If teenagers trust the lady in the lunchroom to talk to and have their back, she has to be a hell of a person - and they seem very genuine and grateful for her friendship

3:22 -- probably one of her best moments of her life right there. Nothing feels better than realizing you are appreciated. Think about that....if you took the time, no matter how big or small, and showed someone how much they are appreciated you could totally change someone's life forever.

I coach varsity lacrosse at public school. I get frustrated with the younger generation at times but when I go to practice I am reminded that for every younger person acting up and feeling entitled there are 10 really good kids who are no different than I was at there age. The bad ones get all the press. I do believe our future is in good hands.
Such a coincidence that I'm cutting onions while watching this. Seriously though this is such an amazing and sweet gesture.
Nice job! My high school janitor was like Lynn. He even showed up to the funeral of an ex student who was a close family friend. She passed from breast cancer age 29. All of the kids who went to school with her lit up when they saw him. He impacted so many of us in good ways. It warmed our hearts that he remembered her and showed up.

Well, four years later, I'm a little late this party, but my two cents is that was awesomely sweet.
The lady doesn't even work directly for the school. She works for a contract food service the runs the cafeteria, has probably been there awhile, and while she may enjoy her work there's usually not a lot of affirmation in that kind of job.
But those kids let her know that she MATTERS in people's lives. That she matters to them.
Never too late to find us.

I know her job is very stressful. My mother worked at our high school for many years. The job is very daunting and a lot goes into the preparation of the food. The workers are under paid, but my mother always gave her best at her job. She is retired from the school system, but I knew she loved being around the students and she was very good at the job. This lady reminds me of her and I am glad she got the recognized by the student body.
When I first became a Professional Educator, my sons knew "Naomi," the Cafeteria Manager, in the cafeteria. She would make them their favorite breakfast EVERY MORNING! She sadly passed away years ago, and I have since retired, but she would ALWAYS smile, greet them in Spanish, "Buenos Dias," and treated them like EVERY child deserved to be treated! May God Rest Her Beautiful Soul! Blessings to those who continue to subscribe to this channel, and blessings to those of you who have the courage to press the "I LIKE THIS" button!!!

I live in NZ 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿 and East Idaho News Secret Santa videos have been popping up, which has led to this sweet video popping up... such a simple gesture from these students to show Lynne how much she is appreciated ...as it’s too easy to take the good ones for granted. Like others, I hope this act of kindness has inspired future actions in their families, college, workplaces ...paying it forward changes things.

The cleaner of our department in my final two years of school was named Leslie (we had a whole centre for the top two classes) was like this. She knew everything and would make us laugh and be there for us when it felt like everyone else turned away from us. She would hold students in her arms as they cried from stress and knew so many of our secrets but never betrayed us to our teachers. We could trust her unlike most of our teachers. She'd appear when anyone was upset ready give us life advice and always reminded us that it can always get better. We used to joke that she was like the mother of our year group because she was really. Just before we left for study leave things hit an all time low and there was a complete shut down in communication between us and most of the team that looked after us especially the head of that team who would normally have been honoured on that last day but she made bad decisions that she knew would hurt us repeatedly. Our cleaner was the one we agreed to honour on our last day. We lured her into the common area where all of us were sat and stood up and clapped as she came in. We all decided unanimously that if someone deserved a gift then it would be her. The headgirl got up holding a card and summoned two of my other classmates who were holding a huge bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne and said you've been like a mum to all of us and on behalf of everyone I'd like to say a huge thank you. We'd clubbed together to get the biggest bouquet of flowers we could find and obviously the best champagne but the piece de resistance was we brought her a spa weekend which was what the card was for. Someone then shouted three cheers for Leslie and I had never heard my year group cheer that loudly in the seven years we were at that school so it was a special moment We took a million photos in which she had her arms wrapped around the people next to her. As we walked out of the centre at the end of our last day she stood at the doorway hugging each of us tightly and telling us each that she was proud of us and that she knew that each of us were going to be just fine during exam season (we'd finished classes and our official school days but still had to go through many more weeks of exams which would tell us whether we were getting into our universities or not) but if we weren't then we knew where to find her
Mrs. Carter was that person for me when I was a kid.
