscribed to your channel and even hit the like button. Used the Medallion on my last cruise with Princess. You should get to 100 subscribers by the end of the month.

Already at 100 thanks to your kindness, thanks so much! And I appreciate hearing about your story, thank you for being open enough to share. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your wife, but I'm so happy you've decided to continue cruising and honor her in the process. No doubt, she is still cruising with you that way. The casual dining change on Princess was not something I appreciated either, but when I weigh out the value and amenities still included in a Princess cruise for the price versus everyone else, I just can't see a better option at the moment. I am sure that will change down the line. As I mentioned, the cruise world is changing at a record pace. What cruise brand do you enjoy the most?

Solo cruising is experiencing a huge surge in popularity because for the first time in modern recorded history, we have a majority of adults who are unmarried (single, divorced, widowed) and given the increased desire of many adults to remain unmarried as time goes on, this is going to result in more and more people traveling solo. Also when traveling solo, YOU call your shots and have total freedom of choice. That is priceless for many including Me.
It is beyond clear that the industry leader in solo cruising is NCL. I will be sailing in their solo suite program next week onboard the Norwegian Encore and I have future Cruises booked with NCL onboard their Prima Class Ships, all within the solo suite program. Admittedly, I have always been “loyal to Royal” but unfortunately they have now taken the stance of actually “price gouging” solo cruisers beyond 200 percent particularly onboard their newer Ships both within their Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Brands. As such, going forward I’ll likely be restricting My RCL loyalty to their newer Ships and giving more of My Global horizon travels to NCL.

Unfortunately, I'm going on my first (semi) solo cruise this October. My wife and I have sailed on Princess more than 20 times, and this time, I'll be taking some of my wife's ashes to "scatter" at sea (you can't really scatter them anymore, they must be in a biodegradable bag) and a small vial to scatter on the beach in Cabo San Lucas. I say semi-solo because some family will be going with me, in their own cabins and me in mine. It'll be the first cruise for all of them, I told them that they don't need to babysit the old man, and I'll be annoyed if they do. They need to explore, wander, and experience their first cruise while I, who has been on this particular ship (Princess Majestic) a few times, have already explored and will be just relaxing and doing my own thing. Whether there will be more solo cruises in the future will depend on this cruise.

I've solo cruised with Princess, and even did some sailings with a friend. Even when I travel with a friend, we normally get our own staterooms. I agree with your assessment of Princess, it definitely gives you a lot of value. I can even get a balcony cabin as a solo cruiser and pay less than other cruise lines. Even when my cabin steward realize I'm a solo traveler, they make sure to interact with me even more to make me feel comfortable and safe. I like that I can relax, the facilities on board are also very clean and the hospitality has been very accommodating. This is why I quickly became platinum with them. Hi! I went on my first cruise ship vacation in Oct. I travelled alone on Princess from NYC to Canada/New England. I loved it!!! For all the reasons you said. I am going alone on Princess for 14 days to Alaska in May. As I have only been on this one ship, I have nothing to compare with. But the ship was beautiful, the service amazing, the vibe friendly, and I was enchanted. I never thought I would like going someplace different every day and feared it would be superficial, but I loved it. I'm having a blast researching my Alaska ports to plan my time. My spouse cant travel so i may be doing this for awhile and Princess has so many attractive itineraries. The only times i felt a bit awkward or even lonely was in the bars/lounges in the eves. I enjoyed sipping my drinks and hearing the music, but I always seemed to be the only guy alone. Nothing terrible. Just missed having some company.

Good for you doing 14 days to Alaska, what a wonderful retreat that will be. I just did ten a few months back and had the best time exploring Sitka, Juneau, and Ketchikan. Endicott Arm was like cruising through heaven! So glad to hear you enjoy Princess that much, they really are the best at the moment in my eyes. I can understand the awkward feeling in bars/lounges, but I find most people on a cruise are upbeat and happy to chat. If I am interested in a convo, I will usually throw out a compliment to someone near by or try to relate to them and it tends to open a door quick to getting to know folks. I also enjoy game shows and trivia as it brings everyone together for a common cause. Wishing your spouse well, and you a perfect next cruise. Thanks so much for your feedback and for watching. Always enjoy having another Princess fan in the house.

After calling the ships purser and captain the cops came and put yellow tape across their door which was the adjoining room to us, and off to jail they went. Then we bought what we thought was a video of the magician show we watched the first night and luckily we looked at it before we left the ship only to find NEARLY NUDE women helping the magician and cit was loaded with his advertisements of his business! We returned it and again complained to the purser. GOD AWFUL TRIP ALL AROUND!
