Squeeze lime (not lemon, it's smaller) and if possible sprinkle a little bit of dried chili to enhance the favor. Mix them together and eat it. After a few bits, chew the green veggie to feel the fresh green veggie taste in contrast. That's the way Thai does it.

When you eat Thai spicy food
and you want to get rid of spicy quickly
You order warm soup and slurp it.
Don't drink cold water. because it doesn't help the spiciness fade away
What surprised me in Bangkok was the strong smell of fish sauce across night markets and alleys, but the food didn’t have that weird smell :) But what really is sad and bothered me there was the excessive use of plastic packages >

I think they fried bamboo worms too crispy, so that made the texture like a sand.
You should remove cricket legs before eating, it can stick in your throat 😂
haha yeah, that may be the reason for the sandy taste. Oh no, glad it didn't get stuck, or we had to call 191. haha
Don't worry about gaining weight. Try everything you like while you are in Thailand if you have time enough.Thai street foods are clean ,good taste and not expensive. After leaving Thailand, you have much more time to be on diet later. Have fun,enjoy travelling and Bon Voyage. Good luck ! 💓💓💓

I would like to reccomend visit benjakitti forest park near terminal 21 mall and BTS Asoke station.
and you can walk from benjakitti to lumpini park by green mile bridge.
you have to squeeze lemon and add sugar and some chilli flake into Phad Thai. It's make more tasty. PS. I'm Thai and I wish you are enjoy to eat Thai food.

I feel so devastated after diagnosed pre diabetes and I freaking love eating especially sweets, treats, deserts and all. I've been to Thailand many times and the food is freaking amazing. This stupid disease basically took all the happiness away from me and food.
