Chris, just wanted to drop a message. Love your channel and everything you're doing. Arrived in Thailand from US, WA State a week ago. 5 days in Bangkok, now in Chiang Mai. Next Phuket and Krabi before going home end of the month. Using the Teenee app and finding some other hidden treasures. Does the app work in every city? I’m gonna be in Phuket as a base and flying to other cities often for a few months starting in may. Does the app only work in big cities, one city or all cities?
Just one suggestion on the android version. The public comment you can't see when typing as the background and the text are both in white.
I recently booked my next trip to Thailand primarily to go back to Railay since I loved it so much. The Tonsai video convinced me to stay at the Tinidee Hideway which was amazing. I'll be spending 2 nights there again in March and then in Railay for 3 nights. It's a total coincidence but, it's at the hotel you listed on the app. It was a bit cheaper than the Airbnb I stayed at and less steps.

I had my first trip to BANGKOK in SEPTEMBER, I ate every meal from STREET VENDORS and made sure to never eat anything non THAI or with a ROOF over my head, everything was fantastic.

I had exactly the same experience. Arrived in September and walked out to the main road for street food in the rain every day. This is the only way to experience Bangkok or any new place.

I had a very similar experience last September. I did eat one slice of pizza on my last day in Thailand but it was purely for research purposes. Other than that all Thai all day, and tried not to order too much Pad Thai as well
September was my first trip also, I'm back again and heading to Jodd Fairs tomorrow night I can't wait. I love Thai food nothing can compare.
For background my I grew up in many different countries (obviously with my parents) including Hong Kong, Germany and Malawi, then back to the UK, so in terms of food, we've eaten 'local' for decades since the 70's. I was introduced to Thai food by a work colleague about 26 years ago, which then inspired my first visit to Thailand and the rest is history, but, my parents hadn't ever tried it.
A few years ago, both of them now in their 70's I took them to a Thai restaurant here in the UK, and guided them through a number of things on the menu. Their reaction was very similar to your parents. Lots of new flavours, and plenty of smiles all round.

I didnt see many "pure" Thai foods here. It's all primarily Chinese-influenced foods. All those kebabs - beef, chicken, pork, seafood, fishballs, etc are all from chinese cuisine. You get all that at ANY chinatown or in china/HK. Rest are just desserts. Just shows China's influence on SE Asia is strong. Of course Yunnan is the Chinese province just bordering north Thailand.

I don't know if you are still in Thailand or not, if you are still I would like you to try our fried insects. It's not as bad as it looks. Okay, it's not great. If you eat it plain But you don't have to be afraid, we also eat it with sauce, seasoning powder, whichever is suitable for what. I hope you try it.

I envy you travelling the world with your parents 😭 Me and my parents love watching NatGeo, amazed with all these places. But I'm the only one who's able to travel currently. So I can only show them photos I've taken and talk about my experience. My mom travelled to different cities in Japan but that was more than a decade ago. I really want to take my parents to Thailand or Cambodia to see the temples and ruins, they would love that! But my kids are still pretty young so they get exhausted pretty quickly and you know, temples and ruins might not be a good place to take them esp when they are not used to the heat.
