I'm getting back into Rust after over a year and not only are all my favorite building tricks still valid, but my favorite Rust builder is still making vids. Today is a good day.
As someone who spent a god awful amount of time trying to get this style of pixel bunker to work consistently and quickly via Gabe’s method, I thank you! I actually gave up using this in bases because of how inconsistent and difficult it was to do. Time to hop back on a build server!
What an absolute banger of a video to start the year with. Will definitely be incorporating these in my builds. Hope you have a blessed 2023 glightz :)
Great Stuff!!! The pixel gap stuff is neat but whats better is the explanation regarding socket wall placement. I've seen a lot of base building videos and this is the first time this has been mentioned clearly. It explains why many of my offset bunkers haven't worked or only sometimes work. Thanks for the info!!!!
That's what I do here :) As I said, the new pixelgapping method was just an excuse to make a more complete tutorial, that's the fun stuff for me. Much love

I need more videos like this. I want to be able to design my own bases but I find I don’t understand mechanics like this well enough. You sir are amazing.
this works so well that i got molotov raided in the first hour of wipe and the pixel gap is what saved basically everything i own + my base spot lol. I love it.
GOATED. The best build videos bar none. Im still trappin out of the trio heaven. Has yet to be successfully raided in 3 wipes. You're the man Lightz!! Very helpful and informative video!!
YES! A great start to 2023 with another awesome tutorial to get us through the wipe and keep those raiders annoyed and unfulfilled. Happy New Year brother GL! I wish you even more success in this great Rust Building Journey and even more so, here, on RUclips!
For people having some issues here are a couple things I learned practicing on a build server. 1: If you are having problems connecting the foundations you most likely either moved your mouse too much left/right or up/down. Or you didn't walk in a straight line to the side. 2: If your foundations are aligning but you don't see any offset/unalignment you probably built your half walls on each other or from the high into the low rather than vise versa. 3: If you are seeing a seam or miss matching textures you did everything mostly right but you placed the foundations too close to yourself. You need to place them far enough away from you that the second is lifting off the ground rather than sliding back. (I was dumb and was doing this for half an hour before I realized what was wrong.) Thank you for the tutorial and for anyone having issues hopefully this helps.
Can you do a video on how to do freehand roof bunkers? Like multi tc roof bunkers but free handed. See them in built showcases on external TCs a lot nowadays
Great explanation of how the bunkers work. Can't wait to see the new base called the devil. I play in 4-6 man groups and the base footprint looks perfect for a group that size!
This is awesome! Thanks for the explanation on where the walls attach it helped make it so clear how to build on from there. I cant wait to try out some designs of my own!
thank you for the new method bro ! i found out a way to do it similar to gabe, and posted it a while ago (not sure if you saw the video). this is definitely a lot more easy and reliant, will definitely be using this method in the future !
you can do the small HQM gap but you have to use the console cmd client.lookradius 0.01 and you cant use some of those access methods, it has to be pretty precise. once youve gotten used to it though its very easy and you cant shoot through a small HQM gap because HQM has invis extra pixels on the top and bottom of its pieces. {{{{{EDIT: i just went and tested this a bit more, shot about 45 shots with different methods and angles as precise as i could and did get a couple in but it was less than 1 in 10 shots.}}}}}so when someone tries to shoot through it the projectile wont pass. ive been messing with combining multiple mechanics into the smallest possible base but also making it the strongest possible and balancing. even adding 1 extra triangle foundation to my build is a huge disicion lol. RN ive got some stuff up about it but its outdated by a lot of changes. but its mainly just a core to build off of, i dont care much for making huge bases anymore. i go for stealth, strength and storage
Strange, I tested hqm with low lookatradius and couldn't get it consistent without making a large gap. I'll test more and make a followup vid if it works!
@@GameLightz i just tried it with your idea of putting the siren light on the ground, dont think ive seen that one yet, and that worked. also using a roof worked. been making a Frankenstein base for like 4 months now lol. i use stuff from you, gabe, the rodent, some other smaller guys and then some stuff i came up with on my own. atm its only 6 triangle hex core with pixel gap tc, pixle gap floor bunker for 3 large boxes and a small box, and a drop down perfect bunker built off a The Rodent design but using triangles instead of a square
@sycamore5493 man 3 month old comment getting a reply lol. but ya i assume you play rust, so the way a lot of things work with hit reg is that you have to see, have a path, not be too far for certain weaponry, and not be lagging or desynced out of your mind for dmg to register. so the fact that only 1 in 10 shots registered on a test server means that only about 1 in 100 shots will register, with the player standing in the PERFECT spot shooting at the PERFECT angle, on a regular server. normal servers and test servers follow separate rules. like you wont get kicked for fly hack or being in the terrain on a test server and almost all hits will land that dont break full sight lines. if you need an example go look at some of Gabe's videos on how he glitches into terain and he usually explains how it all works.
Question, since you can't bring it to HQM, wouldnt it always be better to do the Armored Door + Vending machine trick? Since it'll always cost more boom to break through? + you get storage? Since doors got buffed
I usually never use this for TC as that can be exploited, as I show in the video. But keep in mind not many ppl know the exploit, and you can put down a pixelgap tc instantly in the wipe, while armored door may take a while

How big do pixel gaps have to be for an auto turret being able to shoot through? Not sure it was one of your vids or someone else where i have seen these being introduced from the outside carrying door frames then to the shooting floors and roof top. The foundations to the door frames being free hand placed and having at least 5 to 10 pixels(rough estimate if not more) that allowed for manual shooting onto the midlevel shooting floor and auto turret emplacement on the roof using the same gaps, but for a landing party in their coptors complettly hidden. Can one increase the height of turrets independent of the floor they stand on?
You can bind them to keyboard keys. so, in F1 console: "bind L input.sensitivity 0.01" etc What I do is, when I open up rust on wipe day, I just put the commands in, and the F1 console saves them, so all I have to do is F1 and then press the up-arrow key.

Great work! I have tried to incorporate this into my base and found out that In the case of low squared and high triangle foundations you can actually build the high wall out from the triangle. I stood on the side and forced the wall to attached to the high triangle foundation side and I was able to get a high wall.
Hi l, I really can't put that half wall at the bottom part for the pixel gap tc bunker, I dont know why I couldn't do it, unless recently the dev patch it
Excellent video. I really enjoy this channel/creator. Relaxing narration, crisp editing and great information. Subbed. Would you mind sharing which server you are using for your builds? And how do you get the 3rd person camera angle for recording? Second account?
Salaam brother! I have a new video idea/ request for you! "The Mini Chad-Shed V3" Where you combine the "Godbunker", "Pixelgap TC" & "Chad-Shed" all into one. This will be the ULTIMATE pvp/ casual base!
🎉❤I will have to comment here as the pixel bunker in my base literally saved a big portion of my most valuable loot from a semi-online raid. However the vertical pixel bunker is only viable in larger base designs as in a small one you don't get many sockets to hide and the pixel bunkers looked fishy in that scenario😅
Tried this 5 times. got the blue triangle able to be placed all 5 times and the pixel gap does NOT work - this is inferior to the previous designs in terms of consistency. After 2hrs of testing was not able to get it to work one time.
@@GameLightz Okay I may do that - I've tried doing it a few more times and still haven't been able to get it - would love a easy consistent way to do this as I can incorporate it perfectly into my quad bunker build :D
True. I haven't really checked because deployables cost almost nothing to repair. As of 2 months ago they no longer require anything except a bit of frag or wood, whilst previously they needed comps etc.

I stood on the side and forced the wall to attached to the high triangle foundation side and I was able to get a high wall.
that, for some reason, enver worked for me
Hi l, I really can't put that half wall at the bottom part for the pixel gap tc bunker, I dont know why I couldn't do it, unless recently the dev patch it
It's not patched. If u need help come to my discord and dm me :)
Sorry for the late reply, I had found out the error. Thx
dont even play rust but this video slapped
Excellent video. I really enjoy this channel/creator. Relaxing narration, crisp editing and great information. Subbed.
Would you mind sharing which server you are using for your builds? And how do you get the 3rd person camera angle for recording? Second account?
Sup!
I use my own private server. Recording 3rd person by using the "debugcamera" command
@@GameLightz Brilliant. Thanks so much for your reply. Please keep at it. It’s superb.
Amazing video
Salaam brother!
I have a new video idea/ request for you!
"The Mini Chad-Shed V3"
Where you combine the "Godbunker", "Pixelgap TC" & "Chad-Shed" all into one.
This will be the ULTIMATE pvp/ casual base!
GREAT FREAKIN IDEA
🎉❤I will have to comment here as the pixel bunker in my base literally saved a big portion of my most valuable loot from a semi-online raid. However the vertical pixel bunker is only viable in larger base designs as in a small one you don't get many sockets to hide and the pixel bunkers looked fishy in that scenario😅
Using this method you can create pixelgaps so tiny they're actually invisible. I think it works for any size base
Tried this 5 times. got the blue triangle able to be placed all 5 times and the pixel gap does NOT work - this is inferior to the previous designs in terms of consistency. After 2hrs of testing was not able to get it to work one time.
Works every time for me. If you need assistance come to my discord and we'll figure it out :)
@@GameLightz Okay I may do that - I've tried doing it a few more times and still haven't been able to get it - would love a easy consistent way to do this as I can incorporate it perfectly into my quad bunker build :D
@@theawsomedude467 Come to my discord. I'll be busy for the next few hours but tomorrow I can probably work on it with you if you like
Can you make this on console? Without commands
I doubt it.
Maybe if you turn sensitivity all the way down in the controls menu?
I don't know
I love the Vids!
whats a good base that has these integrated already? id like to see some real world applications to get some ideas.
"The Grail"
Would have been handy to mention which of those deployables can be picked up and put back down without needing repairs
True. I haven't really checked because deployables cost almost nothing to repair. As of 2 months ago they no longer require anything except a bit of frag or wood, whilst previously they needed comps etc.
@@GameLightz Ah yeah, that's a bonus, but I was wondering if things like the smart alarm don't take damage on pickup or need HQM to repair
