If you want a good Megatron gun mode, and don't care about the stock, try to track down a version of the Retro Reissue G1 Seeker mold. The gun mode Megatron that it comes with is good and animation accurate, and it is 5mm compatable, though the detailed handle and stock will have to be removed

Holy smokes, the engineering on this is complete madness! I used to not be a fan of so many folding panels, but these now slide and fit together so snugly! The compression of parts really pushing the mass-shifting limits!
It looks good, but I'll wait till NewAge does some 2.0 upscaling, since the figure was made in response to the lack of a SS86 Scaled Megatron with a gun mode. As for NewAge dipping into the scales outside Legends, they've done it a few times before. There's at least 2 figures by NewAge, Mista and Duel, which are DoTM Soundwave and Megatron at a more MP-scale spectrum
I went for this deco, but would probably replace it, if they did do a comic version. The legends scale one is lovely, but I already have the animation version of that one.
Interested to see what you think of the Chiang Tiao Core Class Megatron. Very simplified compared to NewAge and Magic Square, but very appropriate to Hasbros ethos with core figured
So, I had to double check. There are two versions of this, with this one being "toy" colors, and the other being 86 movie colors. Honestly, "toy" colors looks like it comes pre-yellowed. Animation accurate colors are going to be the way to go for this for sure. Also, depending on how you display your collection this scaled fine with everything shown except 86 Prime (and Earthrise Prime/Megatron imo). He looked fine next to Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave, being roughly a head taller than them.

It was actually designed to scale with Earthrise Prime because when it was designed SS86 Prime wasn’t announced yet. They must have thought an SS86 Prime would be Earthrise size.

Originally this was intended to be substitute for 86, the only figure it’s out of scale with is Optimus Prime & that’s because they decided to make him bigger

I think you don't have the clearance yet to do so, anyways Romulus is great but the colors are not my favorite cup of coffee I wait for the other color more accurate. If Magic Square upscaled their version, that'll be the best as the Legends Scale version is awesome. I've always wanted Magic Square to upscale it as they did their Prime along with Brawl and Swindle. In the meantime, this will do.

My mp megatron the reciever/armpit part broke off after afew transformations. Glued it in but now he doesnt transform. 😢 now he just holds the gun mp soundwave came with when I transform the display.
Brilliant engineering. Probably the best G1 inspired Megatrons ever attempted. My favorite thing about this though is his walking gun mode. Not a fan of third party inspired Transformers so going to wait and see how Megatron SS 86 turns out. That Megatronus/The Fallen though looks epic. Hope he proves to be every bit as good as he looks as I've already preordered him for May.
It's a bit weird that they went to the trouble of putting most of the stickers on but left out the ones from the inside of the lower legs. Also, why not chrome the sword and include the weird space gun?
i still hope SS86 Megatron atleast comes with his Gun Mode self, heck maybe they could add it into the vehicle mode as a sort of gun emplacement on top of the tank mode

Are you showing the S01 Romulus Megatron or the S01EX? There are some color scheme differences, the number of faces (S01 seems to come with 3 additional and S01EX only one additional with one looking like the original G1 toy design) and other things. I think your link goes to the S01 which looks different from what you are showing.
I really hope somebody releases an upscaled version of this to pair with mp scaled figures, cause this is way better than mp megs and the transformation looks great. Newage really should do it themselves but if not them, then a ko

*I'm fine with SS86 Megatron becoming a tank,* as long as they nail everything else about it. Siege has been my modern Megatron for quite some time now. However, if i had to choose? We'd be getting that Classic 'pistol'-altmode in the SS86 line.
Honestly, I actually like that the real Studio Series Megatron would be a tank. I think it’d be great. I don’t really care that he’s not gonna be a gun; it’s not a big deal at all. As long as the botmode looks amazing and accurate, the transformation is fun and functional, and the tankmode looks good, and the accessories are great, then I’ll be happy. And this guy is cool, but too expensive for what you get, is a little too complex when it comes to transformation, and for at least this version specifically, I don’t like the mix-matched grey. It looks messy and unappealing which ruins the overall visual feel of the figure which is otherwise pretty cool.

They are so close! Why not include the supressor and arm brace like the OG toy?? Everything else looks sooo good.
I think maybe to keep the cost down. To be honest I’m not too fussed, I usually just leave them off anyway as they have no point in robot mode

*I'm fine with SS86 Megatron becoming a tank,* as long as they nail everything else about it. Siege has been my modern Megatron for quite some time now. However, if i had to choose? We'd be getting that Classic 'pistol'-altmode in the SS86 line.

Honestly, I actually like that the real Studio Series Megatron would be a tank. I think it’d be great. I don’t really care that he’s not gonna be a gun; it’s not a big deal at all. As long as the botmode looks amazing and accurate, the transformation is fun and functional, and the tankmode looks good, and the accessories are great, then I’ll be happy.
And this guy is cool, but too expensive for what you get, is a little too complex when it comes to transformation, and for at least this version specifically, I don’t like the mix-matched grey. It looks messy and unappealing which ruins the overall visual feel of the figure which is otherwise pretty cool.

Hasbro should change the name "SS86" megatron to "SS devastation" megatron.
Because "SS86" megatron that transforms into a tank is not accurate to the 1986 movie. But i think Hasbro will not care about this
