      Dude, I absolutely love restoration and resto-moding. But guy, way to much talking, we see, clearly, all you are speaking on! But we see it. I mean, if you like it, yourself, cool. Talk over minimum, visual content the same, Sir.

      @@arthursmith5409 glad you like our work Arthur, different spokes for different folks though. At the end of the day, this is a story, and stories are meant to be told! A lot of people don't like music in the videos, as everyone has different tastes... So I usually try for the middle ground. This episode was so fast paced though that music just made it muddled, so I went VO only. Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 👍

    2:25 I hate to add more work for you, but you just have to de-seam it where the rear valance meets the fender. Smoothing that out and leaving the bumpers off (or just use little corner whiskers for bumpers) should look awesome. You'll thank me later...and who needs sleep anyway? :-P Merry Xmas to you and your old man. Cheers!

    Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the German Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more....

    Hey man, the Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles Bodyshop could've done a better job. That LS isn't used that often and the whole of the running gear is a bit Frankenstein which means its built rather than bought so no one else has and that's cool. Take care guys.

    Excellent to watch, shows all the changes and mods required to reach your goal. You should measure up the completed frame and modifications and put it all on autocad with instructions to see if you can sell the successful modifications to others, who may want to copy your design without having to start from scratch/trial and error like you Folks did. If you can make use of all the effort/enjoyment of labour and cost by selling your gained knowledge on, even better.

    I would love to be able to hate the LS, because it is just so overdone, but there's a reason for that. It's just such a good engine that even modern designs with DOHC and VVT struggle to match it for performance or economy and the LS is far more compact, so it fits in places you can't ordinarily fit such a performant engine. Plus, with their ubiquity for engine swaps, the aftermarket support for pretty much all LS variant engines remains incredibly strong, so it shouldn't be a challenge to find accessories, mounts, ECU+looms, etc. for the thing. Sure, I like builds with weird and unexpected engine swaps MORE, but I can never hate a good LS swap. It's just a good engine and you can get it to make way more power than that little car can handle without ever needing to consider forced induction. Even if the only thing you do is swap the cam for something hotter, replace the injectors for something with more flow, and replace the rockers and pushrods, you can get it to around 400HP with no real problems, and that's plenty for such a tiny car.

    Thanks for your vision and hard work. I am particularly pleased with the shaving of the pinch welds . Back in the early 80`s I had a 69 GT6 and inquired about having these eyesores eliminated. The estimate was more than I paid for the car....needless to say it didn’t happen . It adds so much to the look of an already handsome design. Really,really well done.

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Dennis, I can understand why the estimate was so high, it was a bit of work! That's exactly what we thought though... they existed merely due to practical assembly requirements, and I can't imagine the designer ever drawing them on the prototype. Infact, if you have seen the Spitfire GT4 lemans racer, its fiberglass top had no pinch seams at all!
      Hope you'll enjoy what's to come for the project, and all the best for a healthy 2021! 👍

    Well, it is actually no longer a GT6. It is officially a "hot rod", which is not necessarily a bad thing, if you are into that sort of thing...many people have made hot rods from all kinds of vehicles from '32 Fords to Anglias. @FanatikBuilds  3 года назад

      You're more than welcome to have a different opinion to us Henning - but I find the abused part extremely uncalled for. We have tried hard to retain the beauty of the car, while sympathetically redesigning all the rest to better suit our needs. The parts we sold helped get two other GT6's back on the roads, and what we'll have in the end is going to be way more usable on our roads here in Ontario Canada.

    This is a new channel for me. I have had two GT6s. My first was a 1972 MKIII. It was a great car for about six months. Then it started to fall apart. I sold it and some years later bought a 1969 GT6 and had it "restored." I had it painted in the two-part chocolate brown. It wasn't an inexpensive process and the local paint guys charged me an arm and a leg. I drove that car for 15 years and eventually it rusted out completely. I can't wait to see how yours turns out.

      Haha, that's very high praise Larry, and I thank you for it! I'd love to take on clients projects some day, but unfortunately I don't have the facilities to do so yet. Keep an eye on the channel over the next few years though as hopefully things will change in this respect!
